To all those that left us messages. To see your beautiful comments saying we have inspired you and others in some way or form is a awesome feeling of accomplishment as Maori writers and performers. We take this time to say that without your support, we are nothing, it is you the people that receive our music into your hearts which in turn inspires and encourages us to do what we do in terms of our waiata... Thank you all so very much for your comments...
When I found this song the first time- it was after I wrote spiritually and described myself as the totara tree. A lady in Canada sent me to it. It was so powerfully strong I cried. I have loved it ever since. I lost my son to murder six years ago and it reminds me of my life with him. The pain I feel in this song touches my pain and the depth it reaches is healing. Thank you to the writer of this song and to the singers who touched me at soul level

I tona wa i tu totara
Pioi mahaki ana e
Whakako ana i te aio
Tangi ana ahau
Tu tangata mahea
tangi tonu ahau.
These I think are some of the maori words, I don't remember them all, as it has been almost 13 years since I last heard it in maori.
Still a beautif waiata e hika ma, mahara au ki aku hoa kua hinga ki tua o paerau, ki tua o te kahurangi.
E hoa ma moe mai i roto i nga ri nga a te matua nui i te rangi.
