They taught me countersteering at the beginner course.

It felt really awkward when I first tried it, but when I got the hang of it, it was easy.

This video is such bullshit and this idiot has no idea what he's talking about. Of course MSF teaches counter-steering as it is impossible to turn a motorcycle without it. The term they use or don't use doesn't matter as they do teach one to properly turn a motorcycle. MSF doesn't kill anyone and only saves countless thousands of lives every year because of this training.

Page 21 of the BRC Rider Handbook, 2008 edition:

"To initiate motorcycle lean, press forward on the handgrip in the direction of the turn. THIS IS REFERRED TO AS COUNTERSTEERING."

Page 70 of the RiderCoach course materials, describing Excercise 11 on the range: "This excercise is designed to focus on the effects of COUNTER STEERING."

Please check your facts before spouting off.

Just READ the links in the description: "the MSF teaches countersteering to all students in all of its schools, as do all motorcycle racing schools.. .... rider's manuals typically simplify countersteering using some version of the standard verbage "PRESS — To turn, the motorcycle must lean. They taught countersteering at my MSF beginner course. Try taking it, you might learn something.

Does it matter if they dont call it counter-steering? If they are teaching the principals then what does it matter if they call it push-steering? When I am talking to a new rider I prefer to use the term "Push-Steering" (Although I will mention that it is also called counter-steering) as this is a descriptive name whereas counter-steering is a little ambiguous (it may misconstrue that you should TRY to steer in the wrong direction).
