@merrypeary These guys were nothing short of amazing back then, From 1978 up thru 1994 in Mempis with Steve doing his solo act...saw Steve & them 19 times.. Course back then at 17 lol...all we did was work & spend our money on concert tickets.. & have to say don't regret any of it... Fantastic memories with friends....
@daspudster01 WOW....19 Times..... Well at least you were lucky enough to go see them live. I was just a little younger than you and seems like working is all I did in my teens. I wouldn't of been allowed to go. I'd so be there now if the real Journey performed together again. Hell, I'd travel anywhere in the Continental United States to see Steve Perry sing the phone book.
@merrypeary I grad HS at 16 1/2 & moved out on my own @17 & fell into a great career by accident.. Back then in the late 70s the sponsors would come out with , what I would call now as choice tickets..or group tickets? You could pick & choose which bands you wanted to see in concert & group them all together for a great price. Since there was about a dozen of us that did it lol..we all got great ticket prices & seats.I can remember some of the older guys, couldn't believe cheap price tickys then
@daspudster01 Oh, You should of ran up there and grabbed a hug like that girl in the pic did. One of the Security Guard was right on her rear LOL. Steve was smiling. She got her hug though.
@merrypeary If I was thinking at the time, I should have thrown the b/f up there to distract the security LOL... and then made a beeline for a hug lol...
Dixie Highway looks like it was a really fun song to perform live. Neal Schon gets carried away on his guitar in this video. Unfortunately for me it wasn't literally though.
What A band. Neil's just the most overlooked guitarist... he was, is brilliant. What a solo! The whole band was top notchers... man.
