I don't see why lots of people disliked this season. This season was perhaps the most important, yet integral. Some scenes from the 12 episodes of season 2 parallels to the 1972 movie "The French Connection."
The Sobotka's were brilliant in this series, I found myself growing really fond of them toward the end. Perhaps the way it all ends is why it is so underrated, the hollow feeling the finale left me with is what made series 2 stand out. We can't always expect to see all the right men locked up and redemption for those who get sucked in. That's life. And that's why The Wire is so fantastic.
@jairus10003 I've only seen seasons 1 and 2 so I don't know how the others will make me feel, but yes. The ending to season 2 made me want to take a cold shower and cry myself to sleep.

the version fits the season so perfectly. Its more laid back, mellow, almost mischievous and sneaky. And that's how the criminal activity on the docks was. Sneaky, under the radar. Whereas the street level activity was loud, violent, and right out in the open.
@Drummafolife yeah people hated this season, i guess yeah frank sobotka was kinda annoying, but i liked the whole russian guys doin this shit. reminds me of gta 4. i liked the slow place and i liked how u didnt knwo whwat was goin on in the first ep. like how it all built up. i liked it.

Ahhh....I miss this show! Why couldn't they have given us loyal fans 2 more seasons? I mean, the Sopranos got like, what 7 seasons? And The Wire beats The Sopranos any day.
this is really a good song that represented season 2..its dark, its slow and the voice just gives you the fucking chills.. season 2 introduced the greeks..those are the fucking darkest characters in the entire show imo!!!

If I had heard this Original version first, I might've liked it more, but I got so used to the other version from Season 1 that I was pissed when I saw that they changed it for Season 2. I associated the other version with The Wire, so anything different just wasn't as good in my mind. This original version grew on me after a while, though.

I love blues and the beat and I know this is the original but it's not particularly memorable or well done.
