  • I wonder how many girls and women are deterred from jobs or schooling in technological fields because of their belief that they can't compete without advanced math when their strengths lie elsewhere? I worked as a level 1 technician but did the same work as the system's analysts who sat to either side of me on a helpdesk at one of the biggest chip makers in Silicon Valley. They even gave me my business card which read systems analyst . But I didn't study college math. Yet I succeeded.

  • I ALWAYS loved math and science. When I was a kid I never knew such interests was gender discriminated. It is great for girls to do well in those subjects, but the need to be encouraged to fairly find out if that is what they WANT. Some girls and some boys too, just are not wired for the sciences, and would do better in social and english areas. That is great too. We need both types of people to help make the work go round :) Just be true to who you are! Laura

  • A TME. They make about 200k plus bonus. Nice.
