I think Coach Nick Ellis and Rochelle die beacuse they are immune and the military does not want to be infected and this song makes that clear it's like a "This is your last stand" song. it's kinda sad beacuse i liked the L4D2 survivours L4D1 is to dark and depressing in L4D2 you get awsome rock music in the opening theme and the quality is better beacuse in L4D1 there seems to be no sunlight at all L4D2 has a loop of Light Dark Light Dark thats why i like L4D2 more

@skeletas54 you don't need to download it if you have the game just go in C:/Program Files/Steam[or valve]/SteamApps then you need to find a folder called games or something like that go on it and open the l4D2 folder and then just look for the campaigns music :).

It's the best version of all the Left 4 Dead themes, because it actually evokes a sense of despair and ruin. When I listen to this, I think zombie apocalypse. I think this was made deliberately for the final campaign, because it pretty much says: "We've been through a lot of shit. Now it's time to get out."
