Is it wrong to feel quite disappointed at how nujabes just dug up lots of hidden gems, took the whole song then hooked a beat on to it and then wa-lah? because thinking about it, most of his songs is just literally the whole song of the sample - not that its uncommon, or hurting; but still feeling a tad bit disappointed?
@PatchOfGrass He doesn't use the whole song...and you make sampling sound easy. Jun not only sampled but he improvised ont he songs :/ If you think it's so easy, then why doesn't everyone do it?
@PatchOfGrass I'm sorry, have you ever tried sampling a song? I tried about 5 times to sample a song from instrumentals using FL Studio, but not ONE song was even as good as his songs. Sorry, I just wanted to share my opinion.
@PatchOfGrass I see how you feel, but I think you are looking at it all the wrong way; sampling is an art, and many can ATTEMPT to do so, but few (and don't take the word "few" literally) can actually master it in the Hip-Hop community. Besides, many Nujabes fans have since gotten into the groove of music that, without Nujabes, would probably never have encountered in their life.
@PatchOfGrass i feel you. but be honest, if it wasnt for nujabes, how the hell would you know that those tracks even existed.? hip hop samples tracks all the time.. so dont feel too down
@PatchOfGrass hip hop has always been about sampling. and its not that easy. nujabes took these tracks and flipped them properly into great beats, giving them new life. the way he reworked this stuff is more complex than simply throwing a beat on top. nujabes is still goat.
@PatchOfGrass Nope,lot's of producers sometimes feel like not cutting the sample and use a bigger part or maybe the entire song with pitch modulation,or a filter,or speed up the sample,slow it up. That doesn't lower the value of Nujabes' production,at least not in my opinion,being original means not showing your sources.
@PatchOfGrass I want to tell myself that too, sure, nujabes basically sampled entire chunks of songs and latched a beat, but that's what you loved about his stuff to begin with - regardless of whether or not he took it from someone else. Had he not existed, we probably would have NEVER heard of any of these beautiful songs! Think about it, all of these gems would never be listened to, gone to time, and I appreciate it a lot more. RIP nujabes and everyone else who made these songs.
@rafastarporco No problem. I figured it was about time to make a new video. By the way, this time I uploaded the samples to megaupload so people can download them all in one place. Link in Video Description.
@kfcman33 thanks! you are a god among humans T_T nujabes sure loved brazilian artists, laurindo almeida is a great musician, totally gonna download more of him! thanks once again for sharing!
You think you can reupload the sample songs?

@PatchOfGrass
1.
I don't think you understand how difficult sampling actually is, let alone making a beat over it.
2.
The whole song?
He uses the intros of them, that's not the whole thing.
