I believe Itachi gave Naruto the power to control Kyrubi. Since only an Uchiha can control Kyrubi's power. So it makes since that that is what Iachi gave to Naruto.
I think Itachi's motive for doing this was because Itchi knew Sasuke would attack Konoha under the influence of Madara, and new only Naruto would have the power to stop him.

Itachi never came to Naruto's dream, Naruto met a clone of Itachi's when he was out searching for Sasuke, and before Itachi's final confrontation with Sasuke in the Uchiha hideout. In my opinion, I don't think Itachi could just give Naruto his fire element, because if this is possible, then Naruto could just gain everybody's element by telling them to transfer it to him.
Ok lets pretend that this spoiler is real: Its very stupid of naruto to have learned the fire element... Let me explain myself. If he's ultimate goal is to bring Sasuke back, then he should have learned water because water wins against fire and wind against lightning. And if he takes the training even further, he could mix water and wind to form ice. THAT would be brilliant!! But then again fire is still useful... i guess.
in the current anime, it shows naruto being introduced to sync/collabo jutsus with the toads. he told jiraiya he wanted to learn long range jutsus to keep from injuring himself. so if he starts this type of training before the sasuke/orochi fight, naruto has had plenty of time to learn new elements. plus with this style of training, the time needed is not like a normal shinobi as we've seen before.
also in his sage training, naruto was shown training alone in front of a bunch of cut down trees similar to the tree that got cut down during jiraiya and mr gamakiri's collabo attack in the demonstration. we're now seeing the fruits of training.
you can pretty much say that naruto is now the 6th Hokage..he is more dependable..than Tsunade..For example the injure citizen look for naruto as a light of hope..Tsunade might as well pack her bag back to gambling

did anyone of you read the manga ? anyone is capable to use any kind of element the just have affinetys to different elements which doesnt mean that they cant use all other elements and bisides what naruto uses is sage arts.

you guys are dumb. itachi didnt give naruto katon.. jaraiya used it when he was in sage mode so naruto could to since he is sage mode. it has nothing to do with the fire technique all this is part of the sage mode. except the lighting speed, thats from his dad i believe =D "yellow flash of konoha?" =)

why would itachi give naruto a wind element?... he gave naruto a power that can compete against sasuke.. it would rather be a water element or stronger way to fight againts sasuke's gengutsu.

yes itachi did give some power to naruto, but it was to fight sasuke with. Also it is impossible for naruto to learn sharingan as it is a blood line limit of the uchiha clan. since naruto doesnt belong to this clan he can not learn it. hope i helped ^^

In the manga chapter before sasuke and itachi fight, itacih goes to naruto. he gave him some power and said that he hopes he never has to use it... so i doubt it is a new element since there is nothing bad about using a new element. also when they are born their chakra has an afinity to a certain element/s... u cant simply give it to someone...

it would be awesome if itachi gave some of his power to naruto to control the 9 tails, like how madara controlled the 9 tails with his sharingan. and that secret technique naruto has been secretly working on should involve combining both kuton and fuuton techniques.

Katon Wildfire is not the move because Itachi said "I hope you don't have to use it" that is probably a "last resort" move. It may be something huge and destructive but saves them, or just a particular secret to destroying Pain.

Itachi never came to Naruto's dream, Naruto met a clone of Itachi's when he was out searching for Sasuke, and before Itachi's final confrontation with Sasuke in the Uchiha hideout. In my opinion, I don't think Itachi could just give Naruto his fire element, because if this is possible, then Naruto could just gain everybody's element by telling them to transfer it to him.

Ok lets pretend that this spoiler is real: Its very stupid of naruto to have learned the fire element... Let me explain myself. If he's ultimate goal is to bring Sasuke back, then he should have learned water because water wins against fire and wind against lightning. And if he takes the training even further, he could mix water and wind to form ice. THAT would be brilliant!! But then again fire is still useful... i guess.

in the current anime, it shows naruto being introduced to sync/collabo jutsus with the toads. he told jiraiya he wanted to learn long range jutsus to keep from injuring himself. so if he starts this type of training before the sasuke/orochi fight, naruto has had plenty of time to learn new elements. plus with this style of training, the time needed is not like a normal shinobi as we've seen before.

also in his sage training, naruto was shown training alone in front of a bunch of cut down trees similar to the tree that got cut down during jiraiya and mr gamakiri's collabo attack in the demonstration. we're now seeing the fruits of training.

well whether this spoiler is fake or not, we now can conclude naruto did train to used Collabo jutsus with the frog. the new anime episode jiraiya is shown training him. yes, its filler but now the arguement of whether or not naruto can use katon is supported. awesome!
