MR2 Roadsters are fine in the snow, rear wheel drive, rear engine, no issues at all, try that with a BMW! My guess is badly matched tyres or incorrect stagger
I think if you can prove that the drain caused the accident (the video as proof) you can sue the council... But as i have an MR2 i know it is a pig to drive in the snow, I have had nissan micra's blow me off as it just wont grip.
@AndysN20 Well i did think about putting a claim in against the council and the solicitor did think I should aswell. But a year later, I think its probably my fault for driving a MR car in the winter and not avoiding deep drains. I know what you mean about having no grip, there slow as hell in snow or ice aint they hehe
@daggernite They sure are poor in the snow but exciting when the back end kicks out. Sometimes you can correct it with the wheel and drift to your heart’s content.
As I cannot afford to run two cars I drive mine all year and I have spun it twice, once on the motorway when it was covered in snow doing about 10MPH, how I didn’t hit the barrier or a car is a miracle I just span like in the video across the motorway and came to park neatly in the hard shoulder lol. maybe get snow sock's now...
Rear wheel drive+mid engine+snow+lead boot = no
