I work 3rd, 11pm to 8am. Yes, 9 not 8 hours. I'm a nurse so it's not so bad. we can't sleep but we can pretty much do whatever until our beaper goes off or it's time to do rounds.
I feel for these people. I work 3rd shift but am lifting 50lb boxes and pulling around 1000lb pallets of product all night. And doing it alone. And then being tired like this on top of it. Im sure a call center is boring but these people would quit in a day doing what i have to do all night. Gotta pay bills

Shoot, I get paid 7.75 an hour to do work that requires almost 10 to 14 dollars an HOUR! On top of that, the boss is an asshole. Sorry my language, but he is. He's mean all the time and his breath smells. I'd rather die than be there to tell you the truth. Dying in my own feces and liquids than do overnight!

The thought of going there sickens me to my stomach. I have to deal with a: 36- year old virgin perfectionist manager with bad breath and horrible teeth. The guy is trying to holla' at some chick at star-bucks who ain't too bad looking, but it's just not cutting it. I know she smells his funky ass breath all day.

I'm constantly training new officers because the one that I just got done training kept falling asleep on the job or couldn't fit the hours into their schedule. Good 3rd shifters are hard to come by I suppose.

Sorry but they are sinning because Sunday is the sabbath day and it is a day of rest and you cannot work on that day because it is a holy day. God created the universe in 6 days and on the 7th day he rested.

Well, this is 100% opposite of the type of work I do on 3rd shift. I would feel guilty for every penny I got if i were these people. (the people sleeping, anyway.)
I worked 3rd shift many years ago I enjoyed it for few yrs.....you can handle it for a while, you just need to establish a sleeping pattern BUT if you have loud people in your home or friends and family calling & dropping by at all hours during the afternoon and early evening when you are trying to sleep even when you've told them not to....well it won't work for you if you don't establish boundaries at home - you will be like these sleeping, overweight toads on the job.
I waited on hold for almost an hour during this time and when someone finally answered, the guy sounded like he literally just woke up... this video proves my theory. xD
Oddly enough I wasn't irritated at all, despite the horrible looping elevator music... I found it funny, but felt genuinely bad for the guy. That must suck. May the force be with you, 3rd-Shiftees...

You actually arent allowed to sleep...Unless there arent many calls coming in or you are the TL's/Process Incharge's favorite...Sad for others who plan to join the 3rd shift after watching this video...
@gbboi Unfortunately, since you get paid for every second you're there at work on your 3rd shift, I don't believe it was right for you to sleep - instead of providing the services you were working for. @zencarol because when I have an issue on an item I purchase and it says 24/7 support. I expect to have someone answer when I call. No matter the time. Also sometimes it is the only time i can call. Also if you don't like your job then find another one.
