  • ahahahhahahaha i find it LOL but interesting great thinkin... keep up with a great job...

  • I would lol

  • lol

  • @artvandelay13 lol'd

  • now that is cool!

  • That method is a cumbersome and unnecessary way to do something like this. It would be way more realistic if I used composite editing too.

  • how or in any way can you use this effect in a video???

  • if u do it with clear fishing line you wont be able to see the string! :D

  • ooh a giant freddie

  • The walking style looks weird now, though. Otherwise, clever tip :)

  • you're a biter and michel gondry should sue your ass.

  • And this can be applied to turn people into wizzards... just did that with my friend...

  • Should probably give Michel Gondry some props for this.

  • They have it on a better movie program like Vegas or Adobe Flash

  • It's veru very cool

  • haha - it's cool

  • way to rip off Michel Gondry

  • YOU CAN WATCH THIS VID IN A LITTLE HIGHER QUALITY IF YOU PUT THE CODE:

    &fmt=18

at the end of the video URL without space

  • You got that from smpfilms xD

  • of course i did. you´re right

  • we tried this sort of thing for a video we made last week end it's amazing the things you can do siply be acting your scene backwards and then fliping the video so it looks like your going forward. All of a sudden stunts you could never do normally are possible as long as you do them backward.

  • nice one

  • how do you get the banners on top of "about this video" ? thanks :) .

  • I think you get that if you're a YouTube partner.

  • yeah you do have to be a youtube partner

  • yes, click on video effects

  • no thats why its a p.o.s.

  • and when would you ever need to use this??

  • Who cares. Its cool.

  • Well, you could pretend that you are following someone who's invisible.

  • whoooo!! invisible!!

  • Can i do it on vegas?

  • Yes, right click the video on the timeline and select reverse

  • Pretty tricky & kool! ^_^ Thanks for the great tips! ~NH

  • lol thats cool

  • To check out a current Buyer's Guide for Editing Software, go to our website and, in the search window, enter article #13035 (be sure to click on the "Product Comparison Guide" link at the end!).

    Happy hunting!

  • We love to see examples from viewers who apply our tips to their videos. stuntmanquad's clip entitled "Mes pantoufles magique" features a very successful treatment of this technique, turning corners and everything. Check it out!

  • what is a good program to make movies on the computer by using a bunch a pictures u have collected of the internet or have uploaded? i have a windows but movie maker isn't that good.

  • uuhh Adobe Premiere? If not, try to get Ulead VideoStudio for free. Speaking of free, try virtualdub, oh wait that sucks.

  • you can add photos to it everymonth or change the music or just send it to your friens without posting you can also make video post cards or up load music from you computer my sister sells a yearly or monthly plan but they do have a free one i found out from a young person i asked how they got such great videos

  • I think that there are EVIL spirits in them shoes. Repent so the spirit goes away!

  • How do you make the video backwards?

  • It depends on what editing program you're working with, in some programs it's a simple as setting the clip speed to -100%. I'm sure a quick look in the help menu will point you in the right direction....

    Cheers

  • cool but sort of obvious

  • looks like me trying to put on my shoes after a night of heavy drinking.

  • Neat trick.

  • cool but sort of obvious

  • wow...gay =D

  • echt cool ...

  • Thats cool

  • Hi, Could you tell me how one captures video off the computer? I have never tried it, but I would like to learn. Also, can you tell me if it is possible to capture parts of a movie while it is playing on your computer? If so, what is needed. Thanks so much for your help!

  • clever

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • hahaha

  • nommes eso es para niños

  • OK...

  • wow

  • How does it help

  • ok

    ??

  • clever

  • cool

  • nice

  • what about in Sony Vegas, and how?

  • Yes, you can do it in Sony Vegas: On the timeline you can insert a velocity envelope to make the video go faster or slower. To make it go backwards just slow it down to -100%.

  • Okey that's pretty cool but HOW DO YOU MAKE THE VIDEO GO BACKWARDS IN THE FIRST PLACE!

  • whaha

    funny :D

  • The he-l with the effect you are a cutie ohlala!

  • wow very good :)

  • best for all

  • Can you do that with Windows Movie Maker?

  • no. there is no rewinding effects on WMM.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro Version 1.5 or higher will allow you to play video footage backwards.

  • I heard that video editor is expensive.

  • Lol, yeah it is.

  • Oo ..is program ??

  • Cool effect. Thx for the 411. Alot faster then stills.

  • awesome video

  • cool mate good info cheers

  • yea what program can filter it backwords???

  • Hehe very nice vid. effect , maybe I'll try it...;)

  • I think I will start making videos... :D

  • Amazing and quit Intresting, i love this Gabbage

  • Look forward to you continuing video tips!

  • That totally belongs to Gondry... :P

  • Nice!

  • per me e' una cavolata bestiale

  • Thank you for the fun tip. I am totally new at this and have two dogs that are a handful. Any tips would be helpful. The two videos I have up now are real poor, but I will learn to clean up the area, better to shoot outside and less dog toys and shoes to move!!

  • would have been even more great if he showed some programs to make a video reverse..

  • kool

  • Nice.

  • dagkentli30

  • its nice how you shoot it so that you don't see the string. It is also harder to see the string if the shot is under intense sunlight (which you should try to avoid) If you do see the string, then you can use after effects to fade out the video shot.

  • Fishline...

  • and fishline works too.

  • Is there anyway to do this in Windows Movie Maker or Ulead Videostudio 8??

    Thanks!

  • thats cool, i wonder what else this technique can be used for

  • LOL, I should try that. "Whoa! How did he do that?!" Ha!

  • Hey, thanks for the tip. Silly stuff like this snaps a synapse or two and wakes up the audience; "Huh? What? How? or even WHY!?" But the thing is, it got their attention!

  • well

i guess if i ever need to make a video of my shoes walking in front of me...ill know what to do!

  • thats pretty cool, but what software to use to do that????

  • Almost all mid-range editing software have a way to play footage backwards, including (but not limited to): Final Cut, Premiere and Vegas. Some of the introductory software programs such as Premiere Elements also have this capability. Good luck on your video making!

  • Thanks!!

  • Hey, i've got vegas and i don't know where is that function, can you tell me?

  • On the timeline you can insert a velocity envelope to make the video go faster or slower. To make it go backwards just slow it down to -100%.

  • wow thanks!

  • 1 problem about that...i have know clue how do do the accual PLAYING THE TAPE BACKWARDS...

    just to let u know...

  • It depends on the editing software you're using. In some programs it's as easy as adjusting the clip speed to negative (-100%). A quick search in the Help section of your software should get you on the right track. Also, go to the forums section of our website, we have a vast community of videomakers with threads on all the editing systems out there. Good luck!

  • thanks, im just wondering but, what editing software do u use?

  • We primarily use both Premiere Pro & Final Cut Pro (I believe this demonstration was done on FCP).

    Cheers

  • Thats cool.. Just so far I don't need shoes in front of my own, but i'll figure out a way. I might even get the magizine

    from,

    del-boy.

    .

  • its look good

  • nossa que bem loko

  • no lo

    vi que shafa

    naa

  • pas bête du tout :D

  • does the backward effect work on windows movie maker?

  • no because somebody in their infinitely Micro-Wisdom saw fit not to include a backward filter in WMM ----- so if you find one please send me ---- or any patch that'll prompt this donkey of a program to do what i ask as opposed to just sitting there frozen when i put on another transition or filter at some point it doesn't agree to.... per l e a s e ------ oh well, there's always 700 bucks of final cut i suppose

  • geesh! yea, i noticed.

  • neat

  • dude tht was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo stupid

it didnt tell us how 2 make a movie it just told us how 2 do something really!!!!!! stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!
