also, while we're on the subject - is he not a singer AND a vocalist? - singer implies that he sings and vocalist implies being in a band rather than being a trained opera singer or whatnot. Singer and vocalist can mean the same thing(as in to be a vocalist you must be able to sing) but it can also mean very different things - vocalist, to me, implies more experimentation with diverse techniques whereas singer in my opinion is more related to the classical tradition. Maybe? :)

@OpakeArawra2 Not really, a singer who aims to have a tone perfect voice, and whose music relies entirely on thier voice, with perhaps just a beat in the background, artists like Bonnie Tyler or Tina Turner are singers, vocalists are often fronts to a band, who, whilst not being able to sing that well, have a voice that compliments the music. Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, for example, hasn't got that good a voice, but he's in the worlds biggest band, because it works. Idiot.
