I was just wondering what you might think of Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel, its 100%, no color added, but it has a few preservatives in it. Just wondering if anyone has heard of it and what their experience has been
@azianluvbug000 I tried that aloe gel and it ended up wreaking havoc on my face. I have extremely sensitive skin though. I'd recommend trying it on just a small area like a bit on your chin to see if it will irritate your skin.

I am curious as to whether the preservative found in it alters the effectiveness at all. I personally love it but wonder if there is a better alternative aside from raw Aloe Vera leaf.
@azianluvbug000 The preservatives may alter it a bit but it wouldn't be anything significant. You can continue using it if it's not negatively affecting your skin but you can never beat using real aloe vera for the best results.

Is aloe vera gel better for active pimples than tea-tree oil? I've been using tea-tree oil, but I'll switch to aloe vera gel if you think it would help more. I can only get 99.9% gel, as I live in Britain and don't have access to actual leaves.

Also, having an aloe vera plant around is good if you know someone who is prone to burns. I keep one in the kitchen so that if/when I burn myself I can just snap off a small piece and rub it on the afflicted area (small burns only, anything where the skin is bubbling, see a DR!). Aloe vera is also soothing for mild sunburn.

Is it okay to mix lemon juice and aloe vera together? I was thinking this is okay since lemon juice is highly acidic, aloe vera would reduce the acidity. I'm hoping the chemicals that are in these two ingredients aren't going to clash together to create something strange. @_@ What would you say about this?
@keitsumi U know i am not quite sure. Acid tends to change things quite a bit..so I wouldn't try it out..i woudl do a lemon mask to exfoliate and then do an aloe mask ^_^ it makes more sense that way.

Aloe vera is amazing, I've been using aloe vera based products for years for my face and skin from Forever Living Products, they are really really amazing :)

My mom recommend aloe vera. When I had acne she bought 100% pure aloe vera juice and made me drink it. that stuff is NASTY but i think it helped. we also have an aloe vera plant in my house, it's EXTREMELY easy to care for. and whenever i have a break out I just cut a piece and apply. the plant heals and grows back with a few weeks. it is my go to herb for my skin
btw:my broinlaw uses the slice of aloe (like you did with the cut piece rubbed on your face?)as a bandage also.he had a cut that he just kind of taped the slice on his finger. it was sterile, and kept the aloe on the wound. he says when he took it off the cut was healing already, and it felt just fine.
LOVE aloe vera!however, that stuff made by banana boat for after burns has other stuff in it that stings. i buy the brand that is JUST aloe!burns are very easily taken care of by this..glad to know about scars also, sweetie!you are so helpful!

I just have a question about making my own facial mask with compressed mask.
Is it okay to mix lemon juice and aloe vera together? I was thinking this is okay since lemon juice is highly acidic, aloe vera would reduce the acidity. I'm hoping the chemicals that are in these two ingredients aren't going to clash together to create something strange. @_@ What would you say about this?

@keitsumi U know i am not quite sure. Acid tends to change things quite a bit..so I wouldn't try it out..i woudl do a lemon mask to exfoliate and then do an aloe mask ^_^ it makes more sense that way.

Also you do want to make sure you wash the aloe well. That "slimy" stuff act as a really bad laxative. In commercially processed aloe juices and gels that substance is taken out. :)

My mom recommend aloe vera. When I had acne she bought 100% pure aloe vera juice and made me drink it. that stuff is NASTY but i think it helped. we also have an aloe vera plant in my house, it's EXTREMELY easy to care for. and whenever i have a break out I just cut a piece and apply. the plant heals and grows back with a few weeks. it is my go to herb for my skin

btw:my broinlaw uses the slice of aloe (like you did with the cut piece rubbed on your face?)as a bandage also.he had a cut that he just kind of taped the slice on his finger. it was sterile, and kept the aloe on the wound. he says when he took it off the cut was healing already, and it felt just fine.

LOVE aloe vera!however, that stuff made by banana boat for after burns has other stuff in it that stings. i buy the brand that is JUST aloe!burns are very easily taken care of by this..glad to know about scars also, sweetie!you are so helpful!
