Korean Government has been very well aware of Korean's concern about mad cow disease and agreed to import less than 30 month-old beef with US through additional talks. It makes more sense for Koreans to refrain from illegal rallies such as candle vigil and Korean government should seek to work with its people.

The thing is that when the beef is in the country you can't really avoid it. Even if you don't consume the meat directly, you can still get the disease. For example if the contaminated meat was to be burried it can get in to the soil, then the vegetables, rice, fruits, etc. If thrown in to the sea it can also contanimate the salt we eat too. So it's not really the case of staying away from american beef. You really think that 1mil people didn't think of that?

This has become a gib story in korea because before this was announced everyone was already mad at the president.
