  • #2 country in history

  • Nice! Police @ 0:51 !

  • Video too fast. Not good.

  • @amishkr It must of been that way because there have probably not been enough single pictures to be taken out from the Street View for the area used in this movie. More pictures would give us slowlier movie.Less pictures being used give the faster movie to the eye of an observer if I get that correctly.

  • I suppose you're from Swiss so if I may ask you something about the Street View there: Do you know why there are no Street View pictures in the area of Ticino canton (Chiasso,Lugano, Bellinzona, Biasca etc..) though the Street View cameras can be seen on the Google Earth map there?

  • Splendid. How did you put all that together in one movie? What program did you use?

  • @ddraguti

Ich prepare a virtual drive through Los Angeles with Streetview, too.

First you need a Screenshot- Program, which automatically save your screenshots picture by picture, while you are pressing the Print- Button on your keyboard.

The second step is to put all single pictures in a movie- program, I use Microsoft Movie Maker. For the lenght of each picture I use 0,16 seconds (slower than this video), so you need round about 350 single-pictures for a one-minute-movie.

  • @KrissP1983 so you use already existing single pictures in the Street View, then you make a screenshot out of each picture, save it and then you put all those pictures in a movie program? For God sake it must have been terribly exhausting for you to take a screenshot out of so many pictures (350?!) to get only a one minute movie?! I would gone mad.The result however is fascinating. You should protect your idea as a patent: )) If at least you could, unfortunately those pics are Google property.

  • @KrissP1983 but why didn't you just make a simple movie with cam being fixed somewhere on your windshield? It would have been a lot easier for you to do that and beside you could have made a longer movie? Or you probably think that such a movie wouldn't have the quality and visibility of the single Street View pictures being rolled as a movie?

  • @ddraguti

The time I spent for one minute of Streetview-Film is not even 2 hours. And my Video will not be longer.

The reason why is more a critic on google: Why isn't google able to film our streets virtual? Why do we have to click through millions of single pictures, but can't drive through it like in a simulator?

Maybe google will find a solution for this anytime ...

  • @KrissP1983 "Why do we have to click through millions of single pictures, but can't drive through it like in a simulator?"

That's too what I've been dreaming of every single day! I'm sure they'll find a solution for this as that is the next logical step in a Street View upgrade, something everybody is expecting to happen.Well maybe not the very next step but some time ahead.Whataver they do I'm sure it will be close to your idea in this movie.
