I'm surprised that they let the monkey's get so close to the people like that. Nothing like I have ever seen in America. The animals homes look so much more natural than at the Zoo's here. This is really the best zoo in the world ever!!

@MikeFromCA yeah, it's a shame. most zoos in the US (well, most commercial establishments in general) are overly paranoid about possible litigation if anything ever went wrong. they don't have that same problem in most other countries.

singapore zoo is absolutely amazing, especially at night, where you get to see a lot of the nocturnal predators in their natural state

@MikeFromCA not that i know of. i think it has more to do with the fact that the animals get so used to having people near them, it becomes "normal" for them. also, i don't think you're allowed to feed the animals there. a lot of animal aggression comes from food motivation.

@antipersonneldevices Actually you can feed the animal at certain 'Animal Feeding Sessions' under the Zookeeper's supervision and help for a small fee (used for conservation biodiversity funds). I had a chance to hold a stick with meat at one end and feed crocodile popping out of water to grab for a meal, it was simply exhilarating! Kangaroos love apples =)

Thanks for loving the Singapore Zoo, the best tropical rainforest zoo in the world! Glad to see Natasha, her hubby, Callie and Dave having a rather fine tour... It's a pity you didn't capture the human-like orangutans, they are simply the iconic ambassadors of Singapore Zoo =)
