tim burton's films reflect very dark nature of the batman costume, batman returns the snow in the two films besides having a great story are beautiful aesthetically. I hope one day return and Burton directs another film of the bat.

dark knight wasn't good because

1: heath ledger wasn't funny at all, he didn't laugh as much as nicholson or hamil.

2: it's impossible to take off the make up so how can the new joker do it?

3: he fell in a acid bath, he's father didn't give him thoose scars.

4: batman doesn't overreact in the movies but in the new ones he does.

5: bane will be so freaking uggly i know it.

Don't forget, the B:TAS intro is an arrangement of this theme by Elfman himself and that was the first taste of Batman for many of us. Whenever we think of Batman, that particular motif will always there in our minds.

There is no need to compare Elfman to Zimmer.

Elfman composed the best for Tim Burton's fantasy batman movie.

Zimmer composed the best for Chris Nolan's non-fantasy batman movie.

Although I think Tim Burton sucks, I don't feel the same about Danny Elfman, especially after his score for Wanted. He is brilliant.

Its really difficult to compare this to Zimmers. They are really too completely different animals. This is more of a THEME, a piece of music that is recognizable as such and compliments the character. Zimmer's music is more about the embodiment of the character and emotion, conveying the sense of the movie on a much deeper level, setting the tone of the story.

This will always be the definitive Batman theme no matter what.

The difference between this theme and the ones from the new movies (and between oldschool scores and modern scores), is that in this one you can remember the whole piece all along (or at least, it's charismatic leivmotiv), after years of not hearing it, and in the new ones, you have to sit all along five or six minutes of Zimmer's synthesizered "this-sounds-the-same-like-all­-the-movies-I-score-recently" stuff to get to the 6 recognizable chords.

This is the song that MADE new look Batman and was probably everyone's childhood theme song in relation to Batman. It's epic, no doubt, and it works for the darker and stranger Batman that burton created but as for Zimmer's Batman theme, it is PERFECT for Nolan's more action packed Batman and the epicness that it is. Both work well and this is the song of my childhood but I have to give it to Zimmer because whenever I hear his, I want to go fight crime lool.

@indians201121 Actually Kilmer was pretty good as Batman, but sorry girls, George Clooney was by far and without a doubt the most horrible representation of Batman ever. He could not act past a paper bag, and he did not even differentiate between Bruce Wayne and Batman. At least Kilmer and Keaton were very good at the character, but yes Michael Keaton was really good as the Batman.

Zimmer took a darker route and it's really more of a new-age kinda thing.

Arkham City, on the other hand, took these two and made it absolutely EPIC. You should check it out man, the Arkham City main theme. It'll blow your mind.
