This is why I don't watch what they call "NEWS" anymore - because of shit like this. Palin is about as relevant to real political issues as Paris Hilton. At this stage, like Paris she's merely famous for being famous.
I briefly turned on MSNBC today, and Rachel Maddow's crying about Palin extending her 15 minutes of fame on Oprah. Then I briefly turned to Fox News, and O'Reilly actually asked Lou Dobbs (fellow douche) if Obama was the devil???

I watch real news on PBS. with Jim Lear, and commentary with out all the "flash" with Bill Moyers on PBS.. and if i want news that doesnt base races and countries who dont want to be like us I watch the BBC for civilized TV. PBS might be the only useful tv channel on no cable outlets left. On Cable I try to stick to cspan channels and the BBC. Maddow has moments 2-3 days a week but i guess to keep ads she has to buck shuffle sometimes too. :(

The Jim Lear News Hour is the only television news that I watch on a routine basis (because it's strickly journalism and not tabloid). And I don't mind that it's not in super hi-def with fancy graphics streaming in the background or spinning logos on the bottom of the tv screen or former beauty pageant winners w/ augmented breasts on screen reciting talking points from a teleprompter.
I just want the news w/ true checks & balances so I can make up my own mind from there...

You know, its interesting to me that you come very close to the facts behind the problems, but just miss it. If you have the ability to go to college, do it. You seem like an intelligent person, just not very educated on economics.
Anyways, unfortunately the "Bailout" was necessary, and it was done by Bush. I believe you may mean the stimulus package which is a completely different thing, and THAT as also incredibly important. GM failing would have hurt us more than the banks though. (more)

As for the war, I agree with you. We need to pull out, there is no possibility to win as it is a civil war and the taliban is fighting for the poor people over there... How do we expect them to help us get rid of the taliban?
Time to cut our losses and save some LIVES, and other resources.

I fear Sarah Palin because there are perhaps enough people in the US who are so admiring of ignorance that she could be elected. And once in office, she might start hearing voices in her head, call for another exorcism just to make sure, and then invade whichever country the voices tell her to.
The only positive to the possibility of her being president is that she might quit after a couple of years.

We will see if Palin is a joke. She overthrew the political establishment in Alaska as governor, was very popular, is smart, has good instincts, and by definition, attractive. If she has time to apply her principles to national politics, she may very well become president, especially if the GOP does not rid itself of all the political dead weight and the Dems continue on their current self destructive path.
