  • poor MT she had a bad cough.

  • The point that the country became richer applies only to the select middle-class people, once again the rich get rich and the poor get poorer!!!

  • Hooray for Lady T!!!

  • I will always remember her as the PM who's policies drove once affordable house prices through the roof and out of reach of first time buyers whilst destroying social rented housing at the same time. Thanks to her so many of a whole younger generation will be locked into 'bedsit' land for their entire lives, Unable to buy and with no chance of affordable rent they have no option other than to struggle paying sky high rents to greedy private landlords looking for a maximum profit. Some legacy

  • @TheRacketBoss Why were those houses once affordable? Clearly they must have been subsidized by the government using other peoples' money.

  • @zdrux How did the 'others' get the money, clearly many others bought their products and or services with their own money. Ir's about balance.

  • Delighted this shows her last speech as PM. She was an amazingly atrocious leader and profoundly ignorant of economics. Her legacy is evident in the streets of London tonight.

  • @jtkay1952 what a load of rubbish. not only because what you've said is completely false anyway, but because you can't blame a 20+ year old government on today's problems. You have your beloved Labour to blame for that I'm afraid.

  • @94asm *all* governments are responsible for today's problems. History is a chain of linked events.

  • @jtkay1952 Are you seriously implicating the SUCCESSFUL monetarist policies of her government, that saw the debt of the nation decreased, economic activity increased in the riots witnessed in London streets?

  • draco do you ever shuttup or are you going to hog all the comments here? yeah obama is a shit president we don't need to read a fucking book here.

  • Think of our Prime Ministers of the 50 years...

She's the only one with balls, and she is a woman.

The rest are a pretty weak lot.

  • When I saw the guy in the wig at the beginning, I thou this video was a parody from Mr. Bean or something. God, England is a joke! Granted, I wish we had more Thatchers in our world today... other than that, good luck!

  • Are there recordings of Mrs. Thatcher’s speaches at the House of Commons in the post Nov. 1990 era.? Did she made any spaches at all in the remaining 2 years as MP?

  • @tbdkuphk i dont think she made any speeches in the commons from the back benches after she was deposed. there are some speeches from the lords when she joined but iv not got them.... yet

  • *speech

  • This was a great speech

  • @WiseMonkey888 Arguments, lol.

  • She not fucking dead yet!!!

  • @brenchlylad2 You are 20 years old, you have read labour propoganda, and think you know what you are talking about. If you lived through the 70's and 80's as i did, you would be able to form a view from experience, rather than lies.

British industry was destroyed by the Unions going on strike all the time. Ford, British Leyland and British Steel, the Shipbuilding industry, along with the miners and their 47 percent pay claim.

  • @brenchlylad2 With respect, you are 20 years old, and have therefore not lived through the epic fail that was the Labour of the 70's. Thatcher left the country in a much better state than she found it in 1979. Thats the most you can ask of a PM.

Labour always leave it in a worse state, they suck money out of the private sector, spend it on an unproductive public sector, and leave the country broke and in debt.

What you have written about an old lady who served this country well, shame on u

  • @PteropusDasymallus It is amazing how younger people always think they know everything. They think they are 10 ft tall and bullet proof. I was once one of those as well. As i have gone through life.Learned the lessons of history. I have become even wiser. Still a long way to go. My question to all of those young people out there.Really, how often do you go to people younger than you for advice? Say you are a teen. You play baseball. You want tips on how to hit a baseball. Do you go to a 6 yr old?

  • @PteropusDasymallus Well it is true that some older people, could be a baseball coach or a parent or an older sibling or brother. They could very well teach you wrong. However, on average. One goes to someone who has what? Experience. Typically, those with the experience are your elders. They need to be listened to and respected. Imagine being a native people. You are the young 20 or yr old. Do you go to the younger ones regarding how to fish, grow crops, etc. No!

  • @PteropusDasymallus They went to their elders. The ones with the experience. When I was young and stupid (thought I knew everything, remember I had a blast of freedom, being on my own). Well, I wish I would have listened to those people who had more experience. Unfortunately, I listened to those my age and slightly younger. What a life lesson this was. I remember a recent discussion I had with my 18 yr old son. I urged him to come to me for advice on anything. There is no charge.

  • @PteropusDasymallus I had to stress that I would not purposely direct him in the wrong direction. I only had in mind what is in his best interest.Their maybe a situation that I may have no experience on. Then I would seek advice who did have experience. I remember speaking to a stranger for an hour. He had explained to me what happened to the black community on average. He stated that when they started to go left. The younger generations were out for themselves at some one else's expense.

  • @PteropusDasymallus They didn't want to carry on the torch of the elders. When these elders start moving on. Things will only get worse. Well this is not true for the entire community. It has become a serious problem. I add to this. It is happening on average with more regularity across the board. Whether being the white or blacks.

  • @brenchlylad2 you knew her well, you use to visit every friday afternoon for tea.

poor thing, what you need is some time off for depression. no worries, some benefit check will come in your mail...

OR MAYBE NOT ANYMORE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

  • Hate her if you want but we could do with her at the moment

  • this is called dignity,something socialists will NEVER understand.....how to bow out,stickin up fer yer principles...luv u maggie,miss u...xxxxxx

  • as impressive and true her arguments and her debating are.. the deed is done, the EU turned into a hybrid of what she feared and wanted. thats the biggest threat for europe today: its neither flesh nor fowl. the national parliaments rage about rights taken away from them and turn around to hand it over to the EU parliament. the real power lies with the european council=heads of governments. it is sickening. at home they denounce the EU, but when they meet they make deals that make them look good

  • God Bless Margaret Thatcher

  • abrelosojo....I'll think you'll find its the debts of a curupt capitolist system instagated by right wing greedy bankers and hedge fund city wide boys.

  • @TheKiddaLar Its governments that corrupt the capitalist system and subvert it.

In a capitalist system the banks would have been allowed to fail.

    Governments bailed them out.

Consider Greece, the EU and the IMF is forcing measures on Greece not to help the people, but to stop bankers taking the hit for their own foolishness. In a capitalist system, the initial loans would never have been made. They were because the lenders knew the EU would never let a member state (ie. the EU) 'fail'

  • Britian made a mistake by nmot reelecting Thatcher on the first ballot in a majority. I'm not british but american but I understand she faught against socialism and against losing national soviegnty a political union with no interest in making Britian or america any better off.

  • Love Her - Bring Her Back - FREEDOM! :)

  • Europe need a strong and independent GB.

  • *speech

  • History will prove or has already proven that Mrs Thatcher did the right thing. Right does not mean popularity amongst people, Britain in the 70's desperately needed a leader like her. My country Japan grew out of terrible poverty in the 50's and climbed up to be the 2nd largest economy in the world and prospered since, but has lost dignity , sense of sovereignty, and pride as the most successful democracy and capitalism amongst the coloured countries. Mrs Thatcher, please come to Japan!

  • Why does it seem the Tories keep having to clean up Labours mess? It was the same back then; and it is the same now.

Labour was lending £1 for every four they spent, the aim of today's government is to reduce spending by 25%, you cannot get much clearer than that.

Labour keep shouting abuse at the coalition government for their decisions. If they take so much offence to these cuts; perhaps they shouldn't have spent all the money and created a £914 billion debt?

  • maggie thatcher and the tories are nothing more than snobby elitests who had a talent for spinning the truth. Her policies did nothing but deepen the pockets of the wealthiest and supress the poorest. she was hated then, is hated now, and shall be hated forever more. I wish the IRA had got her when they tried

  • Where are the Thatcher and Reagan of this generation? We needs statesmen like them now more than ever.

  • You spell speech like this. Not like this: speach!

  • she was a fucking mad old bat. a danger to society

  • This lady was an absolute legend and did a lot for us in the South. We'll never see her like again.

  • she fucked scotland in the ass in the 80s, now the tories have one seat out of the whole of scotland

  • And in only 13 years.....

  • absoloute vermin

  • Its strange considering many of Blairs policies were thatcherite policies!

  • with disastrous effects on future employment prospects and the state of the areas.

  • Socialism killed our industries by strangling them to death with trade union militantism. And then they pretended they were still alive by throwing vast amounts of taxpayers money at them.

All Thatcher did was stop throwing the money. The industries were already dead. They were zombie industries. She let them go.

In Lancashire our cotton mills shut in the 1960s and 1970s when socialism killed them. Everyone moved on. But in the North-East the zombie industries were kept going....

  • @thebigJM92 - We here in America are not far behind you sir.

    Hearts of Oak!

  • Or the 3 million Brits who were unemployed?

POWER TO THE PEOPLE SHE SAYS!

What a fucking leech. She hated the Irish, she hated the Scottish, she hated the Scouse. If you weren't from Southern England you were a lesser breed in her eyes.

  • Grantham must have moved South in the last century then!

  • Aw fuck off wae that tosche. Maggie hated Scotland and it's a fucking fact. So fuck every last one of you who say's otherwise.

Thatcherism still lives? You better believe it does.

As you can see, we're still America's bitch who goes into ILLEGAL wars. Well done Maggie.

"Power to the people" she say's. Lol! Does she realize how much she's just contradicted herself? What happened to all the British industries that once belonged to the people, took and sold to the highest bidder?

  • 'What happened to all the British industries that once belonged to the people'

Since when have state-owned industries ever 'belonged to the people'? State-owned: it's in the name.

  • @gregorioallegri

Well with Caesar Obama in the White house, we too now have state owned companies, one of them still being that of General Motors, and a few banks to list.

So I guess no one learns there lesson from Socialism.

  • have a party if u must.... thatcherism is still alive and well and u live under it.... so party on....

  • The little people of Britain have never been able to accommodate in their brains the extent of which politics has helped them and their families over so many years. Their little brains cannot understand the financial deficit that we are in and their little brains have no idea what we are to do about it, - not a single clue, not a single brain wave. That is why the sensible people of Britain vote Thatcher, vote Tory, because they are a party which has the brains for change. It's hard but true.

  • THESCOTTISHROCKET

    > We're havin' a party when Thatcher dies!

1 Starting now, will you hold your breath until that day?

2 How many decades have you been waiting?

3 Even Thatcher dying will not resurrect Labour as it was under Kinnock, Smith, Foot, et al.

  • "UNPARRALELED presperity to Citizens", OH YEAH! if you lived South of Milton Keynes and dealt in houses-credit-estate agents you did very well, North of Birmingham it often just meant you got a Redundancy notice Repo notice and a dole card as they moved all the money Soutwards, shame the IRA never got the lot of them in Brighton!.

  • is it just me or dose she seem a little grumpy? i wonder why!!! she should have been dancing in the streets like her own party were, happy in the knowledge that she had left a great country hollow!!!

  • Palin is the USA's Thatcher

  • @dubasher Here, Here!!!

  • no disrespect to Thatcher...she is brilliant, Palin probably not so much, but they both have balls and mass appeal

  • @dubasher "balls and mass appeal" So had Hitler.

  • @lewars1912 Not so. Hitler only had one.

  • @dubasher no disrespect to palin, but likening her to Thatcher is like comparing dog crap with Diamons

  • @JanissarialGuard agreed. I was shock when dubasher compared the intelligent Thatcher to the bimbotic palin.

  • @KiraKirin It is extremely reassuring that there are still any logical people in this world

  • @JanissarialGuard apparently dubasher have already insulted all women in the world by comparing Thatcher to Palin.

  • Margaret Thatcher was a powerful woman who stood up to the men in her cabinet including her own husband Denis Thatcher. It is a pity we can't get her back into number 10.

  • best pm britian will ever see , long live the iron lady

  • no way, the best is yet to come..

    make way for cen clarke...

  • Cen Clarke, who's she?

  • Fantastic Prime minister and UK was not broken under Thatcher, Her way was undoubtly the best way and maybe the only way Democracy can prosper

  • I agre- the only positives we have today are because the Thatcher Conservative government laid down the foundations for it. Every NEGATIVE aspect we have today - layabouts, scum, layabouts and spongers are entirely to blame on the labour government of the last 18 years. The labour government have, without fail, destroyed every positive thing we have gained in those glorious years of Margaret Thatcher. At least she had a set of balls and stood up to the yanks...deny this if you dare?

  • now, now wildizer..

with a great man cleaning up after 18 years of tory cuts, privatisation, and massive unemployment the great mr brown is doing the best he can!!!

  • Ooooh Tory cuts!

    Scary!

    1921-4 UK spending minus 5.6%

    1931-4 UK spending minus 3.7%

    1982-8 UK spending minus 9.2%

    1993-2000 UK spending minus 6.3%

Notice how those public spending cuts always preceded a boom in economic growth.

The fact that 'Labour spending' has given us a £178billion per annum budget deficit doesn't bother you either, I take it?

Let's not let facts get in the way of socialist dogma.

  • Are you for real maggiesucks1... Brown was in charge for over 10 years..the mess we are in is due to the Blair Brown mismanagement..they have between them stripped us of everything we have.and are taking us back in time were the rich will be the only ones who can drive their cars or heat their homes!!! And I was a life long labour voter.but after the first year under those two twats i stopped !!!

  • i in love with this woman.

  • im not sure even thatcher could sort out the debts of socilism this time around.

  • @abrelosojo i think she would do a better job than brown any day! im sure she could fix the mess we r now in

  • What would she have done with the banks? Would she have let them collapse or would she have plunged the country into debt to prop them up? Both options would plunge the country into debt.

After all the roots of this crisis lie in the financial environment of the late 80s and 90s.

  • @globaltraveller, so the banks hitting trouble in 2008/9 stems back to pre 1997.

what a ridiculous statement, the country Brown entered No 11 with a £1.8 billion surplus in 1997.

He then removed powers of regulation from the BoE & setup the FSA.

Nothing to do with the 80's, the blame lies squarely with one Gordon Brown.

Had Thatched been in charge, she'd have left regulation to the experts at the BoE, you know, the ones sorting out Browns mess now.

  • Deregulation of the sector occurred with the Financial Services Act 1986 which led to the "Big Bang" in the city. It was precisely that deregulation of the sector that set banks free to do...just about anything they wanted to.

Many of the mortgage backed securities which went sour had their roots in the unsustainable housing boom of the 1980s in the US and the UK.

And the BoE is only making the current situation worse, by printing money. Something Thatcher would have balked at.

  • @globaltraveller Nothing to do with securities from the 80's.

This was created in the UK by Brown actions with the BoE & setting up the FSA.

This allowed banks to create massive amounts of cheap credit allowing people to borrow 5 times salary mortgages etc at 125% levels, ridiculous. (pre 97 you could not borrow that much)

It was creating a glut of revenue for Brown so he sat back.

I agree the BoE should not be printing money the banks should also have gone under and not been bailed out.

  • I suppose the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 was of Thatcher's doing as well, was it?

  • @thatcheritescot Most certainly she could. Just as another Reagan would fix the USA. Where are they when you need them. This goes out to the Socialists on youtube. “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” - Sir Winston Churchill

The USA has taken a leap deeper into Socialism. Shortly, the misery will be shared by all. Then again that is the goal of it.

  • @abrelosojo You most likely mean "socialism".

  • @xrawalmondbutterx its like having your written work corrected at primary school, love it!

  • @lewars1912 we also did not have neculer wepons during that time!

  • @lewars1912 SHUT UP.

  • @CaledoniaProductions Shut up for what? What are you on about?

  • The word "Great" remains in the name of this country thanks to Conservative Governments !

  • @VeZamaniGeldi I am from the USA. I couldn't say it any better. Short and sweet! I am finally seeing a resurgence of Conservatism here. It has to grow and be maintained. The conservative people of the US and Great Britain must ramain vigilant! Otherwise, the WEST will fall. Islam will reign. God help us all, especially the women. The libs here are siding with Islam. The old , "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Then the libs will be attacked. With no allies to help them!

  • @draco4506 Yes, finally, after eight long years of Bush's socialistic reign, we have a good conservative in office.

  • @xrawalmondbutterx Bush was truly a fiscal socialist. Worse than Clinton. Now we have the Bamster. Wanting to spend us into oblivion. This is the plan of plan of the Demicans and the Republicrats. The new world orders is alive and kicking and has been here for quite a while.

  • @draco4506 Yes, and the Jewish molepeople at the center of the Earth are pulling more levers and turning more knobs than ever before so that the ZOG can push us toward one world government faster every day.

  • @draco4506 if you think Clinton, Bush or Obama is a socialist you clearly have little understanding of the word

  • @louisdm123 I know what the definition is. Sorry I don't have the space to copy it down. Obv, the problem is. The powers that be have completely disorientated everyone from its true meaning. In a perfect world it would be perfect. As everything else would be perfect too.Problems is the human aspect. remember hearing a young Socialist explain that he didn't like working for a specific company. his grief was he had to show up when they wanted him to show up.He had to do what they wanted him to do.

  • @louisdm123 This kid actually thought he should have equal say in business decisions. How to allocate resources. Now he was trying to to tell the owner who started business in his parents basement. Maxed 7 credit cards. Worked 80 or 90 hours a week to build it from nothing. Now this little dweeb felt he should have equal say. He said either you work for someone else or for yourself. I say if you don't like it. Learn. Start your own business and compete. Remember in theory Socialism should work.

  • @draco4506 You're completely ignorant. The political world of America is way out on the far right. America has never had, and never will have (at least in the forseeable future) any socialist presidents or politicians. If you think Obama is a socialist (no doubt because of his incredibly mild health reforms), you are phenomonally ignorant and unknowing. Both of your main political parties encourage religion and support a small state economy, therefore they are both conservative parties.

  • @ToaJoe Apparently, wherever you are from. Your people have gone far far far far left that it looks like both parties here look on the right. Obviously, our 2 countries have there own political boundaries. Your country is lost. Here is my point. I do not want to see the USA go any further left. Give an inch to the lefties here. They want a foot. This will continue until we have gone so far far far far left (as you have). All will be lost. Who be left to bail us out? Greece?

  • @ToaJoe LOFL. The USA being on the far right. OMFG. Next you will be calling us Nazis. They were pretty far right. While u are at it. Just call us Muslim. They are are far far far right. You remind me of Colin Powell he said he supported Obama, because the Republican party had gone to far right. No Mr. Powell. You have gone too too too far left that it looks like they went right. In other words Toa. Powell went left faster than the Republicans did.

  • @ToaJoe If the left doesn't understand where they sit. THis gives the illusion the Republicans have gone further right. Example. Both cars are heading north. A is going 10 times faster than B. If A doesn't know this difference in speed. When asked. A would say that left is going south. Apparently your country is moving at a faster speed than the USA. I believe I have explained myself clearly. No need to respond. I do not believe I can give any example that could be clear to you.

  • @ToaJoe Finally, why does it always come to religion with some people. LOFL again. The Dems supporting religion. Are you friggin kidding me. Many Dems and the left here despise the Christians. Again, apparently you have no idea what is going on here. As I have no idea as too what is going on in whatever country you live in. Now...Obama care. Jammed up the Americans butts. Hmmm...does nothing to go after what has pushed up healthcare costs. Too much to type in such a little space.

  • @ToaJoe I quote Nancy Pelosi regarding the healthcare bill. "We have to pass the bill, so you can find out what is in it". This is how many bills here get passed. I quote a staffer from my former Senator Arlen Specter. I asked how his constituents have responded. She said, "most are against it". Then I asked, "how is he voting?" She responded, "he is voting for it." Then we just looked at each other. We both sighed. Then he was voted of office.

  • @ToaJoe This was rampant with our so called representatives. Many were going to vote no to it. But of course the political arm bending occurred. They changed their vote to yes without going back to their constituents to bend their arms. They were afraid of this. Deeply afraid of it. However, I do give Specter credit for being one of the few who actually held town hall meetings. With this said.

  • @ToaJoe With this said. The bill as it is if the 27 or so States don't win their lawsuit against the Fed Gov. We will have moved much further left. In my opinion as a amateur Constitutional Scholar. The bill should be found Unconstitutional. As many bills in the past are. I will finish in saying. You are the one who is IGNORANT and UNKNOWING. I do not want to see the USA end up like your country. If this happens. The USA will not be around to continue to police the World.

  • @ToaJoe Especially with the likes China and the Middle East. China has her eyes on Japan (revenge for WWII). She also has her eyes on New Zealand and Austraila. Of course the Middle East has been at war (vice versa too) with the West. This has been going on for century after century. In my opinion, they are winning through the spread of their culture. This of which is their master plan. Once the USA is no longer the balance of power on this blue marble. Good luck!

  • @ToaJoe Good luck to those who are deep in debt and depend on others for most if not all of their energy and other resources. You will fade into the obscurity of History. I just don't want to see this happen to the USA or your country. History is full of this! And you call me ignorant. Oh, did I mention that I am an amateur historian as is my brother.

  • @draco4506 If you knew about american political history, you'd know that the USA has never had a left of centre president. If you dispute that, you're simply an idiot. Left of center means nationalization of industry.

  • @ToaJoe Obviously, I must be an idiot if you say so. It is rather obvious that we have a left , a right, and a center. I would have to say there is a consensus in this country that it exist here. Liberals on the left. Conservatives on right. A broad mix in the middle. It is discussed here everyday by every form of media. Again, I will stress that the political spectrum here is different than where you are from. I never brought up about Nationalization of Industry.

  • @ToaJoe Hmmm....well....I would say the bailout (takeover) of GM and Chrysler by the Federal Gov't is a good start. Hmmmm....how about the massive bailout that the people were against. I remember what SenatorsDianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said regarding this one. She had received approx 91,000 responses. 86,000 against it. 5,000 for it. She voted for it. She claimed the 86,000 didn't undeerstand the situation, etc. Hmmm.... the Federal Gov't is in control of approx. 33% of the land here.

  • @ToaJoe And this is growing daily! As I had said sometime back. The USA is a mixture of many different political terms. Again, I will stress that we have moved into more of socialism. Obviously no where near your understanding of the term. I will stress this as well. Baby steps, baby steps, baby steps, baby steps....many more baby steps. Now you have traveled pretty far into socialism. Hmmmm, what about the bailout of the Financial industry. I say let them all fail!

  • @ToaJoe If I am an idiot. Then there are many many idiots here. These many other idiots live and breathe American Politics. They make a living at it. I have also spoken to many people who have immigrated here legally and illegally. They have all said the same thing. This is in part how I have come to my conclusions. You know what. Your an idiot for not giving me the country you are from. This may help for me to understand your starting point regarding this discussion. Apparently you are far far left!

  • @ToaJoe Just to check. I reviewed over a dozen different political spectrums. They all confirm what I have said. Maybe we only use these here. I guess you use the simple one that has Nationalized Industry on left. Liberals, progressives and conservatives and others on the right. You prob don't have anybody in the middle either. Well....I guess I will have to admit that I am the idiot for using some more complexed models that apparently your country is too poor to allow you to access.

  • @draco4506 Bullshit, Liberals have economic centrality, they are not right leaning. Liberals are left leaning on their social policies.

You are a joke, sir. You think my country is poor, yet London is a larger financial capital than New York, our currency is double the value of the dollar, and bear in mind just 100 years ago we owned 1/3 of the planets trade. Why on earth would I not be allowed to use complex political theories?

  • @ToaJoe So you finally admit that there is a LEFT in the USA. About frackin time. I agree the Liberals are left leaning too. How does one fund these left leaning utopian social policies. One certainly cannot do it from a conservative financial position. Nor can it be done with a centrality position. You have to go left with it. Hence, one of many reasons why the USA is 14 with 12 zeros after it in debt ad still growing. Ha ha ha....me a joke. Sorry sir or ma'am....YOU ARE!

  • @ToaJoe One of the main reasons the USA is so far in debt is the Liberal mindset on handling financial affairs. Every conservative i know are doing well through the financial turbulence that has occurred (due to the liberal mindset that has spread like cancer in here). None of them are in any financial straights. They knew how to sustain themselves by preparing for a rainy day. On the other hand. Many of my Liberal friends are in complete financial disaster. They leveraged themselves too far.

  • @ToaJoe They are now paying the price for being short sighted. Sure some are doing well. On average though. They are a mess. They are looking for someone to bail them out. This cancer has spread throughout the States here and to the Federal Gov't. Hence why we are 14+ trillion in debt. And no end to it. As a whole. The USA has moved left. It is costing us dearly!

  • @ToaJoe UK public sector debt was 910.1 billion pounds or 60.1% of GDP (excludes financial sector intervention). Source: official national statistics May 24 2011. I agree that London is a larger financial center than NY. I would hope so. You have been around a lot longer. Yup..again a sever turn to the left here has destroyed the $ (obv. done by design). I agree "just 100 years ago" GB owned 1/3 of the planets trade. Even more before that. LOFL..THAT WAS 100 frackin years ago!!!!

  • @ToaJoe Just face it...get out of denial. GB is no longer what she once was. Same as Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy.....and even France. You have all seen your day in the sun. The party is over. And yes...the USA is done too! Somehow I believe you still hold a grudge that GB could not hold onto the 13 Colonies. Boy if she did. Maybe GB would have 1/2 of the world's trade???? Last time I checked...the Muslim culture is slowly taking over GB. The even have a name already picked out for London.

  • @ToaJoe On a side note. I have been watching some WW II documentaries. GB really needs another Winston Churchill to show up. Back to my thoughts. Last time I checked. The US debt to GDP was close to 98% of 2010 GDP. And still growing. I guess the reason for this is Conservatism. NOT! It is the result of the Liberal search for Utopia. "LIBERALISM is a mental disorder" - Michael Savage who by the way was barred from GB for his so called inciting speech. On a list with murderers and the like.

  • @ToaJoe Yet GB allows Muslim who constantly speak out to what they are going to do to GB and the West. WTF is wrong with GB?????? There are parts of GB that different politicians have spoken to large crowds of Muslims. Whereas those same Muslims would yell to the speaker to ask why are they are there. They are not allowed on this land to speak. That this is Muslim land. What the F is wrong with GB? You will fall before the USA. Anyways...finally glad to find out what Country you are from.

  • @ToaJoe Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains."

    - Sir Winston Churchill

Boy how he hit the nail squarely on the head!

  • @draco4506 Actually, Mr. Smartass, Churchill stole that quote from his ideal, Mr. Lloyd George, who was a Liberal.

And for the record, Lloyd George was a better orator and better leader than Churchill (although I am not disrespecting Churchill). Churchill was inspired and taught how to speak by Lloyd George.

  • @ToaJoe Thanks for the Historical correction. Moving forward I will make sure I give Lloyd George credit. Actually I will give David Lloyd George, 1st Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor the credit. Not sure who Lloyd George was. I knew of David Lloyd George. And I am sure he didn't originate this idea that turned into the quote that is known today. This has been understood by many Conservative people throughout history.

  • @ToaJoe I went through this process. I was a young stupid liberal up until my mid 20s. Then I turned Conservative little by little. One thing I never forgot was the compassion (heart) for those TRULY in need!. Please reference and etch it into you head. "TRULY in need". In the USA, the Liberal leadership wants to help those who are not truly in need too . For the vote. Yet another reason why the USA is over 14,000,000,000,000 in debt and still growing.

  • @ToaJoe Most conservatives I know all went through this same process. As I always say, "liberals always say they are open-minded, and that conservatives are not. If Liberals were truly open-minded they would become conservatives and continue to show compassion to those truly in need." Now there are some problems with life long conservatives. They tend to be somewhat more closed minded. Here is something funny. I have a 43 year old brother still living with our 75 year old mom.

  • @ToaJoe He does not work. Our mom is still physically independent. However, she depends on my 77 yr old father who still works full time in a laboring job (divorced).I would say he provides 80% of her financial needs. He is a staunch conservative (very self-sustaining) who once believed in the labor unions. Well that has changed greatly. Both my brother and mother are liberals (actually my brother changed from conservative to liberal...doesn't happen too often). Both of whom are not self-sustaining.

  • @ToaJoe All they do is bitch about is the apartment they live in. While my dad lives in a house he worked hard for. So I posed a question to my mother. I asked her what she thought would happen if he had to provide enough $ for her to live in a comparable house. Obv, he would now have to live in an apartment. She was like a deer in headlights. I has to explain to her....he would no longer continue to work. He would just disappear with his horde of cash never to be seen again.

  • @ToaJoe Then I looked at her and said she would not even have an apartment to live in. She did not know what to say. She was completely blank. I know exactly why when Libs go further left. The conserv go further right. Hence, the pendulum starts to make extreme swings. Never a good idea when talking about civilizations. Many people end up getting physically hurt or killed.

  • @ToaJoe Finally, who was the one who started the name calling. It wasn't me. It was you. See pendulum notes. I could have easily started to call you even more nastier names. In return you would call me even nastier names. If it weren't for the medium we are on. And we were face to face. It would probably end up in a physical altercation. Or maybe it is the fact that I am a very open-minded and compassionate conservative. You really TRULY need help sir or Ma'am.

  • @ToaJoe You seem to be the closed-minded person in this discussion.

  • @draco4506 BTW, you got the quote wrong. Churchill was ranting on socialism, not liberalism.

  • @ToaJoe I am just going by what numerous history books and supposedly historically accurate quote books have said. Since I am a supposed smart ass. I will say the following. I wasn't alive nor attending the event when Churchill apparently said what he said. I think the famous quote regarding Socialism was as follows: "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Again I could be wrong.

  • @draco4506 Churchill never ranted about Liberalism. He didn't leave the Liberals because he supported conservatism, he merely realised that the Liberals were finished and he greatly prefered conservatism over socialism. The quote he made was stolen from Lloyd George, his inspiration.

  • @ToaJoe I never said he ranted. It is amazing how some people automatically call anything that is said (especially if they do not like it) a rant. I know of too many people that do this. They claim to be open-minded. Most of these happen to be Liberals. I was always told by my Lib friends that Libs were the open-minded and the Conservatives not. Honesty, through my life experiences. I believe it is more the other way around.

  • @ToaJoe Anyway you slice it. Whether it be Churchill or David Lloyd George or anybody else that says something similar. They are 150 million % right on target. At least we know one Lib (David Lloyd George) knew the truth when he said what he said.As far as stolen. We all know that many quotes have been stolen. It is throughout history. Many quotes from JFK were said by someone else as well.Call it stolen....borrowed, or properly given credit. It is a mute point to me.What counts is what was said.

  • @draco4506 You were attacking Liberalism, not socialism. I am an anti-socialist Liberal. So I corrected you, that Churchill was not attacking Liberalism, he was attacking socialism, and that he had nicked that quote from Lloyd George. As we know, the old Liberal party was by far the best party to govern this country. Politicans like Gladstone, Asquith & Lloyd George command the respect of the right in a way the Labour party does not.

  • @ToaJoe Well,I am glad to hear that you are against Socialism. That we can agree on. Whether or not Churchill was attacking Socialism or not. Fore sake of further argument. I will take your word that he was attacking Socialism as I was not there to witness his speech. Whether he stole it or bought the rights to say what he said. This is a mute point to me. What is important is the content of what was said. Again bot Winston and David were right on target.

  • @ToaJoe I will make it clear right now.......I am against going too far into Conservatism as well. You end up with Hitler or how some in the Middle East conduct social business. Under the current situation here in the States. Many would consider me to be just right of center. Roll back time to the late 1700s. One would have considered me a Liberal or even perhaps a progressive. With be a progressive. You have to be careful just how far you progress.

  • @ToaJoe A society could progress too far with social policy. This could push her civilization through the latter phases that just about all civs go through. One has to know when to stop and become conservative (no more change or just a little change over a long period of time. I believe here in the States. It is time to stop progressing through the phases so as to not becoming enslaved and starting all over again. My belief a this point. Only Technology should progress and responsibly.

  • @ToaJoe I guess my attack could be viewed as an attack on GB Libs. My intention was to attack the Libs and their leadership here in the States. Libs here are different. As the Liberal movement has changed over time as so has our political structure. Heck, the Dems and Rep (before these labels were applied) were under one party banner know as the Democratic-Republican Party. The Political parties have changed many times over the years. Too long to get into it.

  • @ToaJoe I will only say this. The Dem party at one time was more conservative than the Rep were. Today, some experts even say that the Rep party of today is more like the Dem party under JFK.That in fact the Dems have moved ever further left on most of the political spectrums.Again, Our 2 countries political structures are greatly different. Sure there maybe some similarities. All in all. I truly hope that the USA and GB/UK remain close allies in the fight for freedom with responsibility.

  • @ToaJoe And may we never go to war against one another again! Our alliances will be needed in the near future as the West is still under siege (has been for centuries) by the Middle East. Somehow I never think it will be concluded.

  • @ToaJoe As far as the "old Liberal party". I do not have much knowledge regarding it. I will do some research. For what you say. It sounds like they did a great job. Not sure though. Is this old Liberal party still in existence. Somehow I think it went the way of the 100 year ago trade empire of GB. So, how is the EU working out for GB. I have followed some of it. Seems like many in GB and the other member nations are not too pleased.

  • @ToaJoe It seems as if the EU leadership is under a lust for more power than she was originally given.Similar to what has happened here in the STATES.The Federal gov't has gone waaaaaay beyond the powers granted to her by the States as outlined in the US Constitution. Many power grabs from the States have occurred without the proper Amendment process. Some have even happened in full view through the Amendment process.I have been fighting for years to get the 16th and 17th repealed.

  • @ToaJoe As well as getting the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 revoked. Now this fight has occurred through multiple levels. It is so frustrating to see what the progressive movement has done to the fundamentals of this nation and to her States and more importantly to the Citizens of these States. It is at a level that many of my friends have no idea of how to grasp it. So they, do not get involved as they should. It is very frustrating battle. Many Libs here wipe their butts with the US Constitution.

  • @ToaJoe I know for sure that President Obama does not like the Constitution. He was touted as a Constitutional Scholar. I just laugh when people say this. I always pose the following question whenever I can. Just because he is a scholar, does this mean he believes in the Constitution? The answer is he does not! He is on tape as to have said that the problem with the US Constitution is it limits what the Federal Gov can do for the Citizens. Well dah...that is why it was writtent the way it was.

  • @ToaJoe Most here have no idea that the 13 States (sovereign countries as they were known in the day) gave power to the Federal Gov. It wasn't the other way around. A couple reasons why this was done was for mutual protection, REAL free trade between the States (as to produce a good standard of living-sol), and to trade with those freely who have similar SOL. As well as other less important reasons. Hmmm, sounds very similar to what the EU was originally supposed to be about.

  • @ToaJoe It has taken centuries for the FED gov to get to where she today. in some regards, it seems that the EU leadership has done it in a much shorter time. Then again, I am far from being an expert to what GB and the EU politics is all about. However, I do try to get some understanding of what is going on. I would like to know how to prepare if War breaks out again. Never wrong to be prepared.

  • @draco4506 War between European countries? You are joking, surely? We cannot afford to fight each other. We must unite if we are to compete with emerging economies like China. And no, the new world order thing you believe in is utterly bullshit.

  • @ToaJoe Please remind me of what I said regarding War between European countries. I am not sure where that came from. Now this is fact. Europe had been fighting amongst themselves for centuries. Up until the USA put down bases after WWII. I am more worried about the culture War that Islam is winning with. As for the NWO. I am not sure what you think my opinion about it is. It seems you are trying to put words into my mouth. Personally, I do not appreciate you trying to do so.

  • @ToaJoe As far as NWO (New World Order). I am not sure what you think. Do you think it exists? Or do you think it is a bunch of BS? Personally, I believe this group exists. There is proof everywhere. I am against it. We have trouble getting gov't to work efficiently at the lowest levels. Let alone some world socialistic gov't. Remember I am a Conservative. Many of us do not like change. I am ok with very very slow change. I know many Libs in the USA that are all for it. More gov't.
