@MB7classical To me there is a big event of some sort going on- it could be a giant storm or something else. Either way as you say it has tension, so it doesn't immediately seem to be something good.
I think I've heard this type of music used in old warmovies that where mute.
O God - Hollywood has done so much harm to serious music! For instance, I can't listen to Mozart now without thinking of those awful movie soundtracks from the 1930s. And who can listen to Varèse these days without thinking of Star Trek?
@gonrolgonrol That's partly it. Another reason is that he's been over-praised by the over-educated. These people and their loopy opinions don't impress me. They are to music what fundamentalists are to religion.
To me, Mozart's music rings largely hollow. It's innovative. But is it great? I find it mostly shallow and frivolous. I don't see how his music is an advance over the best of the Baroque era, in terms of sheer artistic merit. Give me Rameau. Now there's a soulful artist.
@TheFutureClassics I love this idea of using just one photo. It gives the photo time to respond to every nuance in the music. Fascinating to watch! : D
Beautifully mysterious piece!
What is this about in your opinion Mark- i.e. what is the story in the music? :)

@gonrolgonrol Something vast and stormy - panoramic - full of tension and exoticism. Tolstoy could think of a story to go with this!
What does it suggest to you? ...

@MB7classical Was it so common to use Mozart in the movies in the 1930s?
gonrolgonrol 3 months ago
@gonrolgonrol It was common for the composers of movie scores from that era to IMITATE Mozart! - ad nauseam. 8 P

@parlophonman I know. Every track from Ma's "Solo" album is blocked in Germany. And I'm just surprised that it isn't blocked everywhere! 8 (

@daiva196510 Symphonic music seems always to suggest cloudscapes and mountainscapes. : D
