@niljen92 in my opinion it's great that they don't get mainstream radio play. This is one of those rare bands that you don't want the trendy retards getting their grubby hands all over, if you know what i mean. To me, ever since I discovered them, they have been sacred.

@fatalgrace79 I agree, when having listened to them for a while. Saw them live at Metaltown, wow! But yes, if they remain as "unknown" as they are now, it will be great. Fame ruined In Flames' music in my opinion. Or at least made it less good. :(

the actual genre is called dark wave I think. Very small genre. I think the biggest band in it is Katatonia, and they aren't even that big.

They started as progressive doom/death and had a very opeth-y sound, mainly because their first album is done almost entirely be Mikael Akerfeldt.

I think Katatonia are one of the better Doom Metal bands out there, if only because they don't drag their songs out for ten minutes going at 30 bpm. Although it isn't only because of that, their music is great.

I think katatonia is not good as doom metal like in the old days, i think they became greater and greater after all the years but as doom,i dont like them very much... i prefer the new type of sound... Like LFDGD and Discouraged ones... that the awsome stuff... but well i love the songs murder, brave, dancing december, rainroom the rest is more from the same.

BTW i love katatonia one of my favourite bands and it´s just my opinion and like others opions it worths what it worths

The whole video looks "off", was it perhaps recorded backwards (at least the actors movements), then played forward to get that undescribable "off", not quite right look?
