Worked from 1992-1994 as a corpsman on 8 north (post-partum) at Naval Hospital Oakland. It sure is sad to see it gone. I've got some great memories from having been stationed there.
I used to work on 4th floor, Internal Medicine. They had many excellent doctors as well as nurses. Unless you worked within that building, these spectators will not fully understand how important to have a very functional hospital like this one and it is not really fun to be seeing anything being destroyed also.
@sandralee9 My friend lived on the site and her mom worked at the hospital for many years. Heard they were going to put in some apartments on the site.
