  • No dislikes in a video where the sync is so far off it is kind of annoying. The emphasis of content over form is somewhat heartening - but then again, it is probably skewed by the audience (smart people)

  • Considering the fact that most gods want non-believers killed and tortured FOREVER so I think our 'shots' don't seem so cheap after all. In fact they are quite restrained in comparison to the barely-hidden sanctimony some believers have when they tell us we are going to hell.

Anyway, if god is so powerful then why would a 'cheap shot' be such a problem for him?

  • @adey5 And if God is so powerful, Why doesn't he just get rid of everything which goes against him? Like Atheists and homosexuals.

  • @symetry08 actually morals do change over time slavery was once accepted so was sacrifice in some cultures and let us not forget feministic equality was once nonexistent.

  • @megabeaver23 You mean sexual equality, not feministic. Whatever the differences between males and females be they are, in the eyes of the law, equal in nearly all cases. The difference between masculine and feminine is a totally different thing and is societal and personal, not lawerly.

  • @TheAvictor37 brainwashing filth.

    fuck off with your spam.

  • 2 plus 2 equals 4 this equation won't change for eternity same as decency and morality no matter who rules universe of ours or others.

  • @deanhoward8 That's not true, this show is fantasticly useful for educating those who can be saved from ahting atheists because they do not know what they are or being scared to call themselves atheists because they do not know what it means.

This show educates really well. The anger usually arises when an IDIOT thinks he is SMART

so your comment would probably have made them angry on the show.

  • Why do atheists have to be so flaunty about their 'choice' to be atheists, who fucking cares.

  • I could ask the same question to you about religious nuts. The difference between athiests and theists lies in the fact that athiests are right. Sure, that's an arrogant statement to make, but it's true. Religion is so fucking stupid, I don't know where to begin ranting. They're all man made and false. Personally I don't care if people want to believe in fairy tales, I just ask that they do it in their homes and or churches. Keep religion OUT of the public sector.

  • @420HashSmoker Arrogant statements are made by arrogant people.

  • @Poseidon500 ...and I bet you felt so damn intelligent when you thought of that one liner.

  • @420HashSmoker It does not take a lot of intelligence to make a simple truthfull statement. You yourself claim that your statement was arrogant. Therefore if you make an arrogant statement, and verify it yourself in the same comment, you must indeed be arrogant.

There is nothing wrong with being a little arrogant. I'd be a hypocrite to say otherwise.

  • @Jamez1818 Simple: birth control, abortion, stem cell research, science education, liberation from pointless guilt and the fear of hell.

Although granted it as important to teach skeptical thinking in general as it is to discredit particular beliefs.

  • @Jamez1818 Why do christians have to be so flaunty about their 'choice' to be christians, who fucking cares.

  • Twatty people are twatty people no matter what they believe

Douchebags come in all races genders nationalities sexual preferences and religions or lack therof

  • @atheistfriends This isn't quite the differnce between atheists and theists, the difference is more like this.

    Atheist answer stays the same

Theist answer: *in head* "I don't know why?" *out loud* because when the kettle is on pixies start to dance in the water and they huff and puff a lot.

  • Semir313 This comment is to you

If God's plan is to force the "1 belief" into 3 Waring Factions that hate, kill, rape, and destroy each other, then I have Five words for you

    "Your God Is A Cunt!"

"This is a test..." yeah, a 'test' from an Evil, Vindictive Asshole in the sky

    fuck religion ¬_¬

  • Stupid god...

  • Making "jabs" at religion only shows ignorance and misunderstanding. You're only making a complete fool of yourself when you say things like, "The sect that molests children". If you cannot see the fundamental flaw of just that one statement, then your are a complete moron, and should just shut up.

  • Why shouldn't I mock ridiculous, unsubstantiated claims?

  • I have absolutely no intention of respecting bullshit claims.

  • Respect is earned.

Some deserve no respect, i have no respect for the views of a child rapist and will show none.

I also don't respect anybody who believes the bible is gods word because these people have either

    a) not read the bible in full (in this case your to lazy to read your own gods words and deserve no respect)

    b) have read the bible in full and have found a way to justify all the evil in the bible and still call it gods word

Why should i show respect my friend?????

  • Religion also made the foundation of modern civilization Moral Behavior and so much more..It teaches us soo much....and to love and care for one another....listen I'm not here to change anyone's mind...god bless all of u believers and None believers....

  • Don't you dare say that you #^$%wit, that is the most disrespectful thing you can say. It's akin to saying may Kim Jung Ill bless you.

How many children have you stoned to death???? I'm guessing ZERO. If morality comes from the bible Stoning children and women, rape and slavery are perfectly fine. Then why don't you. You pick the moral from the bible and recognise the immoral. So does the bible give us our morality or do we apply our morality to it? The answer is clear to all but your type

  • WTF are you talking about the bible..teaches us Moral..but u also gotta understand the bible was written 1000000 years ago soo shit that was normal back then aint normal now...And the bible was written by humans so its not the perfect word of god...they are false documents... Dont dare what ???...

  • Don't dare say god bless me,

So normalcy = morality. Even back then how many stoned their unruly children, i agree it should be disregarded as morality now but people i'm sure disregarded alot of it as immoral when the words were first spoke.

So i think our only disagreement is you think respect should be given to people who believe in a text you and I find immoral now and i don't think they should have any respect.

  • Sorry, but religion is not the foundation of modern civilization.

Morals have developed a lot since Christianity was founded.

Either God changed his mind, but that goes against being eternally perfect, and thus cannot be.

So Morals had to change independently of God.

The moment one realise that morals are not bound to the existance of a God, it becomes clear that in reality, the Churches didn't change morality of society, but rather adopted to the changed morals of society.

  • @Semir313 you retard.

  • @Semir313 Please please please please please please please please please read Moral Minds by Harvard Professor Marc D. Hauser, then come back to retract what you wrote...

  • @Semir313 This is not 100% but over 50% bullshit.

Religion existed in the civilisations in which morality was being codified. Morality came from the world and the people, religion grew out of the morality.

  • And of course you say all that while being disrespectful. You're a bit of an ass Semir...

  • explain to me how am I disrespectful....what did I say wrong about atheist..?????.....You guys are the ones who are throwing mud at religion and I love my religion of course I will speak up....BUT DID I SAY THAT WAS SO DISRESPECTFUL ???....Pleaseeee

  • You called atheists dicks, to begin with.

  • look at the things the called me and the things they said about my religion..and all did is called dicks and asses cuz they acted like ones..?????? hjahaha

  • You're still disrespectful, fucka.

  • explain how kid ??

  • Easy, by not showing respect.

  • put the bong down kid..

  • @Semir313 If you claim to have truth and I have counterknowledge I am not being a dick by saying "you're wrong" you are a dick by saying "I can be wrong if I want to and you're never allowed to tell me I'm wrong"

  • Atheists FTW!!

  • The fact that people waste their lives for an invisible man in the sky and a hollow promise of heaven, and prefer it that way, can only be appropriately responded to in two ways: pity for the person, and laughing at them. Pity is useless in all situations because it provides no positive outcome. Laughing alienates that person, perhaps to a point where they actually introspect for the first time in their life, thus creating a positive from a negative. So, jab away at religion. They deserve it.

  • you simply do not understand what atheism is. And your assertions about life, death, and beliefs only show just how ignorant of a person you are. So much so, that your message was marked as spam. You probably think its because this is an atheist video...but really, its because you are too closed minded.

Introspect, ask yourself the tough questions, then get back to me, k?

  • Wow Valu777... you totally convinced me...

of that fact that you're a moron!

  • @valu777 Are you a moron? Take a look at history. Thousands of people have been murdered in the name of your God, all justified by the claim that they were commanded by God. This is ridiculous, God has been used as an excuse to kill. Preachers and priests all reap the benefits from the collection plate, they ask for money for God but you can't give a God that doesn't exist a materialistic item. Religion is fueled by fear and greed. Evolution is a fact. There is no proof Jesus even existed at all

  • @valu777 let alone the son of a imaginary God. There is one way of life. What is it? LIVE. You live in fear of death and let the lies of an afterlife keep you warm at night. If God is the only reason you live then you are delusional. There is no spiritual lake of fire in the center of the planet where a horned man created by God himself rules. Please, for the sake of humanity, STOP spreading these blatant lies and allow the real truth to strive in this world, or at least don't reproduce.

  • It's best to rattle the head a bit, esp. with beliefs as heavily inculcated as those pushed by religion. As long as religious communities continue to ignore or support condemnation of non-believers , they deserve to lick the shit of my dog's ass.

  • man made or happened naturally, like how a bumblebee can fly, incorrect actually they did prove it, science was just imperfect, there are also the pillars of creation, they don't exist anymore, they were destroyed 6000 years ago by a supernova explosion though looking at them, they've been called a star nursery the pillars are made up of dust and Hydrogen gas densely packed together to form the image of the pillars, though they're saying that they got their shape through photo evaporation of

  • I agree with both of your statements but there's one thing about your second one, just meeting someone who is claimed to be an idea is enough, just look at schizophrenics, face to face yes, the meeting proves the existence, but immediately there's no proof of their ideas/people. Some Christians claim to have met God, but I've not seen anything to back that up, what I do say would justify some sort of spiritual being would be something so out of the ordinary, it would be impossible to say it was

  • Here's a "cheap" shot"

Why would god have to resort to killing innocent Egyptian babies, which have nothing to do with the problem in order to persuade or scare the Egyptians into releasing the jews?

    Anyone?

  • Because the Egyptian leaders were tyrannical and really, if you didn't put up the blood, you probably hated the guts of the people who did, everything in the Universe is God's anyway, does he enjoy the slaughter of innocent children? No, but he had already done everything up until that point, he was not only punishing the Egyptians for their crimes against their people but he was also showing them a reason to believe, every Egyptian firstborn dying would be a big coincidence. (cont)

  • Also, I heard an interesting video, I can't remember what it's called, but Egyptian children I think slept if not on the ground but very close to it, they were talking about this gas that might've crept over their society and killed the children because A. they have small bodies and B. they were on the floor, again this is me talking about a vid I saw, don't take my word for it though, try to find some sort of evidence, if you can't find any, assume I'm a loony I guess.

  • "does he enjoy the slaughter of innocent children? No, but he had already done everything up until that point,"

So, what you're saying, this imaginary super being, with unlimited power to create the universe, has no other options but to resort to killing innocent children to make some puny humans do what he wants.

That's pretty naive an limited thinking on god's part, and yours.

Sounds more like the interpretations of "human" actions in conflict than that of an omnipotent god.

  • This story, along with others in the bible, shows how human interpretation of what a god would be or do in certain situations.

And considering the fact that GOD HAS NEVER MATERIALIZED TO ANYONE, then or now, it stands to reason that the bible is the word of man, NOT god.

  • The idea is that people have freedom to rebel, while they have the freedom to rebel, it doesn't hold them safe from God's wrath. Just want to say that wrath isn't always direct punishment, it could also be Him turning His back on a nation and let the humans do what they want and deal with their own problems. You can't prove that God never materialized to anyone as much as I can't prove that God did so aside from using the Bible and pointing out the existence of Jesus in books like the tahmin.

  • First, unless this imaginary being has personally contacted you directly, it's not possible that you could comprehend any of the reasons behind it's actions.

Second, I don't have to prove god doesn't exist. That burden lies with those who are so sure he does exist, yet have never shown any proof of such existence. Instead, they defend something that they themselves have never seen, but have been told it does. The level of guillibility is quite baffling.

  • You blatantly contradict yourself. How does the burden of proving God doesn't exist lie with the people who believe in him? I think they would just keep on believing what they believe, right? The burden does lie with you, obviously, since you're on here debating it. If it didn't you'd just go on hoping that a man who believes in God will try to prove himself wrong, but that won't happen and that's why you're here arguing it.

  • Yes. I realized It was poorly phrased.

    I meant to say:

the burden of proving god's existence lies with his believers.

"The burden does lie with you, obviously, since you're on here debating it."

It does not lie with me since, I am not the one making such incredible claims for god's existence. I am simply awaiting an intelligent universally accepted answer.

So, to recap. There's no debate here. It's really quite simple - What proof do you have of god's existence?

  • I don't have proof either way. I never said I had proof. I was merely pointing out the flaw in your argument. But while we're on it, a man who swears there is no God is the same as a man who swears there is. Neither can prove it beyond the realm of their own beliefs. So I don't choose a stance on this subject. It's a debate that can't be won. Religion can be disproved, because it can be seen, and analyzed. God cannot. And that's a fact with or without faith. We'll know when we die.

  • "a man who swears there is no God is the same as a man who swears there is. Neither can prove it beyond the realm of their own beliefs."

I never said that I swore on anything. Simply that there is no proof presented for the existence of god as put forth by religion. Again, the burden of proof lies with those who claim it so adamantly.

"Religion can be disproved, because it can be seen, and analyzed. God cannot. "

    Exactly my point.

  • By the way, the word god is a man made word associated with a supreme male being/creator. What can't be seen can't possibly have such a label to describe it, since it is essentially unknown.

  • Alright, then we're on the same page. The way you spoke of God as imaginary I thought you were against the possibility of the existence of a God rather than against religion.

  • Yes, but let me clarify. Based on no evidence of the god(s) described in ANY written text, I do believe that those gods are imaginary. It is the only logical and intelligent conclusion.

I'm open to the idea of something that may exist beyond our level of understanding. Will we ever experience it, who knows?

The bigger question is how people are so willing to believe in a god that was never there.

  • The deepest question you can ask with one word.

    Why?

And that question was easily answered with God. And everybody could rest easy. But the fact that belief gives comfort doesn't mean that God was created for that purpose. Just that the idea of God, real or fictional, gives people hope. A hope that I wouldn't try to take from them.

  • "And that question was easily answered with God. And everybody could rest easy."

Sorry, but I'm still waiting for proof of this god's answer.

  • I wasn't giving you proof, I was telling you why people believe in God. They need a purpose other than living and dying. And there is no answer. None that I can give. I think you have me mistaken as trying to prove the existence of God, I'm not. If you want proof there is none, as you said, but then again no proof to the contrary either. Even all science's explanations could just be part of God's plan.

  • I agree that people want and need to know the purpose to life.

I also think that what has been written fall far short. Religion is a culmination of stories, that's it. Yet, people take them as the absolute truth based on nothing more than testimonials dating back to a more naive time in history.

I say, if a god does exist he/she/it will become obvious to ALL of us. Until that happens, everything written about god is pure speculation and fantasy on our parts and should not be sold as truth.

  • "But the fact that belief gives comfort doesn't mean that God was created for that purpose. "

Belief also states to kill your own child if instructed to by god. It instills fear in those who do not follow the rules. Condemns homosexuals. Advocates killing in the name of god. It has so many contradictions, that it screams of falsehood. Worst of all, it was initiated by men, who felt they were important enough to dictate how we should live.

That is just arrogance, not some god's word.

  • Alright seems we're targeting religion here. I never defended religion in my earlier statements. A persons belief in God and the stories in the bible are two different things. When I said belief I never spoke of religious beliefs I spoke of their belief in God regardless of religious orientation.

  • Yes. I only target religion.

To that point, I have to say that religion is the reference point from which belief is attained. I mean, if it wasn't for the religious documents/stories, there would be no origin of references to a god in the first place. So, the two, belief in god and the stories in bible/koran/torah, are forever connected. Those documents are the original sources from which people base their beliefs.

  • No it's the chicken and the egg :). Without God (or concept of) there would be no religious documents, nothing to spread the word about. But if you mean no God ANYMORE, then I agree. But I do believe humans at one time worshiped the sun as God so I believe the concept of God was inevitable and would bring religion.

Anyway I agree with you religion is 90% BS, scare tactics.

  • Even if that hope keeps your kids away from the dr. in hopes that praying will cure them?

  • Not to that extent. Religious extremists are a different problem. Hitler, Bin Laden, they can't be held in the same category as the average religious person. Basically my point was if it ain't broke don't fix it. Yes, people who choose prayer over medicine (which could well have been God's plan which makes them idiots even in their own religions) should be smacked. But those who harmlessly believe in a God can't really be fixed, to convince them there is no God would change them profoundly.

  • thats another problem with the religious people. If they get sick, they try to live do they not? Well if god controls everything didn't he make you sick? Who are MEN to create medicine to change gods plan? Think about all the bullshit that your god does to hurt you, natural disasters, illnesses and things like that. He also loves you to no end, is all forgiving an created a place of eternal suffering to punish people who break his rules!

  • Once again this isn't all religious people who do this. That's a stereotype. Most religious people use medicine, and if God created man and man created medicine then - by extension - God created medicine (assuming there is a God). Just because a person get's sick does that mean that this God want's them to die? I don't think so.

  • Yeah means god wants them to die...when god calls u gotta go home...

  • "Good Die Young?"

  • the D12 song ??? .....YES!!!!!!!!! lol

  • I agree with part of that no on can prove he NEVER materialized, but as for turning his back us, can we assume every time something bad happens that God has turned his back on us for some reason?

I'm not trying to prove anything I'm not Atheist (at least I think I'm not) I prefer agnostic. I just have to fill the holes in these stories and beliefs.

  • Well in my opinion, and you should look into this, the bad things come naturally, the difference between his wrath and his love though is that when they do, the bad things make us stronger and better in the end, while if we turn our back on him, it will just destroy us. My view, again, look into it beyond what I have to say and get as many perspectives as you can.

  • @XxZaitenxX God hardened pharoahs heart so that pharoah could not accede to moses's requests. That is not free will, that is your god being an asshat.

  • Why not kill the Pharoah and his men? Then the slaves could leave and no innocent

    children would have to die.

  • Well, the fact that religious people do horrible things isn't proof against religion, just proof that humans are fallible, which even the religions agree with (that's why they demand more faith and dogma). But, religion in practice seems to care more about dogma and tradition than the possible original intent, which was to tell people how to live. And even then, the "right way to live" has changed significantly so the existing religions are even the best at that.

  • This should have more views. =\
