the ba ji quan is considered to be the most effective art in the taoist martial arts after the greatest daoist master li shu wen. where his record was considered to be zero losses. or no losses throughout his lifetime and while traveling around the world. he won almost all the fights. he didnt lose even a single fight and this was the reason for y ba ji quan was considered to be the most effective during the time of mao tse tung. it is the toughest chinese kung fu style ever!!!
I like this... To be honest, it doesn't seem like a matter of size, but of experience.. The baji fighter had more training obviously. Styles don't fight for themselves. I'm not learning baji because I can't due to where I live, but I am studying the art as much as I can so that I can work it's ideas of "having no set stance" and "exploding with instantanious power" into my own wing chun training. :) this is helps me understand a little more.
a true size disadvantage, probably an age advantage as well,a bigger muay thai fighter wouldnt have a problem. Why wont they use fighters of the same size when having two different styles
its not like i'm dekker but, this dude was not doing a great job of pulling off muay thai well :(, he didn't trip or low roundhouse when the baji dude came in, he didn't catch the baji dude off guard with a front leg roundhouse, low round or even front kick, and he just came in for punches D: i love bajiquan its really cool, but if this dude used some upper level moves like the baji dude was, this would have been a very different fight, then again they were sparring so maybe thats why.
It's not just that the black guy (I think his name is Asia?) is bigger than his opponent, it's that he's obviously more muscular. The white kid would've stood more of a chance if he were stronger.
@papertiger7 Don't get me wrong, I never said they were trying to beat each other's brains out I just meant that the big guy is just using his size to simply overpower his opponent rather than display the wide range of techniques his style employs. Also I'm not saying its wrong.
black is bigger than whity, thats why black looks like he is owning white. any mid level fighter can take that black down. dont just run and try to look active dude, just give several hits on jaw. then change of the fight. boom!

That guy was getting thrown around..although he did do well, especially got a few hits into the baji fighter trunk-torso, good use of his size although his smartest move was going on the defensive x3. Thanks for posting this.
The baji fighter is novice, no baji fighter would attack with shoulder from far. He doesn't even use his elbows and he does not counterattack. He won because he is huge but he doesn't have any technique what so ever.

Indeed, this is a unfair fight since the the black guy is more heavier than the white kid.
Anybody who is interested in Baji must be willing to face hardships and also to acknowledge the fact that you'll have to spend most of your life to achieve a high level. Thus I respect masters who dedicated their whole lives to reach such a high level. Baji uses a special way of issuing power and therefore can be used and build upon even in old age. It could be said that, proper Bajiquan training will give you the ability to become like a "human cannon."
Bajiquan isn't necessarily for big people. Bajiquan's training gives you a sturdy foundation and that foundation allows the practitioner to issue Baji's special man-made force. Keep in mind that the eastern body structure is more like a triangle as they emphasize on stronger legs and a good base. Liu Yun Qiao, for example, was not very big but his foundation, or the lower part of his body, was very good. Baji is a very hard art to master even if given proper painful training.

Last but not least, anyone who believes Baji Quan is an art based more on force than precision is in for a rude awakening if ever they are "lucky" enough to face an exceptional Baji Master or use Baji Quan in a real life situation. All martial arts pay homage and emphasis on technique expressly because they are supposed to be used to enhance one's probability of winning beyond their current circumstances. Thus the more styles you learn after firmly grasping one for a reference point, the safer.
That said, it would help if a Bazi practitioner was in fact very well built, not necessarily BIG but compact and sturdy, not lanky and flimsy. I think that's something we need to be careful about when talking about size. Some fighters are like little pin-balls, tiny but so compact its a marvel in itself. The other point to make is that bigger opponents naturally generate more power if they are doing the exact same things, that I agree with. But sometimes smaller also means more precision.
One of the things that bother me the most is the whole Baji fitting the more massive opponent better. Close examination of possibilities using Baji Quan will render this idea a half truth at best. One example would be the smaller fighter having more room to perform devastating attacks against the large frame of a bigger opponent. The other is the attention to sharpness of attacks in Baji Quan that if given a smaller area of concentration produces a piercing effect as opposed to a hammering one.
I agree with theconqueror especially about the person making an art flow and thrive. It almost always follows that you get one of those exceptional fighters who use a certain technique better than any other person and that "that certain technique" then gets revered and ridiculously publicized. Like Huo Yuan Jia to Mizhong Quan, Ip Man to Wing Chun, Bruce Lee to Chinese Martial Arts in general (though I tend to see it as lots of media coverage on his part), and more recently Gracie to BJJ.
doesnt matter, its not the same weight, if that black buy was muay thai, he would dominate the little guy anyway cause of the weight difference, i dont know if this video is trying to show something, but this is all todal bulsht, you cant tell what the best style is by seeing 2 anybodies with different styles fighting, the person using the art, is the person that makes the art good, not the art itself, but who is using it , is what matters
@theconqueror omg all this shit about weight. Really dude? You play sports aparently, a real fighter doesn't piss and bullshit about weight. Good luck on the streets kid.
Makes sense, actually. The shoulder strike is used in Bajiquan and the Japanese name for the art is Hakkyokuken. That's Akira's fighting style, isn't it?
@TsangBokyan if the black guy is using bajiquan then that is a legitimate used in the martial arts. There are many moves used in baji that consists of pushing or shoving with certain body parts, shoulders, arms, head, legs, etc.
Actually - that's a very poor example of Baji Vs. Muay Thai - The black guy is 4" taller, and 60 pounds heavier. NO SHIT a shoulder hit will toss him to the floor!
I want to see a Baji fighter who is 160 issue any sort of power like that.
He who fights without thinking will always lose to he who thinks without fighting. Until you understand that, you'll just be another loud mouthed wannabe MMA brawler.
I find it absolutely hillarious how, even without knowing anything about me such as my height, weight, speed, reflexes, training, how many styles I've studies, which styles, or even how many years I've been studying, you presume you're better than me. Even funnier is how you feel you must prove something to me, because I have nothing to prove. You've proven everything I've said about you.
I don't know. It kinda looks like the smaller guy opened up his big mouth to the test and bet that he could take him out, even with gloves on. Because it sounds like he bigger guy is trying to prove a point. This scenerio happens all the time. Hey, but i could be wrong. The kid has spunk though.
What a Joke, that Muay Thai Student probably had like a couple months of training. Any Experienced Thai Fighter wouldn't have even had to set up for the high kicks he could land. Not including all the leg kicks, and ribs broken, and thats just from kicks. Gimme a break, both those dudes are jokes.
That small dude is like 5'0,he might be 4'11,this isn't a fair fight,This kid might be Muay Thai but he doesn't seem to be skilled in it,just because you practice something doesn't make you good at it,and why does he have gloves on and the other guy doesn't that isn't fair, someone can grab you,but you can't grab them back, this fight is unfair in so many ways, its laughable
My fault the gloves don't prevent you from grabbing,I take that back, that was fair in that regard, but this size difference is too drastic,if you're small you must be powerful and fast when fighting a big dude, and this guy is neither, translation he is at a big disadvantage, but he must be giving credit for going toe to toe with this huge martial artist,I'm going to research Bajiiquan after watching this, peace
I wouldn't say he went toe to toe... like you said he didn't try to take advantage of his speed difference. Also, look at how the two handle their ground. The big guy doesn't rush his advance because his weight and controll give him firm ground. The little guy doesn't dance around him to find an angle of attack, he hops around trying to keep the big guy's slow advance from overtaking his ground, and fails miserably. I think that the big guy understands his own style, the little guy doesn't.
Size doesn't matter one bit. It's skill, intellect, and reflexes. If the muay thai guy his size fought like this kid, he'd get wooped even easier because the extra weight would slow him down and also do more damage to him when being thrown. Like I said you can't fight a guy as firm as this straight forward at medium range. You need to either close in the range, develop a firmer hold of the ground, and throw his balance off, or maintain your distance and work him from several angles and levels.
Size does matter. If he ran into a muay-thai fighter his size he would lose because he would be getting punched in the face. You would see alot of jabs, and right hands being used,a muay thai fighter would grab the back of his head and knee him in his ribs. This baji fighter can get away with keeping his hands low because of who he is fighting, try that against bigger Muay Thai fighter, someone his size and the result would be very different
review what I said. if the guy his size fought like this kid, he'd still lose. It's the skill, not just the size, that matters. Being bigger is certainly not going to make the buy punch any faster. It'll just make his strikes have more weight to them. And if the guy is moving around like this guy is, his center of gravity is up towards his stomach which, when added with the extra weight, makes it hurt more when he falls. If he rooted himself, the extra weight would help him hold his ground.
I gotta disagree,if a guy his size fought like the kid he would win, because he would be landing punches to the face, try approaching a muay thai fighter with your hands down and let me know how it goes
well then at this point I'd have to say you know nothing about fighting. I believe this ends our little debate as you seem dead set on preaching capabilities you know nothing about and as such can prove nothing about either.
I can say the same for you.I think you should watch your mouth, because I can prove what I'm talking about,I've trained in Muay-Thai,jeet kune do,filipino kali,I've sparred with guys of all sizes,if you just approach a big muay thai fighter with your hands down you will get hit,it seems you know nothing about fighting or the martial arts for that matter
you evven make researches about baji quan?.i doubt it ,so dont take air of superiority and dont talk shit if you dont know anithing about it, sunwukong4 knows more than you do.
Many MMartists prefer to use sanda in mma competitions but does that mean bajiquan is obselete I've seen bajiquan be used in full contact fights so if someone in mma uses bajiquan techniques then I see no problem.
@amerexile001 you need to look on sanda because it is used alot in MMA in America it's rare but In China and afew places Sanda is known. It is considered by many as the best kung fu for full contact fighting.
you say it is used "a lot" but you failed to give me even one example. i am into mma (from the looks of it) more than you and i only know one fighter who uses it and that was cung le.
@amerexile001 It seems you don't clearly understand what I'm saying "confusing sanda with muay thai" are you serious.
Go look up Chinas Art Of War it's chinas own MMA. From the looks of it you have no idea about me so don't suggest things from the start thank you. You also need to look up patrick barry he has sanda.
not necessarily...granted, I don't think the smaller guy has a particularly high skill level, but I've sparred people I had a crushing advantage over in size, strength, and conditioning, and got between with technique plain and simple. Also, some styles of martial arts are better suited to big people, taking advantage of their size and strength, while others make use of speed and agility. I think Baji Quan fit the dude in this clip.
@tuzwol the fact you think a bajiquan would get hit in the face wasily by muay thai shows your ignorance and the dumbass you truly are. Bajiquan has techniques that can beat those of muay thai so start looking up bajiquan before being a fucking moron again.
@tuzwol still think muay thai doesn't lose to bajiquan well take a look at this muay thai fanboy crane . 50megs . com Interview with master su and martian and rafael matute humbled by master zhu.
Please don't cry after you've read how aguy using bajiquan can beat a muay thai.
@SunWukong4 ,i went to the site, and it said and showed what i've been saying Muay Thai fighters have been fuking up those kung-fu fighters and karate fighters for decades. I'm right, I'm always right
@tuzwol that's exact proof you are ignorant did you even bother to read the entire site. Muay Thais and Muay Borans got owned by baji tanglang it's bajiquan, Piguaquan (
you are ignorant did you even bother to read the entire site. Muay Thais and Muay Borans got owned by baji tanglang it's baji, Pigua and mantis. muay thais also got beat by choy lay fut and wing chuners. You are a muay thai fanboy no wonder you don't listen to reason and to further educate you kung fu is not one style it's many stupid muay thais won some kung fus but not every and also kyokushin karatekas beat muay thais in lumpinee stadium.Muay thai is not invinsible you fantard accept the truth
@tuzwol fuck you you asshole bajiquan has a technique that could get out of muay thai clinch and bajiquan mixed with praying mantis making bajitang lang proved effective against muay thai quite being a fantard and stop disrespecting bajiquan.
@SunWukong4, Asshole, he isnt using any technique, he is just using his size and weight as an advantage. Any 6'3, 200lb man can do the exact same thing to this little fighter. You are a moron
@tuzwol I know it's not the size fucking dumbass but I know how a fight would go if a muay thai and a bajiquan fighter would do bajiquan is just as good as muay thai which you didn't realize because you're a fucking dumbass.
you are an idiot buckethead muay thay is nothing compared to baji quan or sanda, watch chung le he kicked all of muay thay fighters asses.he also beated most of mma fighters like frank shamrock.
The only reason this working is because that Muay Thai fighter is small,if this Muay Thai fighter was bigger and lets say the size of this Baji fighter, this baji fighter would get destroyed
only if he has a superior understanding of his own body mecahincs and style. Taking the guy head on the way the little guy did here would still be dangerous for a Muay Thai fighter. Baji is a very powerful and firm style, making it better for dominating the forward and side planes than many other mid-range styles. But while firm, it can also be very explosive and quick. You can find plenty of forms on youtube of this style, check it out.
The Baji fighter was charging with his hands down,he was open to the face and the little man never capitalized, and his rear kick lacks power, when he kicked the guys leg it didnt even phase him,if your rear thai kick lacks power you shouldnt fight because you are not ready
if your reflexes are toned well enough and you're fast enough, you don't need to hold any sort of guarded stance. After all, the best block is to not be where the punch is. And it's not just that his rear kik lacks power, but also lacks speed for drawing it back in. He lets his kick lingers which lets the big guy simply grab his leg and throw him off balance.
But even when the kick landed it did ZERO damage.Look when you're smaller you must be faster and or be powerful, this kid has neither in that case he shouldnt fight a bigger opponent.Size does matter but you can train to make it not matter
sise really doesnt matter !!!! trees are bigger but they still fall !!! same for big muay thay fighters,or other big guys,im a cqc instructor i also practice tai chi and recently sanda.i fought the toughest guys on the streets bigger than i am like 4 to 6 inches, and still beated them, two of them ended with broken bones why for trying to rob my wife.BUT thats not the point a small person can beat a big one.
@MrGamalier Size does matter, your job is to make it not matter. If the small fighter isn't fast, isn't strong, isn't that skillful. Size will definitely matter. Smaller fighters who have tremendous speed and power and skills make size seem irrelevant, . It depends on the person.
@tuzwol dude you know nothing about bajiquan because you a fucking retarded muay thai fan bajiquan is a respected chinese muslim martial arts thickheaded muay thai asshole fans like you don't know shit because you think muay thai is every thing.
@tuzwol You don't even know what opinions are I can say kung fu is superior to muay thai thanbks to the movies is that an opinion. There is no opinion in saying shit like you did about bajiquan If you don't like bajiquan then shut the fuck up asshole and don't say shit about muay thai being better than bajiquan because no martial art is better.
1:17... Ooooohhh!! Man that was a good tackle. I hate to be the little guy if the floor was concrete. Baji Quan really is effective for tall and huge guys, just like Combat Aikido, because of it's stiff and dragging stance, wherein a fighter is obviously drawing raw visceral strength from below. Baji is pretty obsolete for fighters excelling in speed and agility. They better shift to Choi Lee Fut; there's a blinding speed. Or they could try Shaolin Fist for both speed, agility and aerial power.
Interesting video. But I have to say, there is quite a size difference between the fighters. The Baji fighter was not only taller but looked bigger and much more muscular. I give the smaller MT fighter kudos, that was quite a large opponent he was sparring with.
i want to see more stuff like this, all baji, i love watching baji sparring and fighting, and i love it more when its against boxing lololol watch the guy get elbowed into the wall over and over hilarious
Asia is not using Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in this clip. He's using Bajiquan. I'm sorry did you see ground fighting in this clip where the rest of us didn't?
The lil gys is ASIAN not white and it was him wanting ot test himself out against me. He knew the level difference and the weight difference but wanted to test himself anyways. I give him much respect for that.
wow, this guy has the most baji flavor i've seen in these sparring videos. i love his little punch at :52. The first time he used the shoulder was against the boxing guard which is quite smart, but later it looked like he was just throwing that move around. And he doesn't demonstrate the elbow, which would have been nice. But again, the way he advances when he punches and everything really feels like baji.
Bajiquan originally does not have any kicks. But at 2:17 , he uses a kick. Maybe he learned it from another Martial art.

Like Huo Yuan Jia to Mizhong Quan, Ip Man to Wing Chun, Bruce Lee to Chinese Martial Arts in general (though I tend to see it as lots of media coverage on his part), and more recently Gracie to BJJ.

doesnt matter, its not the same weight, if that black buy was muay thai, he would dominate the little guy anyway cause of the weight difference, i dont know if this video is trying to show something, but this is all todal bulsht, you cant tell what the best style is by seeing 2 anybodies with different styles fighting, the person using the art, is the person that makes the art good, not the art itself, but who is using it , is what matters
theconqueror 2 years ago 4
Right.. theere is such a large weight difference, and (at their current level of skill) this obviously skews the results.
Aheyne 2 years ago
@theconqueror omg all this shit about weight. Really dude? You play sports aparently, a real fighter doesn't piss and bullshit about weight. Good luck on the streets kid.

Makes sense, actually. The shoulder strike is used in Bajiquan and the Japanese name for the art is Hakkyokuken. That's Akira's fighting style, isn't it?
blackrussian9 2 years ago
yup; in VF 5 its totally overpowered
in south san jose, im stuck with wushu schools everyone. bleh. no where i can find this...
TsangBokyan 2 years ago
@TsangBokyan that would make sense since Akira uses Bajiquan lol xD .... Even though his costume kind of makes him look like he does Karate -__- ....
7dimensionalsoda 1 year ago
@TsangBokyan if the black guy is using bajiquan then that is a legitimate used in the martial arts. There are many moves used in baji that consists of pushing or shoving with certain body parts, shoulders, arms, head, legs, etc.
AssassinGhost 1 year ago
@TsangBokyan yep! hakkyoku ken is nothing but the japanese reading of baji quan kanji. love that move..
circacheese 1 year ago
@TsangBokyan it's the same technique just by a different name.
sageofthe6paths 1 year ago
@TsangBokyan It's a legit move in Baji and other martial arts like Wing Chun
mrfishgun 6 months ago
The black guy doesn't fight Bajiquan. In my kwoon teach Baji and I can't see any technique in the video to say the black guy is a Baji figther .
Moreover, It doesn't matter the style a person knows. If you are afraid even before the fight begin, you're dead.

damn at 1:17 that was tekken all the way
but ill give it to the little guy he has speed strength and heart
cinder123208 2 years ago
what a rookie. he was scared, lost the battle before it start. he was even giving a chance to strike when the guy dropped his guard.
kinokid 3 years ago
Actually - that's a very poor example of Baji Vs. Muay Thai - The black guy is 4" taller, and 60 pounds heavier. NO SHIT a shoulder hit will toss him to the floor!
I want to see a Baji fighter who is 160 issue any sort of power like that.
Aheyne 3 years ago
well, i've fought bigger guys, and won. survival doesn't do excuses. lol
kinokid 3 years ago
Why muay thai guy is a racist, that's why he lost. he saw the big black man, got scared, lost the fight before it even started.

You've proven everything I've said about you.
firestorm117 3 years ago
I don't know. It kinda looks like the smaller guy opened up his big mouth to the test and bet that he could take him out, even with gloves on. Because it sounds like he bigger guy is trying to prove a point. This scenerio happens all the time. Hey, but i could be wrong. The kid has spunk though.

What a Joke, that Muay Thai Student probably had like a couple months of training. Any Experienced Thai Fighter wouldn't have even had to set up for the high kicks he could land. Not including all the leg kicks, and ribs broken, and thats just from kicks. Gimme a break, both those dudes are jokes.
micah8402 3 years ago
1:17, wow!
randyds5 3 years ago
That small dude is like 5'0,he might be 4'11,this isn't a fair fight,This kid might be Muay Thai but he doesn't seem to be skilled in it,just because you practice something doesn't make you good at it,and why does he have gloves on and the other guy doesn't that isn't fair, someone can grab you,but you can't grab them back, this fight is unfair in so many ways, its laughable
tuzwol 3 years ago
My fault the gloves don't prevent you from grabbing,I take that back, that was fair in that regard, but this size difference is too drastic,if you're small you must be powerful and fast when fighting a big dude, and this guy is neither, translation he is at a big disadvantage, but he must be giving credit for going toe to toe with this huge martial artist,I'm going to research Bajiiquan after watching this, peace
tuzwol 3 years ago
I wouldn't say he went toe to toe... like you said he didn't try to take advantage of his speed difference. Also, look at how the two handle their ground. The big guy doesn't rush his advance because his weight and controll give him firm ground. The little guy doesn't dance around him to find an angle of attack, he hops around trying to keep the big guy's slow advance from overtaking his ground, and fails miserably. I think that the big guy understands his own style, the little guy doesn't.
firestorm117 3 years ago
If he went toe to toe with a muay thai fighter his size,I highly doubt that the Baji fighter would win.
tuzwol 3 years ago
Size doesn't matter one bit. It's skill, intellect, and reflexes. If the muay thai guy his size fought like this kid, he'd get wooped even easier because the extra weight would slow him down and also do more damage to him when being thrown. Like I said you can't fight a guy as firm as this straight forward at medium range. You need to either close in the range, develop a firmer hold of the ground, and throw his balance off, or maintain your distance and work him from several angles and levels.
firestorm117 3 years ago
Size does matter. If he ran into a muay-thai fighter his size he would lose because he would be getting punched in the face. You would see alot of jabs, and right hands being used,a muay thai fighter would grab the back of his head and knee him in his ribs. This baji fighter can get away with keeping his hands low because of who he is fighting, try that against bigger Muay Thai fighter, someone his size and the result would be very different
tuzwol 3 years ago
review what I said. if the guy his size fought like this kid, he'd still lose. If he rooted himself, the extra weight would help him hold his ground.
firestorm117 3 years ago
I gotta disagree,if a guy his size fought like the kid he would win, because he would be landing punches to the face, try approaching a muay thai fighter with your hands down and let me know how it goes
tuzwol 3 years ago
well then at this point I'd have to say you know nothing about fighting. I believe this ends our little debate as you seem dead set on preaching capabilities you know nothing about and as such can prove nothing about either.
firestorm117 3 years ago
I can say the same for you.I think you should watch your mouth, because I can prove what I'm talking about,I've trained in Muay-Thai,jeet kune do,filipino kali,I've sparred with guys of all sizes,if you just approach a big muay thai fighter with your hands down you will get hit,it seems you know nothing about fighting or the martial arts for that matter
tuzwol 3 years ago

Many MMartists prefer to use sanda in mma competitions but does that mean bajiquan is obselete I've seen bajiquan be used in full contact fights so if someone in mma uses bajiquan techniques then I see no problem.
SunWukong4 1 year ago
@SunWukong4
the only mma guy i know that uses sanda is cung le and even then he cross trained in muay thai.
amerexile001 1 year ago
@amerexile001 you need to look on sanda because it is used alot in MMA in America it's rare but In China and afew places Sanda is known. It is considered by many as the best kung fu for full contact fighting.
SunWukong4 1 year ago
@SunWukong4
you avoided my question.
you say it is used "a lot" but you failed to give me even one example. i am into mma (from the looks of it) more than you and i only know one fighter who uses it and that was cung le.
it seems you are confusing sanda with muay thai.
amerexile001 1 year ago
@amerexile001 It seems you don't clearly understand what I'm saying "confusing sanda with muay thai" are you serious.
Go look up Chinas Art Of War it's chinas own MMA. From the looks of it you have no idea about me so don't suggest things from the start thank you. You also need to look up patrick barry he has sanda.
SunWukong4 1 year ago
@SunWukong4
no wonder why i havent heard of art of war; the fighters still need to practice their ground game.
oh well, as more people know about mma i guess there will be more sanda fighters who can compete mma on a world class level.
and i guess i misunderstood you; sorry about that. :P

SunWukong4 1 year ago
Yeah.. the size difference makes this video completely pointless. Doesn't matter if the big guy fights Baji or anything else.
Aheyne 3 years ago
not necessarily...granted, I don't think the smaller guy has a particularly high skill level, but I've sparred people I had a crushing advantage over in size, strength, and conditioning, and got between with technique plain and simple. Also, some styles of martial arts are better suited to big people, taking advantage of their size and strength, while others make use of speed and agility. I think Baji Quan fit the dude in this clip.

MrGamalier 1 year ago
@MrGamalier,yeah right and if he did those muay thai fighters had the same skill level as the guy in this video
tuzwol 1 year ago
The only reason this working is because that Muay Thai fighter is small,if this Muay Thai fighter was bigger and lets say the size of this Baji fighter, this baji fighter would get destroyed
tuzwol 3 years ago
only if he has a superior understanding of his own body mecahincs and style. Taking the guy head on the way the little guy did here would still be dangerous for a Muay Thai fighter. Baji is a very powerful and firm style, making it better for dominating the forward and side planes than many other mid-range styles. But while firm, it can also be very explosive and quick. You can find plenty of forms on youtube of this style, check it out.
firestorm117 3 years ago
The Baji fighter was charging with his hands down,he was open to the face and the little man never capitalized, and his rear kick lacks power, when he kicked the guys leg it didnt even phase him,if your rear thai kick lacks power you shouldnt fight because you are not ready
tuzwol 3 years ago
if your reflexes are toned well enough and you're fast enough, you don't need to hold any sort of guarded stance. After all, the best block is to not be where the punch is. And it's not just that his rear kik lacks power, but also lacks speed for drawing it back in. He lets his kick lingers which lets the big guy simply grab his leg and throw him off balance.
firestorm117 3 years ago
But even when the kick landed it did ZERO damage.Look when you're smaller you must be faster and or be powerful, this kid has neither in that case he shouldnt fight a bigger opponent.Size does matter but you can train to make it not matter
tuzwol 3 years ago
sise really doesnt matter !!!! trees are bigger but they still fall !!! same for big muay thay fighters,or other big guys,im a cqc instructor i also practice tai chi and recently sanda.i fought the toughest guys on the streets bigger than i am like 4 to 6 inches, and still beated them, two of them ended with broken bones why for trying to rob my wife.BUT thats not the point a small person can beat a big one.
MrGamalier 1 year ago
@MrGamalier Size does matter, your job is to make it not matter. If the small fighter isn't fast, isn't strong, isn't that skillful. Size will definitely matter. Smaller fighters who have tremendous speed and power and skills make size seem irrelevant, . It depends on the person.
tuzwol 1 year ago

fexakes 3 years ago
1:17... Or they could try Shaolin Fist for both speed, agility and aerial power.
nyabinghimohawk 3 years ago

wow, this guy has the most baji flavor i've seen in these sparring videos. i love his little punch at :52. The first time he used the shoulder was against the boxing guard which is quite smart, but later it looked like he was just throwing that move around. And he doesn't demonstrate the elbow, which would have been nice. But again, the way he advances when he punches and everything really feels like baji.
