The hover shoes should work because of the North and South poles of magnets right? so if the magnets are both North then they should repel and should levitate, however it should be very difficult to hover.

Actually, go back and watch the original. Right in the beginning, all 4 magnets sit about 1-2 inches apart from each other. Get two magnets strong enough to hold a golf club off the ground and they won't sit like that. Now 2 magnets, each strong enough to independently hold a MICROWAVE OVEN off the ground...
Now, I'm certainly no expert in magnetism/electromagnetism, but I think you're right about those being ordinary ceramic magnets.
I have serious doubts about hot glue being able to hold 50 lbs. of continuous pressure. Having magnets of that strength as close together as they were, I would think they'd rip off the shoes, either to stick together (as would normal +/- magnets) or fly apart (in the case of same-polarity).
Setting aside all the other flaws with the original video (incomplete circuit, magnets magically repelling uncharged metal, magnets magically conducting electricity, angle of the "feet" while hovering, and being able to hover directly above a beam without getting pushed off to the side -- if you don't know what I mean, try to push the same polarity magnets together keeping them flush):
so lets say i spray black paint on your windows and tell you its night would that be ok with you? i will assume not as it would damage your property and keep you in the dark wich is what he is doing and he is keeping people in the dark from science.

The hover shoes should work because of the North and South poles of magnets right? so if the magnets are both North then they should repel and should levitate, however it should be very difficult to hover.

I have found a magnet capable of reverse polarity, It does not require, anything but a metal surface to repel. All I had to do was reverse it. I know his design failed, but the only problem I have with you is that you didn't even try to improve on the idea... Actually, go back and watch the original. Right in the beginning, all 4 magnets sit about 1-2 inches apart from each other. Get two magnets strong enough to hold a golf club off the ground and they won't sit like that. Now 2 magnets, each strong enough to independently hold a MICROWAVE OVEN off the ground...
Now, I'm certainly no expert in magnetism/electromagnetism, but I think you're right about those being ordinary ceramic magnets.

I have serious doubts about hot glue being able to hold 50 lbs. of continuous pressure. Having magnets of that strength as close together as they were, I would think they'd rip off the shoes, either to stick together (as would normal +/- magnets) or fly apart (in the case of same-polarity).

maybe but many of his other videos are just as bad in basic principal. and this is the only one posted on that date. in talking to him he was serious about it so i shall persist.

besides, a battery is a DC source, while, in order to make a magnetic field that continually pushes away from something (like a monorail), you need AC, distributed over lots of coils... but one great rant dude!

any way you direct 2 of the same poles towards each other and do it so as to keep the floating one in the magnetic field. i saw a thing one time had a magnet around a magnet and the outside attracted the bottom magnet and the middle repelled. IDK if it worked but worth a try
