Saw this cartoon ONCE on TV and never saw it again. This was probably recorded from that very broadcast.
Never forgot it. Mainly because the theme music resembled the music in Tri-Star's logo sequence. For a period of time, I often wondered if Tri-Star's Pegasus was Luno.
I loved this cartoon and watched it regularly as well. I watched in the mid 70s in Dallas, TX. I now have four live horses, but none of them fly like Luno.
Yes this is amazing!!! I found this after a convoluted Google search! Thank you so much for posting. Memories! I have the Poochie video mentioned by Jal8919536 too!

Wow!!! Last cartoon I saw before I headed to school to start 1st grade. Forget a lot of stuff the last 40+ years but remember like yesterday., Leo81960 thank you for the blast!!
@Piratejenny25 So was I. I was thinking "Luno" but didn't trust my own memory - LOL! Being a (very) amateur musician, that "luno" tune was in my head haha.
@bittersylence1 . I was born in 67. This was one of my favorite cartoons. Luno the flying horse. Great stuff. Good memories. You are not the only one. lol
OMG! This was my MOST FAVORITE every day cartoon of all! This cartoon gave me ideas of adventure of having a horse. That's why I collected those Breyer horses, and still have them too, for over 40 years! Such pure and innocent cartoons unlike those of today! Great memories!!!! Thanks!
OMG I Had totally forgotten about this cartoon. Because of all the cartoon gems from way back, I'm practically glued to this site. YouTube absolutely rocks!!!!
The Boy AKA Tim was preformed by the late great voice over actor Robert McFadden in the first Luno cartoon Tim was voiced by a female voiceover actress before Robert McFadden took over the role as the voice of Tim.
"Luno" was originally part of the syndicated "ASTRONUT SHOW" Terrytoons produced in the fall of 1963 {it might have turned up on their "HECTOR HEATHCOTE SHOW" on NBC as well}. Some of the Luno episodes were given theatrical release, as this one was in July 1964. Art Bartsch directed, Phil Scheib provided the music score, and Bob McFadden provided all the voices...

I have thought of this cartoon so many times over the years. I saw a search in google for it and felt like that person did... like I had imagined this show. THANK YOU for reviving some very fond memories & proving to me I wasn't totally nuts!
I remember living in Hawaii in the mid to late seventies when my dad was stationed at Schofield Barracks. I would come home from school and would watch this cartoon. A lot of great memories. Thanks, leo81960 for posting this.
Me too! I lived in Hawaii til I was 9 then moved to Los Angeles in '75. This cartoon brought back so many memories of the late 60's early 70's in Hawaii for me. This cartoon inspired my collection of Breyer horses! It was a strange hobby for a boy like me to collect while growing up in Hawaii.
It was during Checkers & Pogo on KGMB. They also played cartoons Milton the Monster, Mighty Mouse, and Fearless Fly "banzai!!!!"... And the commercials included the Exchange-juice, Ponderose Pines with that hawaiian kid, i think his name was kalani, and he said "fo shua", and also commercials with Meadow Gold's Creamsicle ice creams. Yup! those good ol days... flip the channel to KIKU and we'd watch Kamen Ridah !
Used to watch this as a child. One of my favorites!!!!! Prince planet was another great one. Good memories!!
