Well, the manga is ongoing.

The anime digresses quite a bit from the manga quite early on. Father is the main villain in the manga, Dante doesn't exist and there are new main characters like Lin.

The good news is, if you dont want to read the manga, they are now releasing Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. It follows the manga perfectly and the graphics are top range. Its at episode 28 at the moment. You can watch it on most sites. Hope i helped !
