There is no such thing as good soul music like this today. There is almost no such thing as 'music' today, unless it's from twenty and thirty years ago, shee-it!! #musicianshiphasgonetopot
I am Oby's sister. She is now the Vice chancellor of a university. Oby lives in London with her husband, She will be releasing a new awesome album that she is recording. If I can get a group of people willing to campaign for her to come and perform in the US to release her new album, I can start promoting a concert here. She is still awesome and her new album is off the chain!!
@uwanuakwa If she lives in London, which University is she the V.C of? Just curious as I'd really like to invite her to the forth coming Miss Nigeria U.K!
1981 was a very fecund year in the Nigerian pop scene: Christy Essien-Igbokwe ; Onyeka Onwenu, Jide Obi; Kris Okotie; Tony Okoroji; Dora Ifudu, etc. But it was Oby Onyioha's album, released in December of the year, that had an international feel to it. Just imagine what Nigeria must have been like then, listening to such fare alongside Lakeside, Kool & the Gang, Billie Ocean, Ray Parker Jnr., Barry White, Odyssey, Bunny Mack, Wally Badarou, Raphael Cameron, Eddy Grant, Grace Jones and many more!

Might I be forgiven to say this tune rhythm was produced by SOLAR or other U.S. American music company?
