How come all the dudes at cold steel are walking heart attacks? Maybe they're making too much money from these products. I mean, come on, how much could a piece of sharpened rebar cost?
@TIMOTHYSAARINEN I know what you mean. I was just thinking the other day, 'damn I wish I had a heavy, foot long, double ended throwing spike right now'.
yea, i suppose it would have an advantage in that you would'nt have to butcher the animal afterwards... it allready would be in handy bitesize chunks... ;)
You guys are obviously in the right -- I wouldn't want my only defense against wild boar being a Torpedo or similar -- but, if for some reason firearms aren't an option, the torpedo is just amazingly destructive. I'd rather have a firearm, almost any firearm over a non-firearm weapon (not going to speculate about high power crossbows vs. .22lr), but I'd wager that there is very little out there that could seriously compete with the lethality of a direct hit from a torpedo at close range.
my buddy's main gripe with the torpedo and whatnot is there no sheath or case to carry them, you cant keep the tips sharps cause youll eff yourself up with it while trucking around, we lost it camping one time and didnt care to buy another
I went hunting with this thing...on a rabbit. Works great when you finally hit it, I was a bit new to the weight of the RPG so my aim was out of wack, However when I finally hit the rabbit, he was stunned and dieing, I retrieved the RPG, which was 2 feet from the rabbit and was able to finish the kill. Rabbit leg that night at camp and it was the best earned meal I had in a while.
When this bounces off a trophy buck's hide, have fun wishing you'd carried a real weapon :D If good for nothing at all, It would at least be fun to throw at the neighbors dog :P....
i've seen the cold steel promo for it. they break cinderblocks but if i was to try and take a hog with one i would definately have a sidearm as well preferably a .38 at least cause if it dont go down that things gonna be ticked
Any tool is what you make of it, I like to try new thing and have fun with them, this is one of those things that is fun to take out and see what you can do with it. We try it so you can see the different things that can be done. If it is not for you that cool, our goal is to get people outside
I have taken game with a throwing stick and this thig is absolutely devastating comparatively. I will see what I can do , but no joke it will go through a cinder block wall so i can assure you it will take out a deer, maybe even a wild hog, but i do not know if i am brave enough to try that to many variables and those things are mean
@shilohtv - lol dude! I was thinking more along the lines of a rabbit or someting! But if you think that railroad spike you got there can take out a wild hog I'd definitely like to see that!
Maybe you can get a farmer to let you slaughter one of his pigs for a BBQ or something, that way you wouldn't be in any danger! lol.
This thing weighs 2 pounds, it will decimate any small game and most medium size if that thing hits anything in a vital area it is going down, it is way more than a railroad spike., if you get a chance to handle one you will see what I mean.
@shilohtv - Don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting you, I was just being a little facetious.
Though I would recommend that if somebody were going to try to take down a hog with one of those, it would be best to practice enough that you KNOW it is going to hit sharp end first. Even at 2 pounds, a hand thrown blunt object will not do much to a hog other than piss it off.
@shilohtv so u just toss the the thing at the animal and u dont even have to spike it just hit it wow i guess if u hit the neck it will do alot but what if it hits the torso what would happen for a deer?
oh yay my left ear gets all the fun

You have no idea how confused I was when I saw "Hunting with an...RPG" heh...
Definitely not as entertaining...but this makes a whole lot more sense than hunting small game with high explosives..
Doctorchops 1 year ago
Just hit the animal with it. Don't even have to get the point into the animal
CrunchieDan 1 year ago
@CrunchieDan it is heavy small game would be decimated, you would have to stick it in larger animals

Nice spikes, for a minute there I thought cold steel was making their own line of Rocket Propelled Grenades. That would be cool.
