The motor is taken from an E-Scooter and welded to the frame in a position where the chain was tight and the motor was square to the wheel. The battery is wired with the positive to the frame and the negative to the motor giving a switch on the handlebars. Bike has a relative amount of power and travels along steadily.
I'm very happy with it, my first renewable transport, windmill charges it, motor empties it and gets me from A to B.
Hello Guys, as you know we are making windmills to charge batteries.
These batteries(on the bike) are 2x12volt batteries wired in series to give 24volts and that is to supply the motor on my bike with power which drives this chain which is fixed to the wheel on the opposite side of the chain to allow for pedal assist. As you can see its fixed on with some big washers.
soz you cant understand me the scotish english is quite thick and on its own doing the best i can gaelic is scotland first language english is americas first one can but try regards andy
well donne andyboy, I can see you comming down from scotland to see me one day on this thing, it looks wicked, that is free transport indeed, maybe get a little solar panel to charge the batteries when the bike is stationary.
24v motor from an e-scooter i also got the batteries, chain and back sprocket from the same scooter all from a skip one mans rubbish is another mad treasure so look out for one or two and build a two bike side by side carrage ( no horse needed) take care amd be safe
That is really a great idea,I have two old scooters that my sons had and I'm going to test out the motors and try to do the same thing. When I do I'll let you know. Thanks for the info!!
I'm originally from the west of scotland (Irvine-Largs) and have lived in canada 40 years...I can understand you fine.

Brilliant, love the sprocket to wheel connection. I'm looking to do something similar with a cordless drill set up aka DPX.
