I was considering buying a BMW F800 GS, but i have now discovered this bike & think i looks perfect! Never seen one, or sat/ridden one in real life (yet) but i just thought id mention the only point to this bike that is just a little off putting...no matter what exhaust system it has fitted to it....they all seem to sound like an old tractor at idol! Would anyone owners agree?

How many MPG"s does this bike get???

I am looking into getting my first street bike.

I'm trying to decide whether i should get a Sport bike like a Yamaha YZF R6 or a 690 SMC like this.

a supermoto is not even good for a third bike......neither is a r6

but to answer your question...its a single cylinder....so id say around 30-45 mpg.

@biglandfarm Well i have been riding motocross for quite sometime now. So i do have some experience off road.

What bike would you suggest then?

I want something to commute but then again something i could ride up in the canyons.

@fordkiller......a ninja 250r is a great 1st bike....you can do highway commute and ride some technical roads while making some beginner mistakes and be able to ride away (for example entering a corner to earlie etc)

but if u think its too small go with a suzuki gs 500 or a kawasaki ex 500.

Husaberg: 114kg.....72ps(hp).....Service about every 40 hours of running...!!!

KTM 690: 138kg......74ps(hp)...with Akrapo. and other mapping.....Service after 6200 miles...

then you will know what mono power means!!!!

my dear friend ive been racing mx for 6 years.. and i work in a husky shop so trust me i know what power means lmao.. the 690 smc is aight but way too heavy better for longer tours ya but djust dont compare it to the berg fs650 man..

i dont understand why you say eveyr 1000miles .. lol ytube talkers say always valve fixing after 5 hours WTF? my smr450 had 28k kilometers than i had to change the piston etc.. an oil change with the filter is enough every 5k kilometers..

I have a suzuki drz 400 sm which is great and cheap to run , but maybe next year want to change to a more powerfull super moto looked at the husky 610 amd ktm 690 ...what would you recommend

@boomerhgt well to be honest i just drove the 525 from ktm had an amazing power and a great sound but overall handling etc sucked..i propose u to get something like a smr510 it has 55hp on like 114kg great handling double exhaust a .. in any way it depends on what you gonna do with it, if you want to to sometimes a some miles on the highway or longer tours dont get the 610 the husky 630 will be out in like 2 months it has 60hp stock a bit heavyier than the others a longer transmission.cheers

Im the happy owner of the Sm and id say if ur up for Speeding then the SMC is better but if ur more up for actual distances the SM is much better and comfi +it has an ability to carry 2 ppl in a decent way,else theres no differet stuff appart than the LOOK
