Totally agree that Waylon holds up today as well as back in his heyday. The pop country won't. But there are certain artists today that will hold up. Have you checked out Eric Church. He has a cover or two on Youtube of this one. Good stuff. A bit more rockin than Waylon's country but still good.
Waylon is awsome. I think its cool how the next generation of country referes to the past. Waylon sings songs about hank sr., Jamey Johnson sings songs about waylon, and hopefully it will continue that way. Todays country needs to go back to how it was in the past when there were real country singers playing country and western and outlaw country. all thats left is jamey now
He pistol whipped a music producer in Nashville for changing the sound of his music. After that, he was the first country performer that had full control of his music
@MrStitch105, actually i heard an interview with him last night, we just walked in wearing a gun that he had lent to one of his producers and basically said that if anyone played any pick up notes on the song he would shoot their fingers off.... still badass

There are some young bucks out there that Nashville will not let in. and it's a shame you have to but satellite radio to hear them.
