@pstorm4 no i didnt it ran just fine. only thing was it lost top end because of the reduced backpressure since the motor wasnt designed for it. but it was only a few MPH and the sound was worth it.
they say they do but really it was just a decrease in weight, so the little weight that was lost and the back pressure that was lost kinda negate it. i have studs on there and that weighs it down more so that is more top end i lost but more bottom end i gained. i was able to get up to around mid 80's without the studs and can and now i jet to around 60 and depending on the snow i can get it around 78ish. if you want a better sound then this is what you want. HP then no. 500's arent for HP.
I really love the sound, but the backpressure isnt exactly right for the 500's, or really anything else, but i have lost some top end, maybe 5 mph. I also have studs in it so those weight it down as well. the fasted I have gone was 84 without studs or can before i ran outta room. I cant really remember what ive hit with them on, maybe high 70's low 80's, but thats only been on really hard packed snow. anything else i cant hook up real well and i can only do between 60-70(local bike trail)
The F5's are quite a bit faster, since the sabercats have 80 hp, and the f5 has 105(before the new models). The first f5's could do 100 easily and stay with f6's if tuned right. i like first firecats, but the new ones are such a more comfortable ride. if you want a firecat like the first ones but a new sled, get the xfire"r". hope this info helps.
Do you mean gain 5 mph? and yeah your right about the speed. I can only get up to 77 when theres enough snow. I just got my sled to 85 yesterday, but the was on the lake and it had no snow at all
I just put one on and I find that I can't get anywhere above 4600ish rpm's and doesn't have that amazing power that the sabercats do stock.
