Don't compare the "archos 9" and the "ipad" its like comparing apples and onions. I dont like any IMT or PMP They just cant do what i need them to do. The archos 9 is cheap. and it gives me the freedom to rip it apart, when it comes to software.
Why is everyone raging? This looks pretty epic. I do wish that the chrome or apple app store was available to more devices like this, would make it a load better.
@EkingRDL its got a hard drive it cant be thinner. They just came out with a SSD model But I don't think they are going to re design just to make it thinner
This thing is horrible. Having a full sized operating system for a tablet is just the opposite of what it is made for. Tablets are for quick easy access to email and web browsing. If you want something more than that and still be portable, then that is what a laptop is for. This thing is junk. Theres a reason why iPad sales beat this thing in sales. Because its just a stupid underpowered product.

@jeffhardy4499 Apparently you didn't read my reply to him. This came out before the iPad. It has more features, plus its cheaper. It has a REAL operating system that most other computers use. It is a Laptop but more portable, unlike the iPad that has very limited features. Don't even bring up apps, Windows has REAL applications.

not 1080p smartass, same as the ipad.
second it has a 600mhz processor or the top version with 800mghz compared to the ipads 1ghz underclocked cpu, if u ran it at its original 1.4ghz it would be even faster with 10hrs of battery life which is twice as fast with better battery
you can squeeze 7hrs of battery life on this while u can get 14hrz on ipad

@Henson222 just look at the different os's, windows 7 wil run on anything (granted its slow on some machines) but it works, IOS4 or OSX whatever the ipad uses is talored to that persific hardware, in the archos 9 you swap the harddrive with another 1.8" hdd and you have a USB!, F**K your bluetooth keyboards id rathur a wired keyboard. and before you go saying a bluetooth keyboard is better, guess what Archos have got that covered aswell !
OK, so it is 8.9 inches LED. That is smaller than the iPad, and it doesn't say anything about IPS either. The battery like is only 5 hours, that is half the amount of the iPad as well.

OK well the 5" one is a different tablet apparently. On the site it reads different HD sizes, but that must mean a bigger screen size, because a 500 GB HD won't fit in a 5" device.
