There was an episode of Fallon where the roots did like a 70's marvin gaye type song, and kirk took a solo that was literally of of the most passionate creative and amazing solos I have ever heard in my life. No joke. Guy doesn't fuck around.
Ernie Isley killed on the Experience Hendrix tour "doing" Jimi with Billy Cox and Chris Layton. The best part was his telling the stories of JImi living in his house when he was a kid.
But for sure the Captain here is one bad motherfucker. I ain't hard to be the baddest cat in hip-hop, but he can hold his own with any rock player too! I think this video proves that. I really did not realize this until he did a Jimmy Fallon Show commercial just ripping it. My new favorite.
So you like guitar solos?.. Kirk isn't bad, great player, but check out..." Ernie Isley, Back To Square One".. posted by mrsoulman212 This is how good a player can get when the mighty Hendrix, used to hang out with his older brothers, Ernie is an amazing player, and can play left, right guitars each as well, and did so, with the soaring leads on the tune" Who's that Lady", by the Isley Brothers. check him out, if you like to hear a man shred an ax
For nearly 20 years I've been saying Ernie Isley is the most underrated dude! When I worked at Larrabee Sound in WeHo the techs would be like "oh yeah, that guy". Yeah, him!
I checked out Ernie Isley Back to Square One.Incredible, This man is above and beyond!,up in Hendrix territory! Ernie WAS the dude that soared all over Who's That Lady, and lived with Hendrix when he was young..Jimi has to be smiling down on him. thanks for the tip
