  • Is this legal? I mean lying like that... with such conviction...

  • These fools, FOOLS i say, who deny Him....If We Deny Him, He Also Will Deny Us (2 Timothy 2:12).

Life after death will show who is wrong and who is right. I believe in God and i believe His Son, Christ died for our sins. We need to stay strong.

  • The thing that saddens me is that this video only has 84k views. I fear that the wrath of God will be strong against America, not because of Las Vegas, or New York (The Great Babylon some would say), but because of our "Bible Belt" that has led so many astray. Talk about killing saints. May God have mercy and grant restoration.

  • @scrow321

I'm a born again Christian and just want to ask what is "bible belt"? I've never heard that term..

    God bless.

  • im from a evangelic community! so..at first hand not people who would listen to this preacher...but the thing that amazes me listening this is that what mr. washer describes here is the WONDER! of salvation, what we see to often....!

  • Ow Ow I can just hear the tears...Bahahahahahahahahahaha

Salvation is like a flu shot......This guy once said that salvation was like being hit by a Mac Truck that is supposed represent Jesus Christ Our Lord. Well, I like to think of people who have horrible bible applications as such, as P.O.S.

  • Ow Ow I can just hear the tears...Bahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Jesus Christ runs deep. He touches your soul. Things that were big become small. Things that were invisible become clear to see. Jesus Christ challenges. He awakens. Get into your Bible every day you can. Without the Word of God working in your life-- it's not enough. Don't rob yourself. Dig in deep. Dig in deep and pray. And stay in the Word. Stay in the Word. It is your daily bread-- and no Christian should be without it. This is what I wish someone told me-- Stay in the Word.

  • One of the few preachers today who preach a saving gospel. Thank God for men of God who preach the Truth. Today it's all about health, wealth and prosperity.

How does a prosperity preacher evangelize a rich man who doesn't need money and who is quite healthy and happy ashe is. Do you understand that he also needs to be saved? The health, wealth and prosperity gospel just wont work on him.

    Repent and believe the gospel

  • True Gospel from Brother Paul.

  • Mr.Paul is great as he's God is and also my God and the God of all who believes.

    Amen

  • Christianity is pretty gay.

  • Good stuff.

  • OH Thank God! Thank you! Finally, on you tube, A clean cut, nice looking gentleman that speaks the truth of God. I cannot look at some of these you tube sorts that look like they just crawled out from under a rock and preach hell and damnation anymore! Now, I know, I am saved because my life has changed. No more alcohol or drugs, and I'm still a work in process. But at least I don't wonder if I'm going to hell like we hearing so many others preach!

  • Amen, amen! Thank you Brother Paul for preaching the truth.

  • Give a man science, he'll learn to fish and feed himself. Give a man religion, he'll die praying for the fish.

  • @TejasM14 Give a man science and he will learn to fish and feed himself until he dies. Give a man Jesus and he will never die but have eternal life. A man of science can catch a fish, but the power of Christ will multiply that fish to feed thousands.

  • @danielthedreamer Haha give a man the bible, and turn him into a lunatic who indulges too much in wishful thinking. Eternal life, multiplying fish from thin air? Lol, really.

  • @TejasM14 Tejas when you truly trust in God you will realize that prayer and faith will provide our needs and nothing else. A proverb goes like this: I ask you Lord to not give me to much, and do not give me to little, but give me my daily bread. Does this mean that we should not work? No! For Paul said those who do not work will not eat. Yet the power of God is greater than the wisdom and knowledge of people. Eternity is written on your heart and you will realize this if you stop and think.

  • Remogogy. I know this sounds like a cliche but only Christ in you can break this satanic stronghold. You also need to be supported by Christians brethren.

  • search youtube video "Marjoe"

  • @tuzmor hahahahaha

  • After hearing this i Just want to repent again and really start being so obedient.

    But i am so weak.

Struggling constantly with addiction and anger i am almost afraid to repent because i feel im to weak and i will sin the same sin again and again.

How do i break this cycle?

I need real single mindedness and resolve.

  • @Remogogy When we see our sinful life and try to change... we fail.

That leads to despair, and finally death.

Consider Judas Iscariot's end: Matt 27:3-5

A viper can't just decide to become a bunny rabbit, and you can't just decide to stop being evil: Psalms 14 & 53; Jn 8:44

You must be born again: Jn 3:1-21

You must become a new creature: Gal 6:15

Christ died to destroy your sinful self: 1 Jn 3:1-9

He rose again to give you a new, holy life: Rom 8

Believe it, and HE will change you: Eph 2

  • @Remogogy

Turn to GOD! You can do nothing of yourself, only Christ who can dwell in us has the power to overcome the sin that so easily ensnares us. He who began a good work in you will complete. Persevere! Seek His face!

  • @Remogogy Ask specifically for God's holy spirit to convict you of your sins. Read the bible regularly so that you can constantly be reminded of what is wrong, what is right, and what Christ did for us. Pay attention to tsbockman's comment. He speaks the truth.

  • @duecepitbull So now your claiming to know when the last days are? Jesus evens says only the Father knows.

  • Ok. We love this guy and his preaching. Why? Do we love that preaching enough to do it for Christ? For others? Do we love our families? Enough to do what Washer did to make sure that man was saved before his three weeks of life were up? Do we hunger for a mere confession as long as they rattled off the prayer and got a false assurance? Have we treated the salvation of others irresponsibly? If not, perhaps that's a sign we're still fallen and the Gospel and Christ has not taken hold.

  • This is Great preaching no dout ! But one must ask where is the salvation message at? It Acts 2: 38 must be preached to the world ,then this preaching can follow .Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the GIFT of the HOLY GHOST.

  • @onlyonewayJesus1 Oneness people seem to revolve only on acts 2:38, they seem to know nothing else........... I know I go to one of those churches for many years now.

  • Wow, he IS a real preacher. I hope many were like him. Praise God for him

  • Absolutely awesome. The true gospel needs to be preached loud and long. May Christ bring many to know him through this man.

  • he is man of god, god bless you

  • I wonder what it's like to spend your life preaching lies to sheep

  • @JohnD20004 Become a Democrat and find out.

  • @YesYou123333 hahahahhahahah goooood one!

  • @YesYou123333 Well done- LOL

  • Mr. Washer, I would like a word with you.

  • This simple message is toward the message of "THE HELLBINDER"... I've only learned of Paul Washer this weekend and not to "defend him", might I remind you of how hard Jesus message was? It was soooooo hard that 5,000 left his teachings and rather than chase after them, He turned to his disciples and asked them if they would also go... He rebuked them for their ability to sleep when they should have been praying, etc... I see what he's doing sooo close to scripture.

  • @basstalk5 brother, Jesus didn't tear down people everywhere he went. There is much of Jesus life that wasn't in the bible. It never talks about the everyday life of Jesus. He was human just like everyone of us, had ambitions, dreams, had hero's, looked up to people, made friends, hung out. The bible never mentions Jesus' dad much, but I bet if you took all the people in the bible, he would be one of the unsung hero's.

  • Shh Im trying to listen quit throwing stones you are much to Holy to be convicted by the gospel but Im not sleep well in your self righteousness

  • Neither God in the old testament, or Christ in the old testament, nor Jesus in the new testament were always eating people with Hard sayings. Does this man really think that the poor sheep in his flock need to be beaten over the head week after week with this kind of stuff? I liked Paul Washer but no one is ever built up by one of his messages he only tears down. There is something wrong with that. God tears down and builds up.

  • AMEN!

  • He must have skipped over Acts 2:38 while talking to that man!!!

  • If you can't KNOW from day 1 that you are saved, then this is a false prophet!

  • @Eromhsa1 There are some people that think they are saved and they tell everyone they are saved and next thing you know they are going out and doing all the things a saved person shouldn't be doing.

  • This guy tries to sound like a real true grit preacher, but what many don't understand, is that he is a hyper-CALVINIST who believes some are predestined to go to hell. He doesn't believe in miracles today or in the gifts of the Spirit so HOW CAN HE HAVE THE WISDOM OF GOD??? These false prophets give no assurance to anyone of salvation and are in direct opposition to Paul's admonition "Let ALL things be done unto EDIFYING! He only thinks himself to be right with God.

  • If I was gona die in three weeks I wouldnt go to church and listen to this moron. This is a joke a bad joke. Sir do you understand that its made up?

Read more than the good bullshit and read all of the Bible. Its a horrible book with no morals what so ever.

    What a joke.

  • @db10001110101 may I recommend taking a look at Mark Driscoll? You're right, this guys is out to lunch.

  • @myoungtama Thanks man i'll check that out.

  • Does anyone know what sermon this clip comes from?

  • Jesus save me from your followers!

  • google Doe's Account, mindblowing.

  • lol silly Christians.... You are truly the scum of the earth.

  • @sslink1 i am the scum of the world? how is that when you are the one taking the time to come and disrespect people because of a belief. You my good man are the one acting like the scum of the world, by insulting innocent people, that have not harmed you or the thought of you has not crossed their mind. So you my brother in Christ, is the one acting like the scum in the world.

  • this evil ignorant generation needs more man like Washer. We need a man upon the ROCK to confront

  • google Doe's Account...mindblowing stuff

  • what would washer do ? go on tbn!

see him with todd freil on tbn .

two wrongs apparently do make a right.

  • I read the Bible for three years (KJV), and then one glorious morning after I decided I was going to read all of Paul's Epistles strait through, I got a NIV teaching Bible and while in Romans God did His work on me. Never looked back since, Jesus is the Lord. All to Him I owe. I was bought with a price.

  • you are a doctor of nothing that means anything to this world. You are a doctor of spreading evil ways with ur Jesus is lord speel. You are the reason why we as a people are confused as to why we need a brain washing, manipulative, dishonest, non legendary, history repeated mistake, god which is gold oil and drugs, we never need that ass hat, We needed our common fucking SENSE. wake up and stop putting ppl to sleep u ignorant pig.

  • i am agnostic. if you believe there's nothing after death, why do you live? what's the purpose of your life? to continue your generation? make some money for yourself and your family, for it to all disappear when you die? seriously what's the point. you should life your life for one reason, for happiness and fulfilment. some people find this in religion. yes, there is a lot of fucked up things within religion, but that is mainly due to ppl's stupidity.

  • for those who like to think they're so original by saying shit like "you die and your body rots and decomposes", im happy for you, seriously. life is hard right? why don't you just die now, what are you waiting for? "i'm gonna turn into dirt, YAY!" haha go fuck yourselves

  • btw someone just said what u just said before u said it:D

  • because theres nothing else to do, purpose is to live till we die, who gives a fuck about continuing the sheeple? Money is just a game of consumption, duh. i should life my life? and i live my life based on reason not for just one reason. and i will never feel fulfilled in this life cause there is no way to live out ur full life. Fuck religion, re look at agnostics. and no its not just cause ppl are stupid, the ones who are hurting u are very intelligent, they gotta feed da greed:D

  • @ryanireland187 Let me tell you what the word of God says about you thinking that you are a atheist. Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and urighteousenss of men, who SUPPRESS the truth in unrighteousenss, because what may be know of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. Your only lying to yourself. Repent and believe the Gospel. Why would you even want to take a chance?

  • God majesty is so great. He has recently revealed through science the afterlife. Google Does Account.

  • go fuck urself, end of story.

  • So true ErikeRKK. What a load of bollocks.

Religion is a blight on humanity, a systematic set of delusions and brainwashings that needs to be destroyed, as soon as everyone can grow up and see it for what it is.

Faith, belief, what meaningless, pointless qualities. Gullibility and wishful thinking are better words.

Evidence, Reason, Logic, Critical Thinking and Science will one day surpass all the voodoo, joojoo and woowoo of christianity, islam, and any other religion.

  • I don't "believe" you

  • Was this man just describing the exact way to brainwash a man..? I believe he did. In fact, I know he did. (1) Take a broken person, (2) promise them salvation, (3) repeat X to them and (4) make them say it themselves until they believe it. (5) Say that noone else can do the same thing. Now, you have a brainwashed follower.

  • @ErikeRKK

I agree with you. I like many of the things Paul Washer teaches. But I do not like this. It sounds like you described exactly what happened.

I would have told him, "Sir, I offered you everything I have, everything I know and believe to be true, but you're still in doubt. So I will stay here silently and pray and you can do whatever you wish, until you tell me to go or that you're going to go. I've done all I can and now it's in God's hands.

  • oh but there were gods and phrofets lol why were there so many years ago, and now theres none?... they also used to think some women were witches lol its amuseing how some people just have no common sence.

  • Do you people truely believe there is life after death?.... are u kidding me... your soul? lol ur die u stop breathing and thinking, then u rot then ur bones, end of story. jesus. god, hell, heaven. its really just to keep everyone in line and give people something to believe in, realistically ur no better then the spider u killed in your kitchen. u die .. yeah u die. heaven hell? lol what a joke. santa, easter bunny category

  • @kronicskater321 there IS life after death...i had an experience where i was contemplating suicide but..i was scared..i asked God to show me if i really would go to hell if i did it..and He showed me...this was in 2007 and i was in denial but..its true. there are many videos of other people with similar experiences that i had on youtube....

  • Why aren't there more charalatans like this in our mental hospitals?

  • Why arent there more men like this in our churches?

  • "Using Salvaiton as a flue shot..." well said , People believe in god/jesus christ when they are about to die .. thats when it's to late .. for there is only one way to get to god and thats trough jesus christ!

  • It's through my butt.

  • The truth people do not like to hear it.I have said that sinners prayer more times than I can count. The truth is you have to have a true repentive heart and I am still not there yet.I believe in Jesus Christ and that he died for everyones sins

I just have not had a true rebirth of my spirt. I believe we are here for a reason not just for our on pleasure and gain. I know alot of people thinks this is stupid but he did die for our sins.I do believe that.

  • Thank you for having the courage to preach the gospel so boldly and truthfully. How refreshing.

  • oh my goodness I remember a video, and what this man said, in the video it hit me and I found out I was saved! But John 3:16 is my favorite verse!

  • i went back and listened again to this pissants patroniising ramblings, when the people of this much beleagured world need real men ,real help people like him thrive with their pious bull.

  • John 3;16 is not a salvation verse for us gentiles

  • LOL I guess the part that said "(Jews Only)" was mistranslated out.

    Whosoever means whosoever.

  • here speaketh another multi millionaire conman cleaning the easily led suckers.

  • He's neither multimillionaire nor conman.

  • well i could retract the multimillionaire bit,but i bet he makes a good livin out of god,i suppose thats what 'good livin' means.

  • really? that's why he puts his life endanger preaching where Jesus is hated.......

  • Umm, you do realize that the majority of the world loves Jesus. Especially where this gentleman lives, the South. The perfect place to set up a perfect money pumper church. The Southern US is the biggest Christian area in the world. That's hardly putting his life in danger.

  • ...wrong

  • I'm glad he called out my former denomination by name.

  • Paul Washer is a great teacher... I have learned so much that God's Holy Spirit as promised in John has lead me into truth... Thanks and God bless

  • What truth?

  • Jesus Christ...

  • jellyrcw11, it's good that you know of Jesus Christ. Then do you know who God is, and his name?

  • God the Father,God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It depends on what language you use though.

  • Well, God the Father's name is Jehovah. (Yahweh in the original Hebrew Scriptures) The Son is Jesus. (Yehoshua in Hebrew) The holy spirit, it not being a god, but is the active force of God. "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life" (John 3:16) Exercising faith in him is more than just believing. If you'd like to know how to "exercise" faith in him, feel free to ask.

  • Ha ha...chevymang72: you're obviously a Jehovah's Witness...shouldn't you be avoiding apostate preachers from Babylon the Great? LOL watch out or you might get disfellowshipped, buddy. Nice try.

  • @djhomeslice - i just read your reply. hadn't checked my messages. anyway, you're wrong. i'm not Jehovah's Witnesses, yet. I'm studying for truth, and it does seem that Jehovah's Witnesses is the only religion to not contradict the Bible as other religions do.

  • they found Sodom and Gomorrah, fact. Also people have become ex-homosexuals through Jesus.... another fact

  • In response to you reply in regards to demons. Jesus did everything in the Gospel to give us an example of what we are to do. Jesus said Believers are to cast out demons Mark 16 : 17 and Believers have demons as explained in the Bible . The daughter of Abraham was a Believer and had a spirit of infirmity that Jesus cast out.

    Helena

  • this is good folks. some preachers cant give an alter call. less preach. hey and this is a charismatic talking... preach on

  • If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, and the new is come. No change, no Christ. No Christ, no change.

  • If you check the Scriptures you will discover that neither Jesus or the Disciples ever cast a demon out of a spirit filled born again believer . The Bible clearly states you cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons ( 1.Cor 10:21 ) . Many other scriptures show that saved Christians cannot be demon possessed .

  • Hello,

I have to mention that why doesn't Paul Washer talk about cast out of demons ? A large percentage of Jesus's Ministry was casting out demons.

  • It was necessary and prevelant to cast out demons because Jesus hadn't died on the cross yet, and the Holy Spirit had not come. W/o the penalty for sin being paid nor the Holy Spirit to live in one's heart, demons needed to be cast out. Now we have the Spirit and the Word of God, casting out demons isn't so common. We can speak the Word to the lost, and they can be saved. Even if we cast out a demon, unless the Holy Spirit comes in, another demon could repossess someone!

  • I really was inspired last sunday by my preacher and I videotaped it to share with you all... type in SPIRIT OF TRUTH... watch and learn

  • i wanna know why ppl have to talk about speaking in tongues....yes it is evidence but if you dont speak in tongues does it mean you arent saved? no...it is a gift like prophesy and etc

  • There is no scripture in the Bible that says that all christians will speak in tongues if they are truly saved. There are false teachings. If you research this you may find some interesting info where some have been caught cursing God in Hebrew while appearing to praise him in an unknown language... Hmmm. Tongues is a gift but some are speaking as demons & are not of the Holy Spirit. You will know them by their fruit.

  • i agree that Paul does point out conviction, but when he speaks of the mans attitude towards his sin, that is repentance

  • Great video.

  • The last illustration that Paul Washer used about the people checking their watches looking for an escape from the church service was a good one. However he is incorrect as to what that feeling is. It is not repentance. It is conviction. the next step is repentance.

  • Repentance

    Baptism in Jesus Name

The infilling of the Holyghost with the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.

This is the plan of salvation.

  • Someone should have told Jesus and Paul, they seemed to have a different understanding:

John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Acts 16:31 And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

  • You probably need to do an in depth study on the word, "believe"...

  • Sure, here's a few more:

Jn 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Jn 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Jn 6:35 "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

  • Or do you mean a study to show me that believe means to turn from my sins (but not actually stop doing them, just feel really sorry for them)? Or that believe means to make Jesus the "lord of my life" (meaning I have to be willing to give up 'everything' to follow Jesus, but not actually, because I'll still stumble and sin but at least I'll feel really bad about it).?

Believe means believe. If your "repent of your sins to be saved" doctrine was biblical, u wouldn't have to redefine "believe"

  • Jesus defined belief in the gospel.

  • Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

  • Have a listen to this fraudster Paul Washer. he knows that there is no evidence in what he is selling and preys on sheep to believe all mythical, fantasy nonsense. Religion = FRAUD. Miracles, afterlife, angels - please, what Harry Potter nonsense.

  • he doesnt get paid well. hes not selling anything. lol.. i understand your hurting. im sorry and i'll pray for you.

  • why are you listening to him?

  • AMEN!

  • It all depends on ones theology on the soul - whether it goes directly to Heaven or whether it 'sleeps' until the last day. It is a difficult issue.

Samuel could mean that Saul&his sons will die the next day (would logically explain Saul's fear). There is no evidence of faith in Saul's life, none of his action was motivated by it. He gave not a single reason for believing his heart was set on the love for God.

  • before JESUS died on the cross, people were left in the grave.after JESUS rose from the grave heaven was opend to those born again belivers.when JESUS was in the heart of the earth ,it says he set the captive free, preaching in hell,he holds the keys to death hell and the grave, there is no soul sleeping.

  • And I know many theologians who would disagree. And a lot who would agree, and there is also a group that thinks something completely different.

I am not acquainted with the issue enough to have opinion strongly established.

But I am grateful you shared your view on these things.

  • The choice isn't between "praying a prayer" and "repenting of your sins your whole life." The Bible teaches consistently that salvation is by faith through grace to ALL who BELIEVE. Was God lying in John 3:16? A man can believe in Jesus Christ and not have everlasting life? Here's a challenge: find the phrase "repent of your sins" or any variation thereof in any literal translation of the bible. Guess what, it's not there. Washer really knows how to present strawman argument, though.

  • Luke 13:3 Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.

  • Man cannot believe and not repent. If one truly believes what God has spoken about himself one will hate what one has done and turn to God as the only Lord.

And the preacher is correct - if you truly believed you will continue in faith, and if you believe you also repented and continue to repent.

  • Acts 16:

30Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Too bad Paul didn't realize that he needed to spend three weeks locked in a room with the jailer to make him feel really, really sorry for his sins.

We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own sorrow for our sin, turning over a new leaf, or living a good life. John 3:18; John 11:25; Acts 2:21; Acts 8:37etc

  • Too bad that the evidence of being in the New covenant is loathing your previous deeds. Do not tell me that if one realizes God is real and his heart is changed to love his Maker he will not hate all he has done against God (which is basically his every doing) and would be broken over it.

It is simply absurd. And we all know from James there is a faith that saves (which is proven by change of the heart revealed in what we do) and there is one that is just an empty one.

  • 1. How about some Scripture to back up your assumptions? Saul was saved, yet he sinned regularly and even committed suicide. God punished him, but he was saved. Believers should seek to live holy lives, but if they don't, they're still saved. When God gives eternal life, he means it.

    2. The book of James is written to believers (brothers). James is talking about practical faith, not salvation. He is saying your faith is worthless to a hungry man if you don't give him food. Context....

  • Saul was saved? How about any proof of that?

Ezekiel 36, Jeremiah 31 (entire chapters - both speak on the New Covenant) - oh, really? They are saved if they are not changed?

If God says he changes ones heart he means it.

James is written to believers (at least those who say they believe). And he explains how absurd it is to say one is saved and has no works. (He gave an example of Abraham to prove he was JUSTIFIED because his faith was manifested in workd)

  • + I recommend Washer's sermon 'Shocking youth message'. He uses Christ's sermon on the Mount to explain the issue.

I just want to explain again that we do not claim one is saved by the works. BUT that saving faith (one given by God, through which he sends his HS to change our hearts, sanctify us, lead us, etc) is manifested in our actions.

  • 1 Samuel 29:19. After Saul consults the Witch of Endor, Samuel appears to Saul & tells him that the Lord was punishing him for his disobedience & that Saul and his sons "will be with me" tomorrow. Even though Samuel was summoned by a medium, the bible makes clear the spirit really was Samuel: the medium recognized him and was terrified; Saul recognized him; his prophecy was 100% accurate; and, the bible refers to the spirit as "Samuel." If Samuel was saved, which he was, so was Saul.

  • Consider Lot, a righteous mane. Yet none of his conduct as described in Genesis describes a man who was submitting to Christ's lordship. He was saved by faith in Christ in spite of his own sinful deeds and his love affair with people so sinful God killed them.

Salvation through Christ is freely available to all who ask for it. Jesus said living water was free to any who ask, including the sinful Samaritan woman. He didn't say she must "repent of her sins" first. Why do you?

  • 'his own sinful deeds and his love affair '

One example please, just one and I will be fine.

Lot recognized and saved the servants of God - he was even ready to give up his daughters for their sake.

Peter tells us in his 2nd letter Lot was a righteous man and the fact he went with Abram and saved the messengers proves he was a godly man.

Nowhere I have said deeds save us. But deeds proves what we believe in. It is faith alone that saves but faith in manifested in our conduct.

  • And we do sin even as those saved by God, but our reaction to sin (repentance) proves our hearts has been changed.

  • My problem with Washer's teaching (and yours) is that you make "repentance of sin" a prerequisite for salvation. The only prerequisite for salvation is faith in Jesus Christ. In John 4, Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that if she had asked, he would have given her living water. Jesus knew the sinful lifestyle the woman was in, but he didn't say he'd give her the living water if she moved out from the man she lived with. He said if she asked, he'd give it freely.

  • faith does not exist apart from repentance. You cannot say you truly trusted in God and yet not turned away from all the abominable idols you had, you cannot say you love God and yet have the same attitude towards sin as before the change in your heart took place. It is just not a reality.

Or would you prefer to cut James out of the Bible, or the teaching on the Mountain (did you even listen to the sermon on this issue by Washer as I suggested?)

  • ... and this is why the gospel call of Jesus (and John the Baptist, and Peter) was 'repent and believe'. They do not exist separately.

  • You should set aside your preconceptions & seek out the biblical definition of repentance. Repent does not mean "turn from sin." Repent means to have a change of mind. Paul tells us in Acts 19:4 what John meant when he said to repent. Yes, we must repent of our unbelief.

Query: Can a man who is living in sin with his girlfriend get saved if he isn't willing to stop fornicating with her? If your answer is no, you believe in works salvation, plain and simple.

  • If one's mind changes one's deeds will follow. If someone believes in God it will affect the way he lives.

If here was a boy who come to me and said: 'I believe in God, I believe Jesus died for sins and I believe I am going to heaven. But in knowing all of this I am not really willing to stop doing things that are hideous to this God.'

He is a liar. He does not believe because of John 1:6.

I believe faith changes who we are. Just as the Bible teaches.

  • + I John 2:3-5.

  • There is a difference between being saved and being in fellowship with God. If we sin, we can break fellowship with God, but we're still saved. Why else would David ask God to restore the "joy" of his salvation after sinning with Bathsheeba and killing Uriah?

1 John 5:1-12 says that people who believe in Jesus Christ as their savior are saved; those who don't, aren't. There is no category 3 for people who believe Jesus is the Christ but just haven't repented of their sins enough.

  • But this isn't what Paul Washer is preaching. He told this man that he had to properly "repent" before he could be saved. Is salvation through faith or isn't it? Was Jesus lying to the woman at the well when He said he would give her living water if she asked? She didn't repent of her sin.

You never answered my question: if a person is living in sin with a woman and wants to be saved, must he stop fornicating if he wants to be saved? In other words, is it faith, or faith plus works?

  • Romans 3:10 says that no one is righteous, and this includes Lot. His righteousness as described by Peter came from Lot's faith in Christ.

As for examples, read Gen. 19. Lot, who was not just a resident of Sodom, but a leader who sat at the Gate, refers to the Sodomites as his "brothers." Then, in verse 16 he doesn't even want to leave, despite the knowing destruction was imminent. He had to be seized by the angels and dragged out. Then he got so drunk he slept with his own daughters.

  • 'and if he rescued righteous Lot, GREATLY DISTRESSED by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was TORMENTING his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard)' (2 Peter)

... so you suggest Lot partook in their lawless deeds. So you really think that righteousness of Lot (which was given by God no doubt) was not manifested in his hatred for sin.

  • His soul was tormented. His flesh was not. This is true of all believers. Gal. 5:17. I never said that a born again believer can live a life of sin with no consequences (in this life). God will chastise his children.

The bible suggests that Lot took part in their lawless deeds. Again, he refers to the Sodomites as "brothers." That has meaning. He had to be forcefully removed. That has meaning. He got blind drunk. That has meaning. Lot was righteous only by the blood of Jesus Christ.

  • "We are saved by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone".... James is the basis for this. :)

  • So you believe in a faith plus works gospel? Just wondering.

  • well, we are saved by grace through faith

  • The two go hand in hand but in all reality you can not really ask for salvation if you do not see a need for it in your life. And if you do not see the deepth of your wickedness you can not see your need for a savior.

  • Any scriptural authority for that? It's true we must know that we need salvation to ask for it. But the bible doesn't teach we must "see the depth of our wickedness" to be saved. Read Acts 19. The Ephesian believers waited TWO years after salvation to get rid of their books of sorcery! Did they understand the depth of their wickedness when they were saved? All that's required f
