The original is without a doubt my most favorite holiday special ever. Half of it was because of the actual storyline itself and the other characters. The other half was because of the miser brothers. I mean this special wasn't that great because my standards were set really high already. Honestly though, I just think it is great to see old characters come back to life after a long time. So even though this one wasn't awesome, I still enjoyed it. I just wish they made them look right.

the original is the greatest christmas classic ever created and this could be the worst thing i have ever seen... a song that tells u to respect your brother, dont fight, and do what they want to do not to mention the horrible narration, awful creativity, and just a terrible plot... my dad grew up watching the original, i grew up watching the original, and i hope to god my kids get to do the same and arent stuck with this

I think they should have just left the classic "The Year Without a Santa Claus" . The Original is SO much better. Mrs Claus is amazing in the original but in this one, she is so bad. If you haven't seen the original, see it! Don't watch this one!

If I had little kids this would be fun and enjoyable for them.

Me, too. Although it's of course not as memorable as the original 'Year Without a Santa Claus,' I still thought it was a funny, likable Christmas special.

They should make an 'Ultimate Edition' DVD of 'YWASC' which would include the original version, the live- action version from 2006, and 'Miser Brothers' Christmas.'

haha i loved the flashback thing :P i wish the full flashback at the beginning was there :( the part where you see the fire spark hit snow miser :P it was soo cute the flashback :P thnx for sharing i lvoed this!! even if it wasn't the same as the other one its was cute whyat they did with the whole mother nature thing im glad they decided to add mroe to it :)

@Bijou42 Well for Snow misers voice, the guy who played him died (Sadly). However, they could have found some one with a similar voice. As for Mrs. Claus I totally agree. I wish they brought Iggy back too.

I agree--Dick Shawn is sadly no longer with us, but I still dunno why they had to make such drastic changes to him. He was my favorite in the original. I'd have hired Michael McKean. He did well in the live-action version. I also missed Iggy, Jingle & Jangle, etc. The whole 'Nature family gathering' concept was interesting. But since the North Wind (who was jealous of Santa like Jack Frost envied Frosty)'s territory obviously overlaps Snowy's, he shouldn't have been the automatic replacement.

@Bijou42 They couldn't mess Heat Miser up too much because they were actually able to get GeorgeT S. Irving (and Mickey Rooney!) back, at least. But their presence just makes you miss Shirley, Dick, and the rest of the original cast even more. >.<
