  • I was watching an Alter Bridge video and the lead singer Myles Kennedy said to check this guy out and I am glad I did.

  • One of the greats of our time. Or anytime, really. Thanks to the internet, now we can all know his beautiful music......bittersweet. to just be hearing these songs now and a tragedy to think of all the people who never knew his music when he was alive.....

  • That which cannot be reproduced. To compare Whitley with Hendrix does neither justice IMO. Different styles, albeit similar influences. Love both for who they were and what they created.

  • I hear so much affinities between him and his daughter, in the way they form their words and change their voices during a sentence, listen to it!

    (excuse my english)

  • @kareljuwet He has a daughter that sings???

  • @revdannyboy

    Trixie Whitley

She sings in the band Black Dub, they're really good! (Daniel Lanois, Trixie Whitley, Brian Blade and Daryl Johnson)

  • @pierotrail

I always equate Chris Whitley as the love child of Jimi Hendrix and Chet Baker.

  • @pierotrail i have always thought he sounded like hendrix...

  • Thanks, just stopped by to top up my soul.

Fantastic lyrics, and Chris' voice was perfect for the blues.

  • Ive just known about him for about 2 years now and he is on top of my list of composers... Some of his lyrics evolve in meaning through the power and subtle changes in tone each time I hear it...very deep. U will be forever missed !
