There are different approaches or "schools of thought" in Islamic law, just like in any other religion. I'm an American Muslim. My parents used to rave on about the US's great human rights policies. How tolerant this country is towards ppl. of all faith. There are different approaches or "schools of thought" in Islamic law, just like in any other religion. I certainly disagree with the notion that many Americans hold, the idea that Muslims are a homogeneous cultural body that seek to impose their laws on others through acts of brutality. However, there are enough of us out here that are non-religious who would very much like to remain that way, so I'm afraid we cannot support the imposition of any religious law.
