LOL, well, yes...you could say it's true. Here are the facts about this vid: it was taped in 1988 and featured Pinky, who at the time was the shelter's "pet of the week" and was up for adoption. So they put Pinky on a leash (first mistake) and brought him outside (second mistake) to shoot the clip. Something obviously spooked him (most likely not the lady with the box; I made that up. Coulda been a number of things since they were outdoors) and, as you can see, things deteriorated from there.

I agree with you both. But the cat has no concept of "help" in a human sense. He just wanted the hell outta there. But the worst thing in the world that guy could ever have done was let the cat between his legs. Oh, come ON, dude. Furthermore, they should've already been prepared with a catch pole. Next time, do like other shelters...keep the kitty in the cage, snap a few pictures, and advertise that way (this clip was around 1988, I think, before the benefits of Internet).

Actually this video aired on a local tv station and people were calling in like frantic to adopt pinky and any cat they had like pinky. I believe he was eventually adopted and the shelter got a huge donation to go with it. I mean who wouldn't want one of the internet's most popular animal stars? eh?

The cat just didn't want to be on the leash. But the leash didn't put him in pain. I actually don't think he was in pain, he was just like most cats.
