The "War" is Iraq (which is what I've correctly indicated in every post). The LIE was that we were going SPECIFICALLY after Bin Laden and once that was accomplished we would get out. It is now obvious this claim was a smoke screen because Bin Laden is NOT in Afghanistan nor WAS HE when we INVADED! And this "UN" involvement you speak of is only for domestic peace purposes, NOT any allied combat efforts aiding the U.S. So, strike two on that! And, are you joking about the lies told to the UN?
And to continue to educate you, the UN passed two resolutions, neither of which authorized the use of military force in Afghanistan. Resolutions 1368 & 1373 condemned the 9-11 attacks and ordered the freezing of assets, criminalizing of terrorists, prevention of support for terrorist attacks, and prevention of terrorist activities. Invasion of Afghanistan was not self-defense per article 51 of the charter because the attacks on 9-11 were criminal attacks, not "armed attacks" by another country.

If your going to debate or protest an issue at least get your facts straight. The recruiting office in Berkeley doesn't recruit at the High School. It is an officer recruiting center only, and they must be close to graduating from College to be a candidate.
As a Berkeley High School student, I am tired of the recruiters in suits that wait outside my school and try to sell my friend's lives for oil by lying to them. Personally, I don't see why someone who really wants to fight can't just drive five minutes to another office. But for the marines to be so close to us is very unfair.

The "War" is Iraq (which is what I've correctly indicated in every post). The LIE was that we were going SPECIFICALLY after Bin Laden and once that was accomplished we would get out. It is now obvious this claim was a smoke screen because Bin Laden is NOT in Afghanistan nor WAS HE when we INVADED! And this "UN" involvement you speak of is only for domestic peace purposes, NOT any allied combat efforts aiding the U.S. So, strike two on that! And, are you joking about the lies told to the UN?

And to continue to educate you, the UN passed two resolutions, neither of which authorized the use of military force in Afghanistan. Resolutions 1368 & 1373 condemned the 9-11 attacks and ordered the freezing of assets, criminalizing of terrorists, prevention of support for terrorist attacks, and prevention of terrorist activities. Invasion of Afghanistan was not self-defense per article 51 of the charter because the attacks on 9-11 were criminal attacks, not "armed attacks" by another country.

If your going to debate or protest an issue at least get your facts straight. The recruiting office in Berkeley doesn't recruit at the High School. It is an officer recruiting center only, and they must be close to graduating from College to be a candidate.

As a Berkeley High School student, I am tired of the recruiters in suits that wait outside my school and try to sell my friend's lives for oil by lying to them. Personally, I don't see why someone who really wants to fight can't just drive five minutes to another office. But for the marines to be so close to us is very unfair.

First, if they stay to themselves and do what is in their job description, I have no problem with the Berkeley Marine Core office If someone wants to fight in a war, I have no right to tell them they can't. Going for high school students is overstepping it, though. Second, from the vibe I get from the countries you conservatives hate, Berkeley is the absolute LAST place that will get attacked.
