Villazon is the worst tenor ever to be famous!! All of his fame is based on PR.

His singing is weak at best, but more often a complete disaster and an insult to other "real tenors" who must be flabbergasted by his popularity. But of course...if Vanessa Mae is considered a great violin player and Bocelli the "greatest tenor"...Then we must conclude that people are uneducated and havent listened to masters from the past! Violin: Kogan, Szeryng, -Tenors: Bjorling, Schmidt just to mention a few.

En plus d'une voix superbe ,Villazon est vraiment un très bon comédien.

Je suis toujours sous le charme ,je ne me lasse pas de voir et revoir cet opéra.

For those critical of Mr. Villazon, this was right before he faced up to the horrendous vocal problem he was having, and that surgery has kept him from the stage until just now(2010).

Opera was not meant to be viewed as we do with these videos, but rather, from the distance of the house From there, Ms.Dessay is perfection in this role-Manon is only 15- and her acting abilities convince you that she is just a young, vulnerable girl with none of the deviousness so evident in others.

June 6 Premiere London. "The pick of the cast was undoubtedly Rolando Villazón,in the title role. His first word - "Fontainebleau" - full of the passion and yearning suffused his entire performance.

This production is Carlo's story, a tragedy on a Shakespearean scale, and Rolando, in magnificent form, provided a charismatic centre.

His Carlo was a Spanish Hamlet, immature, impulsive and ruled by his passions...No restraint for Rolando, whose ardor ran unchecked in desire for Elisabetta

On a positive note...I hope Villazon has taken some advice from Dessay on proper singing techniques. She's superb.

I heard in the media that Villazón was heavily criticised after his performance 2007 in el Liceu... Was it because of Manon? Is that true?

Each time I see it always amazed how incredible singer-actor Villazon is. It sounds and looks like a life.. so warm, natural, beautiful and duo with Dessay is outstanding.

I sure wish her performances were caught on DVD more often. It seems like she always misses out to Patricia Ciofi(Lucie Di Lammermoor, La Fille du regiment) whom I don't care for.
