  • Before I make my comment I want to say that I love Frank Sinatra. Great singer, entertainer, a symbol of an American long gone. That being said, this version of the song by Joe Williams blows Sinatra out of the water!!! Its always always always been my favorite. I cringe when I hear any other version!!! Also, best ending of any Steve Martin movie. Love it love it!

  • I have heard this song performed by many artists including Billie Holliday and Willie Nelson, but Joe Williams did it best right here!!!!!

  • I would so love to dance with Steve Martin - he's gorgeous.

Great film and he is very comical. :)

  • wonder if they got injured from that fall in the end

  • @jimena1928

  • This is one of the greatest closing credits sequences I've ever seen.

  • Carl Reiner's 1984 movie "All Of Me" is Funny classic starring two comic legends Steve Martin & Lily Tomlin. And the title song is very, very memorable.

  • yes! and the song "All of Me" is just perfect for the film, both of the melody and the lyrics.. =)

  • I went to see this six times back in 84. One of my favorite comedies of all time. I recently had the chance to interview the great Lily Tomlin, and to tell her "Thank you" for the wonderful work that she did in that film that has brought me so much laughter these past 25 years. Lily Tomlin was wonderful and fun and gracious and hilarious to speak with. I'll be meeting her this Friday when I see her live. I can't wait to meet my beloved Ernestine, not to mention Edwina Cutwater, lol

  • WOW... O.o

you've met Lily Tomlin?! even interviewed her?

    that's awesome!

how's she? she's still in good health right? she must be like.. what? 50 plus?

    ermm, who's Ernestine?

  • Lily actually turned 70 this year. Surprise, huh? Ernestine is the name of her phone operator character.

  • @fossefan

whoa.. i didn't realize she's that... old.. hope she's doing really fine though. she's a great actress.

  • I can't thank you enough! I've actually been looking for this version of this great song for years! Thanks for posting it and never, ever take it down!

  • it's been a really long time since i've seen this movie. saw this when i was a kid.

  • Joe Williams recorded the song specifically for the movie. Billy May did the arrangement and Pat Williams was the conductor. Steve Martin and Carl Reiner were in the control booth and were "grooving". I was at the session..........

  • Thanx for the info! I'll tell the other guy who had been asking bout this.

you WERE at the session? wow, as what? if you don't mind telling us. ^^

  • YOU... WERE AT THE SESSION....?!!!

You have just earned one solid and congratulatory "wow" from me.

  • Do you know where this version of this wonderful song might be available? I love Joe WIlliams vocals on this wonderful standard. Thanks

  • hi there.. i dunno... maybe u could search at the internet.. but i have the mp3 version of this clip.

  • Wonderful film and a wonderful version of this great standard.

  • Does anyone know if this recording of All Of Me by Joe Williams is one he did for a previous album or if he recorded it specifically for this film? I love this version and would love to have on an mp3 :-)

  • hmm... i'm not sure. but i do have the mp3 version of this song.

  • Where did you get the mp3 of this wonderful song?

  • oh, i hv the movie.. ^^

so what i did was.. put it in windows movie maker.. cut the ending credits, and convert it into mp3. voila!

  • What does " hv " the movie mean??

  • When I see them dancing, I remember that dancing can be fun as well as beauty.

I wouldn't cut any piece of this final part! From Prahka Laasa with his piano solo to the last part of the credits... Perrfect!

I guess that you need to know the movie, though.

Thank you for posting this part!

  • Thanx to you too for commenting. ;)

Ooooh, i nearly cut all the talking scenes above. but i thought i saved some of it. =)

  • How about "Are you sure this is what you want?" and the horse nods. :o)
