This will be my 2nd week owning the 2011 Fusion SEL I4 with around 525 miles driven so far. My second Ford by the way. I also own 2007 Ford Edge AWD SEL Plus and loving it.
Back to the Fusion, so far I can't wait to drive the car when I'm at work and will plan a long drive this Chrismas break. Love the Sync system especially with the three years free subscription for new Ford owner.
This is an absolutely wonderful car, and deserves every bit of critical acclaim it has been receiving. To any remaining Ford skeptics, please don't believe me blindly: I challenge every last one of you to drive a new Fusion and judge it honestly & critically as possible. I guarantee you'll change your past-prejudiced view of Ford.
Cool, success number two at building a high efficiency car that actually LOOKS really good, #1 being Altima hybrid. It's still a big ass car tho, if they had a Focus hybrid, I'd be all over that....
i've seen cell phones with better gui than that! what kind of man raises a flower in their dash?? really?? Japan already did that long ago with their Tamagotchi but who wants a Tamagotchi on their car's display really???
You dork. The last thing a hybrid needs is a 3ghz CPU and a top notch video card just for smoother moving displays on the dashboard. This car is awesome. I sense penis envy.
The Ford POS Hybrid has better MPG because its only a SULEV vehicle while the Camry is a AT-PZEV which means it still meets SULEV standard and goes beyond by having ZERO emissions from its fuel system. If Ford had to meet this standards it would be a different story for them. The Camry has more room inside more power more features and weights less and less expensive and more quality than than Ford can even dream about having. People need to start doing research instead of believing their ads.
Picking up my 2010 Fusion SEL tomorrow. I researched, test drove, and negotiated on, a lot of cars. The new fusion was the one that sold me on the car and the price. Just a great all around car. Ford is the only American car company that has it's act together. I see them catching up with the Japanese companies within the next 2-5 years.
Got the 4 banger FWD. 12 speaker sony system, sirius radio, sunroof, 18" al wheels, and spoiler. The inline 4 puts out decent power. Gets onto the hwy no prob. Def doesn't scream as much as the old fusion 4s.
Endreveren, that's B.S. The engineers, designers, marketers, etc. of the Fusion are all AMERICANS even if the car is assembled in Mexico. It has a very high domestic content, as well. And the only reason they assemble it in Mexico is because they can avoid Latin American tariffs that way. Meanwhile, we don't have any tariffs with Mexico thanks to that crappy raw deal known as NAFTA. Blame Washington for bad trade policy, but the Fusion is still American and the Carmy Jap.
Firstly, Ford is PUBLIC, not American. Secondly, Americans come in many races, many creeds, it is not a homogeneous group. Thirdly, anyone can be American simply by being born in the US, it's in the US Constitution, so there is nothing special about being American.
The Fusion sold itself to you?? How so? Can a car price itself? I didnt know it has a brain? Why do you say Ford is the only American Car Company that has its act together? Are they really behind Japanese automobile companies?
This is an awesome car. Lumadar, I don't know if you were paying attention, but the cloth seats are "eco-friendly" which is the whole point of having this car. It'd be nice if they start doing hybrids for fleet sales, selling hybrids for government vehicles and hopefully they'll have viable hybrid police cars. This idea of mine would save the taxpayers over the long haul. I'm a conservative who thinks hybrids for government use is a good idea.
I took a test drive in it a few weeks ago and wasn't impressed much by the interior. The seats were very comfy though and the V6 I looked at had plenty of power.
its really nice. i got the 4 cylinder. its an SEL so its fully loaded. the only thing it doesnt have is navigation. its a really cool car tho. its high quality also. no cheap plastic parts.
the only way id get one of these if i got it in black. theyre just too girly for me

did you get a 4 or 6 cylinder SEL and FWD or AWD? any options added?
the sport model is pretty cool, a lot of standard features for the money plus standard AWD, something you don't see on a Camry or Accord

I agree with you, I think that Ford has a Future unlike the others. I really hope they bring the Focus RS over.

@BlueOvalBoy85 Like it or not, the Fusion has 50% domestic content and the Camry 80%.

the interior is the same on the regular ones. Like I said I drove the V6
viktord1 2 years ago
Wow that's a cool display on the dash. It still looks like the interior lacks a bit of quality though.
viktord1 2 years ago
That was a cloth interior... the leather has nice stitching and high quality leather. Nothing "lacking" about it.
