strategy: i was about level 60 when i versed him (i level up A LOT). in my deck i put strike raid, then sonic blade, then blitz, then omnislash, then firaga break, then reflect raid, then blizzard raid, then fire raid, then sonic blade again, then blitz again, then blizzard raid again, then fire raid again, then curaga, then three 0 cards. all for about 900 CP. i've never lost more than once against a boss. my HP is about one and a half bars. firaga break works wonders.
those are my cards, but my actual strategy was, for the first 10 minutes of the battle (the wait is worth the easy win), don't attack him, break his cards with 0 cards. after using two of three 0 cards, hold down the A button on the reload counter until it is almost full. wait until he performs his next sleight, use your 0 card and reload. i tend to do this because otherwise, he can use sleights during your reload.
after about 10 minutes, he will have used up most of his cards and have to reload often. while he is reloading, use cure 3 times (not in a sleight so you don't lose the cards) and reload. repeat if you are at low health. just remember, after he has few cards left, he reloads often, giving you plenty of time to get a few cures in. at this point, start using all your sleights. hopefully, he should have only one or two 0 cards. spam your sleights (about 12 of them). reload, cure, and repeat.
try not linking the cards together, everytime you link a card, it deletes the first card linked until the end of the battle, unless you use an item to get it back, i know it makes it easier to brake his cards, but it will save you cards, and just wait for about five minutes into the battle, he links so much, that by that time, he's constently reloading!

Premuims will disappear after reloading. Try to have as many 9, 0 and cure cards in your deck as possible. 0 cards for breaking dark auro, dodge dark firaga, and button mash him with 9 cards.
if you need to heal, try to do it when he can not break you, for example when he is reloading, or use it as a sleight. (3 cure cards = curaga, 2 cure cards = cura)

Mostly premiums? Premiums are useless in my opinion. Stick to normal cards so you can actually reload cards. Cuz use them once and their gone unless you have a high potion and up

for supe high lvls like 40-70 i advise that u add more cp an that u use less magic and more summon attack enemy, also use teeming darkness to get enemy cards its easyier with stocked up enemy cards

haha finally beat him after 3 deaths.hes not that hard actually.all i did was arrange my keyblades from 0 to the lowest.i would just go to the section of my deck with the 9 cards,and when he casts dark aura,i just go to the 0 section of the deck which is just next to the 9.haha i didnt even get hit by the dark aura.
Pssh I already beat this game twice. My recommendation for you people who need help is that Cloud does ALOT of damage against Riku, especially the Omnislash sleight.
Try leveling up till you are a good level. I say about 45 to 55. Try stocking yourself with Keyblade. I wont use any magic unless it like Cura. I just keep ataack him untill you run out of card then use Cura or something that restore your life.
this fight was fairly hard. i stacked up on 0s and 9s and some 8s and 7s. i had the darkness knowbody card to get rid of his but before i did that i copied his card then got rid of his card

Took me DAYS to beat this guy back in 2004 because I was so underleveled. Was so stoked when I finally beat him.
Also, what have you been pumping your levels into? You have NO hp, lol, I was maxed by this point, though HP is always what I pump my levels into.

I've had this game since it came out and I'm in this part. I'm pretty bad right? Well I didn't play everyday though. And I have kind of a low cp but I'm in level 53 or 54... but I used it all in hp V_V. But how did u get all the 9's?

Best way to get stellar cards is to save before you go the moogle place and totally restart everytime your unhappy with you pack luck.

for supe high lvls like 40-70 i advise that u add more cp an that u use less magic and more summon attack enemy, also use teeming darkness to get enemy cards its easyier with stocked up enemy cards

ok i'm fuckin pissed off now...I'm att he same stage as you. I fought riku twice and lost...then i look at your card deck and i see all 8s and 9s and shit... you are probably cheating cause i went around lookin for good high cards and i cant find any...the god damn moogles only give me low lvl ones! i mean on the islands the moogle gave me a card that had a value of 1! FFS! oh and when you're batteling it should show your card count, it doesn't for you...Cheat much?

u have to beat the game as sora then the game well start again, accept it well be called chain of memorys reverse/rebirth start a new game as riku and there u go mitch1171

haha finally beat him after 3 deaths.hes not that hard actually.all i did was arrange my keyblades from 0 to the lowest.i would just go to the section of my deck with the 9 cards,and when he casts dark aura,i just go to the 0 section of the deck which is just next to the 9.haha i didnt even get hit by the dark aura.

To beat him real easily,just use the sonickeyblade sight over and over again,do card breaks on him and carry some cures with you.

I'm at lvl 71 and still can't beat him xD dunno why, think i focused too much on HP and not so much on CP.

Pssh I already beat this game twice. My recommendation for you people who need help is that Cloud does ALOT of damage against Riku, especially the Omnislash sleight.

Try leveling up till you are a good level. I say about 45 to 55. Try stocking yourself with Keyblade. I wont use any magic unless it like Cura. I just keep ataack him untill you run out of card then use Cura or something that restore your life.

Omg. Stock up on Zero value cards. When Riku use Dark Aura or the Dark Firaga break it by a zero card.
I just keep hitting him. Man it was so hard. I roll away from the Dark Aura and the Dark Firaga.

this fight was fairly hard. i stacked up on 0s and 9s and some 8s and 7s. i had the darkness knowbody card to get rid of his but before i did that i copied his card then got rid of his card

a great stratergy for this battle is to
1. put 2 or 3 cure card in the deck first
2. after the cure cards put your attack cards
3. after those cards put in 2 or 3 0 cards
if you have room put in a elixer ect.
this work for me every time
