i think of it like this. there is religions and there are wars...i think that jesus was trying to save everyone but it backfired and now there is a lot of war...blood of our children all around..and we fight war over religion

Hmm. Good thought. Maybe that's what Dave is talking about.

...but it backfired? I understand that many Jews during Jesus' day thought the messiah would be a military-type of king, which he obviously didn't intend to be (since he didn't lead one of the anti-Roman revolts of that time). So I guess I don't think the "saving" Jesus had in mind would have required a military victory, but was a product of those who saw the Jesus movement as a convenient political tool.

I believe (since he claims to be agnostic) He was talking about King Herod, upon hearing of Jesus' pending birth ordered all the baby boys in Jerusalem to be killed to prevent Herod form losing his throne.

In the song eh hee he says "praise God who have many names, the devil have many more, with the love that my mother gave me im gonna drop the devil to the floor" its just my opinion he never really states that he believes in either God or the devil so i take it hes agnostic..
