  • we love this!

  • brilliant

  • Very impressive! This song seems too difficult for me to play though. What chords do you use?

  • @StreetlightEagle Thanks for taking the time to comment. Capo 3rd Fret Drop D Verse D/A, G, F sharp, E, A, Bm Chorus Bm, D Bm, D/A, G, A7, G Repeat The G and F sharp only require one finger on the 5th and 4th fret respectively and the E chord is played with first finger on 2nd fret E string and second fingeron the 2nd fret D string. I don't know if I play it exactly like Richard Thomspon but I think it's pretty much the same.

  • Wow! A genuinely great performance of a R.T. masterpiece -- best song ever written? Great stuff!!!!!!!!

  • i love this song so much, my names ruth dan!!!! will u go out wit me??

  • Thanks for the comment. Dan would love to go out with you provided he can bring his girlfriend!!

  • Wonderful voice! You made it your own yet lost none of the original feeling behind the song. I think this is the best cover of "Beeswing" that I have ever heard - excluding mine, of course! ;-)

I hope you're still performing - it would be interesting to hear something you wrote yourself.

  • Well done.

  • You've a wonderful voice, but it's your phrasing that wins it for me. Different from Richard's, and still great for the song. Too many people cover it with no thought to the phrasing, but this is sweet. Good stuff.

  • nice, very well done

  • I have listened to this so many times. One of my favourite local preformers done it a few months ago at O'Reilly's here in Newfoundland, and it was the first time I ever heard it. I fell in love with it, but this version is just amazing. What an awesome job.

  • The best song ever penned and done to some justice here.

  • Beautiful...but where's the guitar solo between verses?

  • cheers man fairplate to ya boy thanks for that

  • Incredible Job! Wonderful version of an amazing song.

  • great job. ? what chords are you picking

  • Capo 3rd Fret

    Drop D

    Verse

    D/A, G, F sharp, E, A, Bm

    Chorus

    Bm, D

    Bm, D/A, G, A7, G

    Repeat

The G and F sharp only require one finger on the 5th and 4th fret respectively and the E chord is played with first finger on 2nd fret E string and second fingeron the 2nd fret D string. I don't know if I play it exactly like Richard Thomspon but I think it's pretty much the same.

  • What a song - and nicely performed. all the best

  • Thanks for the Comment, I will pass it on to Dan.

  • Fantastic! A beautiful song sang with pure emotion. Please release it!

  • Thanks for the comment, i'll pass it on to Dan.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Voice and emotion is so touching, please record this!

  • Dan Wilde is truly magic :)

Lovely touch and a beautiful voice, the videos don't do him justice!

  • great great job, brilliant RT song one of his best

  • Your keep the beauty of folk alive in great style! Beautiful rendition 5*'s

  • Beautiful song and a great cover!!

Full marks to you, well played and nicely sung.

  • This is so Lovely I love this song I'm very impressed with your performance of it.

  • excellent version dan!!!keep up the good work!!

  • Excellent version and a much better voice that Richard's. You really do justice to such a beautiful song!

  • awesome! lovely delicate guitar work and a strong clear voice.

Hope to see some more vids posted ...

    From a teenage folkie!

  • Great cover, really really good guitar work. Keep em comin!!!

  • Fair play to you. Nice version by someone too young to really give the nostalgic poignant touch of an older man singing the song

  • Good to see the future of folk is safe in the hands of young guys like you Dan; this is a quality treatment of a lovely song. Sometimes a song gets lost in a flurry of flash fingers (I don't include Thompson in this) but your balance between fingerstyle guitar and soleful singing is spot on.

Power to your elbow - I'll try to catch one of your gigs before I get too old to get out nights...

    Jim

  • great,,,, A++++
