I never understood this. If you're going to watch this for its beauty and you're not religious. Why would you even comment about your views on the Catholic Church and offend someone? Why not just keep it to yourself in respect of others and the beauty of the piece?
God answers ALL prayers. Sometimes HE answers "Yes." Sometimes because we ask for something that we have no need for, HE says "No." Sometimes HE says, "No ..." and the "..." means, "Wait, I am brewing up an answer to your prayer that you will be amazed at, if you are patient enough to wait for MY perfect timing."
Being agnostic/atheist and listening to this is profound. I love it, really. It's relaxing, makes me happy, and then it has a religious feel to it, so it's a case and point to use towards atheists who want to eradicate all religion entirely.

Blessed Mother is the greatest woman to have lived in this earth and rightly she is the Queen of Heaven. I always think of her response to the Angel. As any other young woman she would have been planning for a wedding with Joseph. But she surrendered all her plans to the will of God. What a beautiful heart she would have had. We don't consider as GOD for we know The trinity is higher than Mary but we should always ask for her or for the other saint's intercession since she and they are closer to God than we are. Ave Maria is a prayer we say everyday at Mass as Catholics, and the last part means "Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us now and at the hour of our death." We have statues of her, as a reminder to us, of whom we are asking to pray for us. She is not our God. Just our Mother. If you look at the translation of this prayer it pretty much tells you what we believe in.

Ok! I am still learning about Christianity and am asking this with sole purpose of knowledge and not for debates with idiot.
God is omnipresent, so why cant we talk directly to him? Holy Spirit and Jesus are also God and it makes sense to pray to them, but as far as I know, Mary was human. What is the point praying to her while we can pray directly to the omnipresent and loving God who is more than willing to forgive our sins?
@nikgokuhil I think your main question here is about Mary, right? The point of praying to her is this ~ she is the Mother of Jesus, so the Mother of God. If you look at the Ave Maria, it raises two main things to this question, first, the Angel Gabriel said to her "Hail Mary, Full of Grace” So he is telling us here that she is full of grace – meaning without a taint on her soul. She is pure, sinless, she has no blemish on her soul, she has never done a thing wrong in the eyes of the Lord.
@nikgokuhil Whereas when you look at us, how many countless things have we done wrong in our lives? We are not sinless, nor pure, we are born with original sin, whereas she, was not (do you want me to go into why? Just ask :] ) So if we were to make a prayer to God, ours would be tainted by our sin. God forgives us for our sins, but that does not erase the fact that we did them. Our souls are tainted by our sins, even if He has forgiven us for them.

However if we were to ask Mary to pray to God for us, her prayer would be taintless. Another reason why we pray to Mary is because she is the Mother of Jesus. But as he said it himself, she was favored by the Lord. How is holding her in high regard failing to respect her? Blessed Mother is the greatest woman to have lived in this earth and rightly she is the Queen of Heaven. I always think of her response to the Angel. As any other young woman she would have been planning for a wedding with Joseph. But she surrendered all her plans to the will of God. What a beautiful heart she would have had. I am not a Catholic, but I love her from the depths of my heart. If not for her response we would not have God visiting the earth. Thank you Mother.

I think every person that considers themselves Christian should hold the Son of God's mother in as high regard as they hold their own. We don't consider as GOD for we know The trinity is higher than Mary but we should always ask for her or for the other saint's intercession since she and they are closer to God than we are. Its like Jesus is our King and Mary is our Queen, and as for any other royalty, we as mere human beings should be humble enough to know that we are unworthy of God's presence so that's why it is a more humble way to pray through the saints and Our Lady

@freest2dogg We don't put her as our God. We venerate her, we pray to her, asking her to pray for us - to God, her Son. Ave Maria is a prayer we say everyday at Mass as Catholics, and the last part means "Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us now and at the hour of our death." We have statues of her, as a reminder to us, of whom we are asking to pray for us. She is not our God. Just our Mother. If you look at the translation of this prayer it pretty much tells you what we believe in.

God is omnipresent, so why cant we talk directly to him? Holy Spirit and Jesus are also God and it makes sense to pray to them, but as far as I know, Mary was human. What is the point praying to her while we can pray directly to the omnipresent and loving God who is more than willing to forgive our sins?

@nikgokuhil I think your main question here is about Mary, right? The point of praying to her is this ~ she is the Mother of Jesus, so the Mother of God. If you look at the Ave Maria, it raises two main things to this question, first, the Angel Gabriel said to her "Hail Mary, Full of Grace” So he is telling us here that she is full of grace – meaning without a taint on her soul. She is pure, sinless, she has no blemish on her soul, she has never done a thing wrong in the eyes of the Lord.

We are not sinless, nor pure, we are born with original sin, whereas she, was not (do you want me to go into why? Just ask :] ) So if we were to make a prayer to God, ours would be tainted by our sin. God forgives us for our sins, but that does not erase the fact that we did them. Our souls are tainted by our sins, even if He has forgiven us for them.

However if we were to ask Mary to pray to God for us, her prayer would be taintless. Another reason why we pray to Mary is because she is the Mother of Jesus. We are only the brother and sisters of Christ, if we were to ask Him for something, He might consider it, but if His mother was to ask Him, then wouldn’t we have a better chance? ;D
