hell i guess im a rookie cause ive made some good music with this damn thing

  • you really smack them lips

  • Gawk! What a tube collection! and I bet that the ones shown didn't even skim the surface.. Can I have that Mullard long plate? I promise not to tell anyone.

  • A very interesting & informative video. I will be looking through my valve collection now to see if I have any rare ones :)

  • I like the ECC82, since this is available in my area.

  • @gigabrid Check out our 12AU7 video!

  • As always, Brent provides some great info, now you all have a place to start your research.

  • @Stereolist Thanks! I will try to get a sequel to this video up soon!

  • lol........and finally the 2xx7, and lastly the 12xx7, and then finally the 12xx7, he should be the spokesman for energizer.

  • I have Yaqin MS-12B Vacuum Tube Line stage / MM Phono stage Pre-emplifier with low impedance output 12AX7 + 12AU7 vacuum tubes for amplification for my Turntable, and my question is:

1- Can I upgrade the original tubes to better one.

2- There will be any difference in the sond quality If I upgrade the original tube to better one.

3- What kind of tubes 12AX7 & 12AU7 vacuum tubes you recommend me to purchase for my Yaqin MS-12B Vacuum Tube.

    Thanks.

  • @albolooki any tubes except those chinese tubes that the Yaqin ms 12-b came with would sound better. It all depends on your system. I have Amperex, Telefunken and some new 12ax7 tung sol that work great.

  • I cant tell the difference between the General Electric 12ax7 long plate and the mullard 12ax7 long plate but the telefunken 12ax7 smooth plate has a liquid sound has a natural equalization pattern like setting all the controls between 80hz to 14khz below flat or 100dbs.

  • @pakiw2 - russki tubes that were/are worth copying are limited to the 6n30p-dr and the 6p3s-E. Everybody knows a 6p3s is a 6L6, and most 6p3s-E are much better at handling power, despite the fact that the E is only supposed to mean a rugged envelope.

Nobody copied russki tubes - the RCA 12AX7 came out in 1948, when the Russians had just learned to make the ECC91 (6n15p) from the US.

Nobody outside US made a 12AX7 until 1951 (Brimar).

LOL peristroika is here, and you believe propaganda?

  • Is there any way to visually determine the amount of wear or use that a 12AX7 has had? Is the carbon deposit at the bottom of the tube an indicator? Thanks for the great videos!!

  • @Prozoot if you can't see through the silver halo it may be a good sign also darkening glass a sign of wear loose micas inside glass silver halo disappears is a gassy tube low testing tubes is a bad sign of replace.

  • Many of tubes are copied from russian tubes, this too )))

  • Thank you for your presentation. Please post some others like 7591,GZ34, 12AU7, or 12AT7 if you can as these are quite popular tubes also.

  • Nice table! Is that mahogany?

  • Sigh...I love tubes!

  • Stop slopping you mouth! Its rather annoying.

  • i wouldn't touch tubes with my finger oils

  • @andy92811 it won't harm them.

  • After watching this video it seems that I have telefunken smooth plate 12ax7's in my amp.

  • Super-cool-nerd alert!

  • super-nerd alert

  • Are all Amperex 12AX7's valuable? I just got one that looks like the very first one shown. Has the bugle boy and says "Made in Holland" on the side. Still in the box, not used.

  • what brands of 12AX7 and 6V6 tubes do you recommend for a fender vibro champ xd? would a matched pair of each tube work just fine? the amp uses one 12AX7 and one 6V6

  • We obtain tubes from all over the world. Some in this video came from The Netherlands, and others came from Pennsylvania! We buy bulk lots of new old stock tubes all the time from many different sources.
