I was on my way back from an event and it we had to pass threw big stone on the way back but on the way there we heard over the radio what happened and we was only 5 mins away when it happened.I only live about 10 mins from big stone
Greetings from Jax Fla. My Great Uncle Bobby lives here, on the side of a hill. Thankfully his home was spared when the tornado struck. He and my Aunt Trina lost their home a long time ago to a fire but rebuilt. Can't wait to visit him this year. Big Stone Gap is a wonderful, beautiful place.
Thanks for the vid, brings back many memories, I live in Florida now and miss BSG sometimes. It will always be "home" to me - too many drugs and no employment forced us out.
a very great video ,,, i live in big stone gap back in 1960 to 1975when my dad died in jan of 1975.. this was just something to see. i live in texas from 1985 to 2000. then moved to ok were i now live i was just told about this today.. by one of my sisters who still live there in pennington gap .. ireally dont what to say i was shock.. but thank you so much for sharing this video,,,...
This is just heart breaking:( My family lives there now and i have spent all my life there! Im now in Jacksonville Nc but lord my heart is with you all! God spared you all! and you should thank him for that! Hang in there BSG!
Everyone's prayers are much appreciated by everyone in Big Stone Gap. In desperate times of need, it is great to know how quick other towns respond to assist us. The night the storm happened, there were firefighters and policemen from as far away as St. Paul helping. God says to respect your neighbor, and I now not only respect our neighboring communities but also honor them for their assistance.
